Deepest Bass Voice and Singer in the world

- The TRUTH is, NO ONE knows who is the deepest bass in the world because many don't have exposure. In this video, the singer was not trying to show you how low he could go. HE WAS SINGING THE NOTES IN THE SONG! DUHHHH. So stop tripping, and simply enjoy the video, and sure leave your comments, share your thoughts about other singers you know, all of that... BUT STOP TRIPPING. Because at the end of the day, it's great music and it's a wonderful story. PERIOD
Voice rattles the entire live audience studio
one day when I was working in the coal mines about a mile deep, me and some of my friends got an accapella going. I sang bass. that made me officially the deepest bass singer in the world.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Lmfao
Hahaha
Joni Oden bruh lmfaoo
I s'pose I may have sung deeper being that I've been to Hell and back again since I commenced to singing 'Friend of the Devil' in my head back the mid-70's.
Joni Oden hahaha. deepest voice in this group but not world. I can hit a lower note than my wife and kids so I guess I'm the lowest in my world
Not the lowest in the world, but a beautiful bass voice.
Just my thought!
Larry F Could you name the deepest bass singer ?
Bilal Jafar I believe it is J.D Sumner
Bilal Jafar Inertia.
Tim Storm goes insanely deep. I'd be surprised if anyone could go deeper than that guy.
Thank you. Some people don't understand that he's singing the melody of the song. He wasn't trying to demonstrate how low he could go. That was never the point. But Thank you for simply appreciating great vocals.
Then A HUGE TD to you for LYING in the title. IF you want one of the deepest, if not truly THE deepest, listen to Geoff Castellucci!!
ruclips.net/video/fdBBM_d3jlc/видео.html
or one where he sings ALL parts.
ruclips.net/video/12Sg9efb0hc/видео.html
Yes, he has a nice, resonant voice, but I think it was supposed to say "Deepest Bass Singer in the Room.”
yes, NOT THE deepest....I have heard deeper than this but he has (had ?) a wonderful voice.
Jeff Gaddy Maybe "deepest bass singer in that chair". My Dad did this regularly & he wasn't a performer.
Jeff Gaddy hahahahahha
clickbait wasnt "invented" in the last 2-3 years dude -.-
"In the whole wide room..."
As a fellow bass, I have to say that his technique; where he produced the resonance and pitch, and his breath support are relaxed and flawless. Not the deepest voice in the world, but a masterful and well- trained musician.
Thank you Broderick, great observation
As a bass voice myself, it really makes me happy singing such a great singer repping us more niche talents!
Not the deepest but great range and clean. Natural talent is to sound like that live and untouched by studio editing.
Yep, couldn't agree less.
JD Hendricks
Couldn't agree less? Don't you mean couldn't agree more? Unless you disagree with him in which case you just used the wrong sentence all together :')
Yep. Heheh just a typo
Oh :P
Nic Val has the deepest voice for.me
far from deepest or lowest voice, but very rich and soothing.love his voice but far from the lowest
he doesn't have a deep voice...
Nor Ken Turner.
(Speaking voices) but singing voices VERY LOW!
Should hear avi kaplan
@@RandomGuy-iz3ju Avi Kaplan can't go as low in vocal fry as J.D Sumner can go in smooth chest voice.
The deepest bass singer was a man named John D’Armand he died last year in Juneau Alaska. He had several doctorates in music from Yale the Sorbonne and other European and American universities. He was internationally recognized for his talents but he did not sing pop music as a rule but classical.
Just curious, since I am unfamiliar with him, was he deeper than Geoff? Really listen to him from 2:00 to 2:20.
ruclips.net/video/fSM3hKADcMc/видео.html
@jalyc the Guinness record holder is tim storms idk where these others consider themselves the deepest in the world if they can't get Guinness
@@WannaBeBass11 you know I asked him why he never worried about Guinness, he said that they had nothing to do with music. 🤷♂️ at this point who knows. He was my music appreciation professor at the university of Alaska, and one of the finest human beings I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. I was a commercial fisherman and professional mountaineering medic who had no understanding of art before knowing him.
@chucksolutions4579 I've met some guys that I swear are better than Tim his lowest note of - g7 is insane but who can even hear what melody would that fit etc I agree with what your saying
False.
1:50 shut up and let me listen to the song!!!
Its so disrespectful to clap while an artist is playing
KeepAwayFF and it’s worse that the audience thinks it works with the song
I found her irritating too...
I don't know why always when a bass singer sing, everyone begins to laugh, what's funny in that ???!!
