That engine bay really is looking superb. I like the idea of of using Mr Surfacer to create mud effects rather than relying entirely on pigments. Best trick is the use of a jewels tap and die set to make hose pipe - definitely gonna get me one of those 😀
Hi Jim. I hope you and the family are well. The tap and die set idea was from the legend himself - Mr T. He was always a great help with my scratch building. Many thanks for stopping by and your kind words. Have a great week my friend and speak soon
Already a meticulous work. The engine compartment looks great. With such detailed work it will become in the end a eyecatcher. Best wishes and a nice weekend, Steve. Joachim
Hi Joachim. I am glad I tackled the engine again. It looks better than the last time I did it 5 years ago so I must be doing something right LOL. Many thanks for your kind words. Have a great weekend and speak soon
Hi John. I am in the process of emailing you both so speak soon. The next video is jam packed with micro detailing so lots more to come. Take care mate.
Thats kind of you to say Bob. I have enjoyed England fight back this afternoon. Another couple of good sessions tomorrow and we should have an unassailable lead. Many thanks for stopping by and speak soon
Hi Tom. Many thanks for your kind words my friend. Its a typical British Summer at the moment - rain, rain and more rain so will be at the bench for most of the weekend. Take care and speak soon
Its been a busy weekend mate. I have a ton of wood in the back garden as I will be spending the next few weeks putting up a load of fencing. Hopefully I will get some bench time in as well LOL. Off to see how your floaty thing is coming along. Many thanks for your kind words Gav and speak soon
As always Steve, you never disappoint! What a great look and wonderful weathering, and I love the idea of using a screw thread tool, it hadn't occurred to me to use those, bravo!! Your innovation is always 3 steps ahead! Thanks for all you do my friend!! Johnny
Excellent job done on the engine and engine bay Steve, masterfully painted and weathered as well. What was that tool you used for the corrugated pipe look?? Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend!
Hi George. It is a watchmakers/jewellers turning tool. They use it to make screw threads on small screws in watches and alike. I don't use it often but its handy to have in the draw when needed. Take care my friend and many thanks for stopping by
Somehow I missed the first part of this. Excellent painting and weathering of the engine and engine compartment, Steve! Nice job scratchbuilding that hose! What's that jeweller's tool called? Cheers, my friend
Hi Pauly. I hope you are well my friend. Many thanks for your kind words. If you put "4 Tap & die set no 0.7mm to 2mm taps and dies watch mini micro repair tool" into the Ebay search engine it should come up for you. Take care and speak soon
