Yes, they are totally in their bodies, these dancers. And the mystery remains why doesn't this happen in US companies. A rhetorical question, but something missing in US in the teaching and aesthetic. Same thing with Tanztheater Wuppertal, everybody moves within their body, all in, every fiber. Thank you.
There's no denying this company and its choreographers (past and present) are world leaders, but they can at least acknowledge Mitchell Rose here, and his films in the Exquisite Corps series begun several years ago. The 'let's have one dancer continue where the other ends' transition is that idea. Sure, Ennya Larmit could have come up with the idea on her own, but at this time many of us have seen hundreds of dance companies using this exact idea to one degree or another. That said, I hope we get back to a world where we can see these dancers live in the USA again.
Thank you! For this joyful celebration, as well as for your weekly sharing of past repertory! I was smitten with you as a company when I first saw you at the Herod Atticus Auditorium in Athens in the eraly 1980's (Verklarte Nacht, Metamorphoses, Symphony of Psalms, if I recall correctly) - and have stayed in love and admiration of your work ever since! Stay well and healthy, and see you in the flesh again soon!
...it would be nice though, ....you know cause i haven't seen it for a VERY LONG time in modern dance......if _ less twitching - less twitchy music and do something musically......dancing on music instead of using it as wallpaper........and....maybe most of all - can movement still MEAN anything ? It's nice and all that, but except for seeing great bodies contort a lot, the emotional or even rational content is pretty empty...... Still a great company, but modern dance is in danger of becoming one big twitch....
I agree. One of the most brilliant companies and dancers I've ever seen.

Pas goed op jullie zelf :-) !
This is the lowest form of art. If you actually enjoy this, you have to have at least 2 eating disorders.