2:13 for the bass
It's ok there, but nowhere close to Geoff Castellucci.
ruclips.net/video/c40wcBBdFsI/видео.html
Thank you…
No, not deepest technically, but soothing and rich! Great sense of humor! As a Caucasian, I really appreciated that story! It's just hard to explain, but at first one thinks, oh Lord here we go with the jokes on us! Then ya realize as his grin is getting bigger, it's summertime at that time and a man asks him about White Christmas song! And then bam, punch line, and break into an awesome harmony of it! Pure gold!!! Peace and love Ya'll 🙏🫂🤣❤️🐍
I'm so glad you enjoyed this video. It was such a rare moment with the Edsels. Only one of the guys is still with us, but this little video has brought BIG smiles to literally, millions of people. I'm grateful to have captured it and been able to share it.
Pele ! Is that you ?
nice!
Lol
hahahaha... O Rei
Yeah right?
Test User I’ll smack the shit out of you
I think Melvin is deeper, even when Melvin talks, his voice is extremely deep, but this Brutha is amazing 👍🏿
Speaking of the one and only Melvin Franklin,...how I would love to have met him... On second thought, I was so in love with his voice, I probably would have melted and been left on the pavement for everyone to walk in. Then I wouldn't be here today doing what I do. lolol. But yes, Marshall was an amazing Brutha. So glad you enjoyed it.
0:27 that guy said "yeaahh" in such a deep voice I knew what was coming.
I could not help but clap to... and stand in the clapping ovation!
The story makes the song! Love it!
I don't know why but I feel a deep peace inside when I hear them sing that, and I'm a metal head
Lovely but my grandfather was a lot lower. Like 2 octaves lower, and I miss his beautiful voice. Please don't promise what you can't deliver. Sell this great video on it's real merits, great interview from a classic barbershop group. Nostalgia galore, but not the best base in the world by any means!
There's nothing better than a Class act like these guys!! Merry Christmas!!
The TRUTH is, NO ONE knows who is the deepest bass in the world. There are countless people whom we will never know of simply because they aren't on a platform of exposure. In this video, the singer was not trying to show you how low he could go. HE WAS SINGING THE NOTES IN THE SONG! DUHHHH. So stop tripping, and simply enjoy the video, and sure leave your comments, share your thoughts about other singers you know, all of that. BUT STOP TRIPPING. Because at the end of the day, it's great music and it's a wonderful story. PERIOD
Until we find out who those people are, we will only base our opinion off known bass singers.
Then why say in the title that this man is the "Deepest Bass Voice and Singer in the world"?
@@Apostle-of-Reason A mere moment of hyperbole
And now that you’ve been called out on it, it would appropriate for you to correct it. Consider it a mere act of accuracy. And honesty.
@@Guitarpicker21 I see that you are a very "entitled" individual addressing someone not from that same school of thought, and I suppose it is part of your DNA to believe that if you feel I am wrong, that makes me 'called out' in what you consider to be wrongdoing, and because you said so, I should then acquiesce. So allow me enlighten you. First of all, to read so much into the title and the description of a music entertainment video really speaks to a sheer lack of intelligence. And the fact that you are spending time making such a federal case of it also demonstrates your insufficient life; clearly you just don't have anything of importance to focus on. So I'm going to share a tip with you that will be quite wonderful if you can bring yourself to follow this nugget of wisdom I will share. So here it is: The Lord can give you life and life more abundantly if you surrender yourself to Him.
Used this video to teach my kindergarten class about high and low singing voices! Thanks for the sample Deborah!
"Not this" "Not that" but you're here. The ploy worked and it has 3+ million views
I'd say this man has a REAL bass voice; you don't hear many of those. But here, he didn't sing any deeper than most bass singers can go. But it was a pleasure to hear these guys! :-)
I wish she'd stop laughing while they were singing beautifully
WOW! I wish ALL Christmas music sounded like these dudes! That was capital A AWESOME!
THAT'S THE COOLEST THING I'VE SEEN ON RUclips IN THIS COLD MONTH OF DECEMBER,12-21-2022,SO FAR.
Thanks Old Skool, so glad you enjoyed. Stay warm. :)
On my birthday
Fantastic. . I loved hearing that funny little story..
Avi Kaplan (Pentatonix) and Tim Foust (Home Free).
YES I LOVE AVI
I loooooovvvveeeeeeeeee TIM!!
hetaes tim storms too.
hetaes omg avi !!
JD Sumner, Tim Storms deeper than both of those combined
Fantastic rendition!
