Tigris was my first Sky Rocket II coaster. I love it! But it was more intense than expected, especially when you reach the top after the last launch. I also had a similar wait time when I was there
I am spoiled with BGT and Sea World being my home parks because when I go anywhere else I’m like “a line? What’s this?” I had never ridden another Sky Rocket and I get it’s a clone, but I found it forceful and fun, and certainly a great addition to the park. The ejector air in the back seat is ridiculous - I’m a big guy and I was literally out of my seat holding on for dear life! Yes, it’s a place filler, but it’s a nice nod to us regulars and a reminder that the Sea World company is doubling down on their commitment to coasters and thrill rides, not just theming and family rides.
Fantastic day to go, those were the lines we all hope for but seldom get. People were probably waiting for Christmastown to open, so guess what next year I'm going on Christmastown Eve! Lol
Technically the theming for the queue is actually the channel for the old water ride that was in that spot before Tigris. So what you’re seeing is the old scenery they didn’t remove
You just seem like a dope person to ride with!!😂 ever come back to six flags stl (for whatever reason) or silver dollar, or worlds of fun, I will definitely meet you and say hi!!!!
I want to ride this ride so bad 😢😢 I’m already “binge-listening” to the soundtrack you hear in the queue and it keeps making me want to ride it even more!!! I love Busch Gardens!!!
I was screaming my ass off when I went on this the first time, albeit it was at night and I couldn’t even see the track so I had no idea what was coming. But I don’t know how you can be so chill lmao it was the most intense roller coaster I’ve been on (I’ve only been to the parks in Florida.) This video doesn’t do it justice.
Just so you know, that plot of land that Tigris now sits on does have some ride history behind it. The original ride was a Jungle Cruise type of ride called the African Queen Boat Ride. It took riders through a African jungle and through a African village where someone would jump out of a hut and scare riders. That lasted until the late 1980’s when it was transformed into the Taganyika Tidal Wave. The cruise boats, most of the theming, and part of the river trough were removed and replaced with a Intamin Shoot the Schutes attraction. The queue actually takes you through the water trough of the former Taganyika Tidal Wave/African Boat Queen Ride.
Epic, I was just at Busch Gardens Williamsburg but it was the first day of Christmas town and Tempesto, Griffon, Appollos Chariot and the bigger rides where closed, but Verbolten and InvadR where open, epic
The only Skyrocket 2 I've ridden is Superman Ultimate Flight at Discovery Kingdom, and it was awesome. I especially like the lap bar restraints on it, because it makes you feel a lot more exposed and free to move around. Really adds to the weightless feeling on the ride.
I just started getting my feet wet with coasters, starting at disney, then universal, then sea world, and finally at BGT. Tigris was the first of its kind I rode, and moreso than Hulk, Montu, Kraken or Kumba, it was the most intense to me. Maybe because in a way all those rides were so similar. It took me a few rides to sort of adapt to it and appreciate it. It's certainly the most unique ride I've been on. Is Ice Breaker going to be the same kind of thing? I know it's by the same manufacturer.
@@DoswarePictures I highly agree with you and maybe with more inversions and a bit taller. But if they wanted to make a model taller than Steel Curtain highest inversion I am sure they can. 223 feet wouldn't that hard to beat.
Can you take go-pros on rides at Busch Gardens or did you need special permission? I’m going in May (hopefully in time for Iron Gwazi) and would like to know if it’s worth taking the camera.
I rode this for the first time in October (also my first and only Sky Rocket 2) to me it seems like the trains are not made for tall people. I’m 6’3” but skinny as a rail and only weigh 155lbs but I felt so cramped in the train I couldn’t enjoy the ride.
what time (of the day) did you go? when I went to BGW I came to the park at 4:00PM and got all the rides done in about 30 minutes and then we rode all the rides up to 4 times.
I rode Tigris at Bush Gardens in Florida and I will never ever ever ride that ride again......I almost fell out of the coaster seat when it went upside down.
If I’m being honest, skyrocket 2 coasters are only good when they’re newer in my opinion. The only one I’ve ridden is Superman: Ultimate Flight at Discovery Kingdom and it’s gotten so rough over the years. The last time I went to the park, this summer for my birthday, I rode it and it threw me around so badly it bruised my ribs. It makes me kinda sad that it used to be such a great ride as well.
TBH I think Tidal Wave was better than Tigris. It was one of only three water rides in the park (and Stanley Falls Flume is just objectively worse) and it was better themed, whereas Tigris just feels phoned in. In terms of theming, they pretty much just repurposed the old ride trough as a queue and kept some of the rockwork; in fact, I think the only thing other than the station and tracks that's actually new is the sign.
I think Tigris is decent, but in a park of good (not amazing or great like cedar fair but still good) coasters it kind of stands out to me. Personally I wouldn’t wait more than 10 minutes on it.
They called it “Tigres” because BGT stays things in English, then Spanish in the ride queues, and that’s how it’s pronounced in Spanish. Pretty funny actually
It's not a bad ride, but the trains and the restraints are AWFUL. So I'm supposed to squeeze my ass across into the far seat while holding up the stupid collar thing? And then when you're in, you can't see the buckle you're supposed to buckle. It's so hard to get in and out of and it feels so claustrophobic.
Taylor: “woah I feel weightlessness and the airtime was amazing”
Person next to Taylor: Just shut up and enjoy the ride 😒
Lol that would be me
Stupid GP.
Am I right?
no bc fr 💀
I wonder what the GP were thinking about you filming and talking to the camera about the airtime and inversion
😂
I feel bad for the guy next to Taylor like if I wasn’t a coaster nerd I would be so annoyed by him
ThatPringlesGuy He didn’t seem annoyed. Taylor probably asked him if he could.

I think, just visually, I prefer the Skyrocket at SFDK because I like the inside-outside launches, feels weird having this model all outside
Technically the theming for the queue is actually the channel for the old water ride that was in that spot before Tigris. So what you’re seeing is the old scenery they didn’t remove
Tigris is a great filler for that area. Tidal wave has been closed for 5+ years before that installed the new coaster.

The theme song kicks ass for this ride
Having ridden this out in SFDK I gotta say it was awesome! Esp in backrow it was almost violent at points. Loved it.
That should be your next coaster trip. Australian coaster trip. Just to ride a decent clone. Aka tower of terror 2
I just got back from our Christmas Town visit and did get on Tigris. What an incredible view of the sunset and the Christmas lights! Fun ride, too
Had absolutely no idea BG Tampa was even getting a Skyrocket 2, I know they're clones but I think they're great, really cool they've got one.
Me just looking at the old lady behind him laughing/smiling 😂😂😂
That theming was from tital wave lol it’s pretty cool with the changing lights! Tempesto has no station music ?

Never understood why a park went for OTSR instead of lap bars on those sky rockets 2. Does it really mean so much for the GP?
Comfort collars....don't get why some SkyRocket's have them and some don't....
