  • Many trees are dropping their leaves now. But, not to worry, fall is a great time to plant trees in your yard. On this edition of Get It Growing, LSU AgCenter horticulturist Dan Gill introduces you to a Super Plant called the Willow oak. And like all Louisiana Super Plant selections, it's a proven winner.

My favorite tree at the moment. 5 magnificent 80 foot trees across my condo windows. I am so in love with them. Peachtree and Lindbergh in Atlanta.

They are awesome trees. Louisiana seems to be the perfect place for them.

I just moved into a new home in North Carolina and the builder planted a Willow Oak. This is my first experience with this tree. Any tips? Thank you!

They only bare acorns every 2 years, red oak, but they are the fastest growing oak.
I have a few spotted but I have not caught them dropping acorns.