Thank you. So glad you enjoyed it!
i would suggest Tim Foust from the group Home Free... middle C is called C4... Tim can sing C1. For those who want to know... C1 is the first C note on a normal 88 key piano... A0 is the lowest then B0, then C1... that note is a "daaaammmn" for singers imo.. by the way Avi from Pentatonix sings from A1 (Tim's is lower)
***** Several times on The Sing Off.....and in some of their current songs and covers.
As low as Tim is (and he IS), I still think Richard Sterban (Oak Ridge Boys) is lower.
Afraid not. Documented by the show itself. Forget what you see/hear on here. Videos can be fudged and people can edit them anyway they want to.
***** Or were you referring to my supposition about Richard Sterban being lower?
I suppose you must be the expert. Not. Have a good day trolling RUclips, correcting people with your expert opinion. Yes, I said opinion, because all you have offered is that....where is your proof?
okay i think this comment section has established he's not technically the deepest bass in the world, but it was lovely to see this little slice of entertainment from a past era, and listen to this lovely man's voice. i wonder if u told this quartet they'd one day have an audience of 1.6 million what they woulda thought :)
Avi Kaplan makes me 😍 tho
+ASMRlovelyxoxo i was looking for comment about avi lol
Some of the best to ever do it right there. You don't hear music or voices like this anymore, especially in harmony.
He has a lot of range
This was awsome!! What a great surprise to find this video!! 🤩❤
Hi Renata, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Marshall passed away a few years ago but his rich voice and kind personality will always be remembered.
@@valleygold What a gift!! Thaks for sharing!!
I feel like ive heard this story about a thousand times before
Oh wait its on repeat...
Fantastic performers...GREAT VOICES AND HARMONIES !!!
Legend has it she's still laughing to this day
Natural, storytelling version... Thank You
Not even close to the deepest voice. Falsely titled.
Yeah but it's about getting views. You bend the truth to market yourself better and persuade more people to watch your video
T0pMan15 Yeah, no shit.
GoPro Dog shut up racist
I give up, you win. For one who is so proud of his spelling, your English is too vague for me.
Tyler Gunsley have to agree the deepest bass in the world is JD Sumner of the stamps quartet holds a world record for being the deepest bass in the world was with Elvis on the road in the concert years
Brilliant story and wonderful spontaneous singing.
Melvin Franklin is one of the best too
Deepest bass voice in the world? I wouldn't know, but that voice is smooth like a fine whiskey. Thanks for the video.
He's got a great bass voice, but JD Sumner puts him in the alto range!
JD was the kind of guy that would mess with the first octave of the piano without any effort
@@marioleb4079, *low 1st octave. I have more power at B1 than most bass singers... JD makes me sound like a tenor.
@@johndeeregreen4592 lol 🤣🤣🤣 if he makes you sound like a tenor then you are not a bass.come on man, keeping the mouth close to the mic hitting the 1st low octave is not a big matter here.
@@manwithmonstervoice1100, it's called a hyperbole. Mic? That's cute; I can sing down to G1 in a choir setting. On a mic, I don't even have to get close to it down to an E1 in chest and C#1 in chest-fry.
So does George Younce, The Cathedrals..
Loved it!! The story before they sang!! 😂😂😂 !! So funny ¡!
I hate these "-st in the world!" things. Unless every singer has been tested one just doesn't know. I'm pretty sure most oktavists in Russia go lower.
it's all fantasy, by using fantasy you can be anything you wish to be
everyone does that "prettiest, ugliest, smartest, dumbest, fastest, strongest, etc.... it doesnt matter as well as its different from average you'll see that title. enjoyed the singing though.
Ketutar Jensen inertia has a lower bass voice
Ketutar Jensen I go lower, as a 15 year old in choir. This dude has a great voice, but he in no way is the deepest singer or voice
I may sound stupid but david lee roth hits a E1.
That man has the sweetest voice.
Of course there's lots of opinions here but I can't believe that no one has mentioned the most famous bass of the early 50s when the music was still called Rhythm n Blues, just before it was changed to Rock n Roll: the Great Jimmy Ricks of the Ravens.
Another favorite was Bill Brown who sang on "Sixty Minute Man" with Billy Ward and the Dominos, and also "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and "White Cliffs Of Dover" with the Checkers.
I like some of Jimmy Ricks' later solo records, such as "Lazy Mule." The Ravens did the "White Christmas" arrangement before the Drifters did it. The Edsels here were just imitating the older records.
@@bite-sizedshorts9635 Herb Reed of the Platters isn't mentioned here either.
