It's DJ here and welcome back!
I was following Idol Producer since EP. 1. (Chen Linong and Wang Ziyi are my picks) I've seen all of their performances and it was heartbreaking to see the others who didn't make it (Hubaaa)
But on the other hand, let's congratulate KunKun, Nongnong, Chengcheng, Justin, Yanjun, Zhengting, Ziyi, Gui and Zhangjing for making it to Top 9 (le applause) Let's support Nine Percent to the max!
For those who dont know:
Idol Producer s a Chinese reality boy group survival show produced by iQiyi. The reality show was officially aired and broadcast online on January 19, 2018 on iQiyi. The show garnered over 100 million viewers within the first hour of broadcast. Idol Producer brings together 100 trainees from 31 different entertainment companies and talent agencies, both within and beyond China, including individual trainees who aren't associated with any agencies. The trainees will have seal-offed training sessions which are recorded for a period of four months. Nine of the 100 trainees will be chosen through a voting system by the viewers from the pool of 100 trainees to debut as a unit boy group of 9 people. The voting style is similar to Korea's Produce 101 and Mix Nine.
Its first season is over and the debut name of the group is 'Nine Percent'
Y'all should stan them. They just aint looks they're also super talented. They also use their self as their wallpaper so y'all should rlly stan them.

UPDATE: CAI XUKUN is their LEADER. I actually thought it's gonna be Zhengting or Zhangjing. Hope he doesnt receive much stress tho because he's both the leader and the center.

I have similar thoughts as you to the positions. And since there's so many rappers in the group, I'm sure Fan ChengCheng, Lin Yanjun, and maybe Cai Xukun will probably have to participate in vocals a lot too.

At this point I'm kinda worried about the distribution. There are 3 vocalist and 6 rappers. Ideologically it should be 3 rappers and 6 vocalist. There's no way each member will get their fair share. Kunkun being center automatically gets him the most rap lines then Xiao Gui will most likely be after him and the rest won't get much because within a song performed by an idol group the chorus is usually sung and that takes up a huge chunk of song leaving the verses,bridge,hook for rapping. I seriously hope Lin Yanjun is a vocalist because i like it better when he sings anyway and Kunkun and ChengCheng have potential as vocalist as well. I just hope it will be fair. Or at least reasonable.
Same here. Just look at Wanna One, they have fewer rappers but still Guanlin was not given enough lines. How about with 6 rappers right? And also, i think they'll really give Chengcheng a vocal position because despite his love for rap, it cant be denied that he's really good at singing

honestly, i think having 6 rappers won't be a problem, ONLY if they did hip hop concept. in kpop, bigbang, ikon, and nct's rappers got A LOT of lines because the majority of their song is rapping, or even the singing parts seems to be easy (for example: mack daddy is a suitable concept for them to have)

Main Vocalist: Zhangjing
Lead Vocalists: Nongnong, Yanjun, Zhengting
Sub-vocal: Chengcheng, Xukun, Ziyi (bc he actually did good during "I will remember")
Main Rappers: Ziyi, Xiao Gui, Xukun
Lead Rappers: Yanjun, Justin, Chengcheng
Sub-rapper: Nongnong
Main Dancer: Zhengting
Lead Dancers: Xukun, Justin, Ziyi, Yanjun (he's actually pretty decent in dancing as seen from codename contra, firewalking, and banana trainees' dance covers)

Leader: i think they will pick their oldest member either Zhangjing, Yanjun or Zhenting.
Vocal: (Main) Zhangjing, Linong and Zhenting (maybe Xukun and Yanjun will be add for vocal)..
Both vocal and rap: Yanjun, Xukun or Chengcheng. for these 3 member maybe they will choose either vocal or rap..
Rapper: (Main) Xiao Gui, Ziyi and Justin.
Dancer: Either Zhenting or Xukun will be their Main and Lead Dancer

Actually Zhangjing is good at dancing too, he just didn't show it on Idol Producer.

This is a good guess. But I really hope Chengcheng will choose to get some vocal lines (we all know how he loves to rap). I also think that Yanjun will go for vocals this time and I really hope he does because there are too many rappers in Nine Percent.

Sreeja Lakshmi the lyrics are actually “dont stay back furthermore” or more grammatically correct as “stop staying back” the dont&furthermore in chinese is 别再 [bié zài] which sounds as better when rapped xD cause the rap line before that was smth like ”take the initiative...”

Monisah Ali ok, so 'Main' is more important, and 'Lead' is like less important. So Zhangjing would be 'Main' vocal, and NongNong, Zhengting and Yanjun would be 'Lead' vocal.