I could listen to these guys all day...
He was ok, but Melvin Franklin of the temptations still comes out on top
lydiarox100 by far
lydiarox100 Nah.. The late RAY DAVIS (PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC) Melvin Franklin in a interview said and I quote ..there is only one bass singer he know that SINGS Bass lower then him ... is RAY DAVIS!.....Also when Melvin got sick it was RAY DAVIS that replace Melvin Franklin while he recovered.. and Tour with Temptations☆
I was like: woman stfu and let me hear the man singing without hearing your high pitched laughter
Please, don't use clickbait. It's dishonesty.
I always liked the Edsels "Rama lama ding dong". One of the many tunes filled with the essence of a bygone era that still rings through today when heard. My mother had that record, it always made me happy. Although the Drifters made the hit of White Christmas, all those groups back then had that natural born gospel soul... they didn't just sing, they delivered a tune!
Ken Turner is lower.
MakoRuu wow you ain't kidding, he makes this guy look like Kate Bush
Still good, though.
I like music that sounds like music, not burps.
This video says Deepest Bass Voice and Singer in the world.
It is clearly wrong. There was no need to comment on your personal preference.
+MakoRuu You are absolutely right!!!!
This is great, like christmas in July :)
Barry White hands down. Oh and Larry Graham. Isaac Hayes.
They vibrate Me with just their voices.
Barry White's lowest note was a G1. That's very low, but there are 1000s who can sing much lower... including me. Larry Graham is only a low baritone. Isaac Hayes' lowest note was a Bb1, which is fairly low, but not all that low. All are great singers, but not the deepest... not even close. The man with the deepest voice in the world is Tim Storms.
ruclips.net/video/xtAltg0ZIrY/видео.html
William Bobo
Those are awesome choices But don’t forget the great Melvin Franklin of the mighty Temptations!
@@urban360tvmedia7 William Bobo trained Melvin Franklin
I wish I could sing like that. Take that voice to the bars right now during Christmastime and load up on the snapper like I was trick or treating for halloween!
So Beautiful 😭💕
I don't care if he's not the lowest bass voice out there (he DEF isn't), this was truly entertaining and funny!
Did the "Deepest Bass Voice and Singer in the world" leave by the time this was recorded?
I loved hearing these beautiful men sing!! Thank you!
Thank you.
What band is this?
A play on words; superb harmony!
He has an awesome voice. Although, I think Tim Storms still holds the record for lowest voice (or lowest note ever produced anyway. He produced a G about eight octaves below the lowest one on a piano.)
Gorgeous and easy Bass voice, and SUCH a funny story. :D
Seems everyone's more concerned about a wrong titled video.missing the point there.it was just a cute story with some amazing voices.try to just enjoy it.quit hating
Thanks James. Fortunately there are thousands more nice people like you who are simply enjoying the clip than those who are filled with hatred and racism. Thank you for your comment.
Agreed.
@@valleygold No one was racist... I can't find one comment that was racist... It is not the deepest voice ever.
@@merrillsmith2270 You haven't read all the comments. we don't delete the unflattering comments, but we delete the ones of obvious hate speech. You have NO IDEA. People wanting gwh.
Thank you brother for all you did. Loving the tones
Why is she laughing when they are singing?
Umesh Pathak..... maybe she wet
Umesh Pathak bcuz he is tickling her fancy moist. DUHHH!
Umesh... My exact thought, OK give her a couple of seconds of giggles because of the story, but then she should have shut up and listened. RESPECT
You don't know women.
Umesh Pathak she was laughing at the story
Love stories like these from older performers.
Ray Davis of Parliament goes way lower than this guy but this guy does have a fine voice.
That man he wasnt gonna pay nobody their money so he got his sang on ☺🎼🎵
JD Sumner was the deepest bass voice.
At one point he was but Nic Val is much lower than Jd and Nic sings a double low b flat full voice. My Dad sang with JD in the Masters five for a while and knew him for some 40 plus years. There are other bass singers as low as jd. Ken turner, London Paris but Nic can sing a real voice lower than anyone
Reminds me of the best version of " Silent Night" ever recorded (in my opinion), The Ravens on National Records from 1946. Jimmy Ricks and Joe Van Loan, bass and tenor sharing lead. This is the best compliment I can offer these guys.
We all know Barry white has the deepest baby makin voice ever
True that
The late Melvin Franklin of The Temptations as well
The Drifters arrangement. Not the deepest, but I'll let the title slide because it got me to click. FANTASTIC!
Even that dude in the Oak Ridge Boys is deeper.
Because he is a true bass. This guy is a baritone and not even a particularly low one, either.
When you speak you have music every where in your voice! I have no words to speak!you are great!
JD Sumner would beat him in the lowest note anyday
Paul kennamer hits C0.. :D
What's the cartoon in your profile pic I forgot
Wu Zi Mu kick buttkowski or something like that I think
I beg the differ. Deepest in singing of gospel was two men and they were Thomas Span of the Brooklyn Allstars and Jimmy Jones of the Harmonizing Four. Now Sommers was good but not that great.
+Linda DeBerry I mean Sumner.
noone seems to get that it's not about his voice but his story. this is just classy
There are a few vocal techniques that help a person hit very low notes. Fry, stroh bass, throat singing, etc. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to tell the difference between natural and "faked". There are, or have been, only a small handful of men who might actually be able to hit the lowest C on the piano, in completely natural voice. I believe J. D, Sumner was one, but, like I said, difficult to tell. Nick Val, ego or not, can, at least, come close. A couple of opera singers, highly trained, might can. Ted Cassidy, Lurch, from The Adams Family, might have been able to. The pitch of the speaking voice is the teller. Tim Storms has a fine bass voice and good technique, but is faking anything, approximately, below a Bb below low C, but sells it well. Does all this really matter? Not really. The man in this post has a beautiful bass voice and knows how to sing his part well.
Is fry voice considered valid? Do russian octavists use chest voice?
I guess it's a matter of opinion. Fry is a vocal trick, but I think it is considered valid, when done with quality. Not sure about the Russians. I am no expert, at all.
The Russians are still the best basso profundi or oktavists as they call it. Check this voice in their choral or sacred choral music.
IgnaceBM Yes, Russian oktavists use chest voice. I should know because though I am not one myself, I am a basso profondo, and at times I can sing contra octave notes. It's sounds just like an oktavist.
I love it. Thanks!
her laughn through the singing was sooo anoying 😲
When you're hosting a show and working with multi-tracks and mic's, you always hope that your sound engineer provides the right mix for the people in the house/ live studio, and a different one for the tape. Sometimes you get that perfect mix, and sometimes you don't. I'm not at all offended by your comment; I'm sure I would have felt the same way. I do apologize that my mic interfered with the song.
Debórah Benton What a polite response. I know some ghosts would just moan about 'muh cyberbullying'
The Edsels from Campbell, Ohio. George Jones Jr (lead), Larry Green (1st tenor), James Reynolds (2nd tenor), Harry Green (baritone) and the late great Marshall Sewell (bass).
sorry ... that honor goes to JD Sumner. the little bit of research is all you would have needed to do to know that you are incorrect in giving this guy the title. granted he's very talented has a great range but no, he does not have the deepest note
fantastic !!👍🌷😀👍
what is the name of this group?
The Edsels
+Debórah Benton
thanks a lot Deborah, I appreciate it.
I like those guys they are cool
Thanks. Marshall passed away a few years ago. We miss him.
+Debórah Benton
Wow may he rests in peace.
I am a bass singer and these guys make me get better.
I really love them
Who are those fellas? Great sound!
jd sumner goes at least an octave below this maybe more.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL VPOCE!!!
Deepest? I guess you never heard of Isaac 'Dickie' Freeman of the Fairfield Four. Listen to Roll Jordan Roll.
& don't forget about Ken Turner, listen to Rainbow of Love
Yes, I was just thinking about Mr. Freeman, and why he wasn't part of this lineup. The thing I liked about Mr. Dickie Freeman of the Fairfield 4, when he sang he never lost the "fervancy or intensity" of the song; he was a natural, God-given bass, he even talked in "bass", jus saying yall!!
JD Sumner
Let's not forget the late great Willie Ford of the Dramatics
Tim Turner from Crystal River Boys much lower.
ken
What about j d sumner???
Hes dead
Ik
Y'all are forgetting Paul David kennamer
Dang, when i put this in my soundbar and bass, the bass is shaking the ground
maybe he was. but no more.
Love the Edsels, great video.
russian oktavists makes this guy sound like a child
That's what I'm thinking.
I'm thinking about Vladimir Miller, compared to him this guy is a woman.
That's because they use throat-singing for low notes.
You should read more about REAL oktavists
They use chest voice for low notes
Tony Perri subharmonics mATE
Definitely some of my all-time favorites as well. Speaking of Isaac, nobody, but nobody like him. Thanks for commenting
Name of the Band?
he has never heard of Russian orthodox singing