Honestly, Zhu Zhengting is a leader material. Not because he's Yuehua leader. But he has confidence especially when he speaks. I like his public speaking, and i'm pretty sure he will be a strict leader. He'll punch or slap if you were too lazy to practice (he's the devil king of Yuehua, right?) but at the same time he can be a mommy who will always caring all members 😄😄😄😄😄
For me, rap position will distribute to 6 members but for lead rapper, i'll choose Xiao Gui and Fan Cheng Cheng. There's something from them gave me that swag vibe. Xiao Gui was born as a rapper and fcc has unique way to rap ( i dunno, but i like his soft rap). Vocals : Zhangjing (lead) Chen Linong and Yanjun fit to main vocals. Lead dance i pick Zzt. They are great dancers, so i think there's no big problem about dance. So, i think i have no worries about vocal. Fcc, Kunkun, Zzt will have charge in vocal

You're totally right. There are way too many rappers to the point that I don't even think all the rappers will have a rap section (Xiao Gui, Justin, Xukun, Ziyi, Chengcheng, Yanjun). Yanjun's vocals are pretty good though, so I think he'll get more of a vocalist role than a rapper role. Xiao Gui really sounds the most stable rapping, and Justin's vocals aren't that strong. That leaves Ziyi, Xukun and Chengcheng in the middle (rapping and singing). I'd rather Linong not rap anyway, not with so many good rappers in the group :D

- sub : xukun ( his expressions is main worthy )

(I would say main can do all , lead can do small and simple high notes while sub can do Low/mid and nice notes )
- main : no doubt Zhangjng , fight me
- lead : Nongnong , xiaogui ( his 'artist' is so nice istg ) , yanjun ( he was trained in vocals and is a vocalist - look at his singing covers )
- sub: xukun ( behind the scenes quit smoking short cover sounds very nice and soothing ) , Cheng Cheng ( his vocals in can't stop and very good is amazing )

The ratio of rappers is just too overwhelming
- main : xiaogui ( no doubt, his skills ) , xukun ( Center usually lead/main and his expressions is killing my inner fangirl for Zhangjing and Nongnong )
- lead: Ziyi , Justin , Cheng Cheng ( all 3 have great expressions and does more of melody based raps - I personally find these 3 lyrical raps nice )
- sub: yanjun ( I wish he could be more of vocals then rapper , I'm more appealed when he sings then raps )
Overall :
Some all rounders : xukun , xiaogui, yanjun
They can do all 3 decently and is quite good/ decent so I hope they can be rotational in he comebacks and all.
Chengcheng is Lowkey climbing up my bias list with his very good and can't stop and his random blurness, his dance is a little lacking as if you watch, he's usually looking at the ground or not showing expressions much.
Watching pd101 s2, really hope for the best for zheng ting and Justin

Xukun no doubt is decent at all 3 aspects and his expression omg is like since Super idol till date.
Xiaogui is like one of my rap of China list of regrets , I hope he likes the experience of an idol since he had no thoughts of being one
Seems from every video of 9 Percent, every 99 IP & everyone in the world who watched IP, totally agree/accept fact that li yanjun will be the visual 😂😂😂 no 2nd name, not even kunkun. He's such a dark horse for getting in top 9, happy that he's there.
All video put him as visual & zhangjing main vocal. kunkun automatically gets face/centre as he's no 1. All other position still debateble. Great job banana culture trainees 😘😘👏👏

*Lin Yanjun- not Chinese (Taiwanese), right? Giving jokes to lower stress levels.
For me he can be one of the parents (leader,older brother), for fights & misunderstandings, balancer, equalizer.

Especially during dance practices/ performances.
Very confident holding the mic (for interviews, MCs)
*Wang Ziyi -rapper & dancer. I find him very manly like girls will melt.

Leader especially for voice training, blending. Belter, can reach very high notes.
Eldest, one of the leaders (mommy), loves to eat but wants to diet. Very good infront of camera holding the mic

It couldve been Xukun as one of the lead rappers and Wang Ziyi as the main rapper. Sorry but Ziyis rapping skills are better than Xukun. If youve been rooting for Ziyi you should know 😉
Hi. They're both good at rapping, no doubt about that. But kunkun is more noticeable in rapping. Kunkun is both a high tone and low tone rapper while Wang Ziyi's a low tone rapper only. Of course I know Ziyi's capability and talent, i wouldnt support him if I dont. Plus, it's more likely that Xukun will get the 'main' title because he won. (See Kang Daniel? He did more vocals in PD101 but he's once titled as main rapper. It just changed lately) Plus, this is just my guess. I based it on what I saw during Idol Producer. I noticed that Xukun can do both tones which most main rappers have (Namjoon, Zuho, Zico) I hope you wont get offended with my guess. It's merely my opinion. For leader, I think it should be either Kunkun or Zhangjing.

Fxck it just label them all rappers 🤣 I'm really intrigued to see how the real positions will go. So far it's basically 4 singers and 6 rappers. Luckily Kunkun and Chengcheng sing too.

this might be the first time I'm not worried about that one member who has to put in extra effort to meet the rest (trust me i adore sohye sm for her hardwork) but rather i'm worried about all of them not being able to show all that they got because they're all so.. powerful??? zhangjin will SHINE for his vocals for sure, the rest will shine too, but yaknow their strengths are p much the same tho kinda different. hope the group rotates the positions once in a while so the rappers get to shine in their area, and also the vocal area they're good at. and I'm guessing they might go with the bad boi concept (guessing based on the composition of the group) but i again hope they switch to soff too if that's the case because zzt's dance and our vocalists' soff but powErfUl vocals!!! to think of it these guys would go well with any concept lol. not just a member but everyone- just the thing is some fit this more and some fit that but yup anyone call pull everything.
they're all capable of standing alone on stage too. heck the ip trainees- the ones i noticed and the ones that were there on the top- can dominate the stage alone (they're good at what they're good at and there were notable double and triple threats). idk but i saw that in them. no matter who would've gotten into the group the group would've been a solid one is what i believe bUT yes 9% has to be one of the most well rounded and versatile groups. (ik they haven't shown much as of now and this might be too early to say this but c'mon those stages don't lie.)
