You probably dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the new series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf lately :)
You're video showed more tips that were little but much more helpful. I'm definitely gonna apply your methods to my 44 glove. Thank you. I subscribed as well 👍🏼
All I do to break in my gloves is Stretch the laces and play catch. flare the thumb and pinky as I play catch. I'm too scared to put water on my gloves lol
I would be lying if I tried to tell you I did not go and re create and buy this exact glove. Fell in love with it the first time I watched your unboxing.
I have been breaking in gloves for over 60 years. My grandson got a new Pro 44 that I broke in for him absolutely the hardest glove I ever broke in I think I will try your hot water technique.
Your vids are getting better and better, keep it up. Aslo this was very helpful. One more thing, what glove type from 44 is the best option for 2nd base in baseball?
Thanks so much for the encouragement bro! And for second base I would recommend either the basic 44 pro model or if you like having a deeper pocket I’d recommend the 574 pattern. I’m personally a big fan of both but the 574 feels really great. And a second baseman typically ushers a glove either 11.25 or 11.5
The accent color for the denim should be oiled chestnut, I can see an all denim glove with oiled chestnut binding, welting and oiled chestnut web. tan laces and that would be nice too
Hey man! Great video! I just got the Wilson A2000 VG27 (LOVE IT) I just poured the warm water and beat it with a softball.. I don’t get my mallet till the next couple of days. So my question is, do you wet it only once or do you repeat the process? And if so about how many times? Thanks bud
Great question, I would usually do it once only but I’ve done it twice before. It doesn’t damage the glove but you don’t wanna get the glove too wet. If you did it too many times it could dry the leather out which could be fixed by using glove conditioner if it came down to that. But you would be ok doing it a second time
i have an idea for you. do a live stream where the audience designs your glove. you choose the position you want it for, but they choose the model, webs, colours, and every other thing, including the text
So I just got my new 44 outfielders glove, I know you play infield but if there any suggestions on braking in a glove for softball that's different from baseball?
@@ballgloveking yea I've had it for only a day bow and I feel like ibe put 3-4 hours into breaing it in already. Not rushing it just working in the small parts!
Hey, great video and beautiful glove. I’ve been thinking of picking up a 44 for third, so what model would you recommend? Also when can I get one the cheapest? (As in a sale) And one more question, what exactly is the kip palm liner?
I know they have a sale through the end of tomorrow for 20% of and that’s one of their bigger sales so maybe try to take advantage of it. For third I would reccomend 11.75 at the smallest but a 12 inch glove would probably be best.
The kip palm liner is a higher quality liner where your hand actually touches the inside, this allows you to actually pick a color for the liner rather than it being the normal black color. I got it on my last 44 and I honestly think it’s my favorite part of the glove. I say it’s worth the money
Hey man I just got a 44 pro glove and it’s all white with pink laces and binding. Is it okay to do the hot water treatment, I’m just asking so I don’t ruin my glove or have the colors fade?
im too scared to put water on my glove, so i have spent the last 7 months still trying to break mine in (its hard when i dont go at it consistently, and i cant play catch cause of the rona)
May I ask what color on that glove? Is that blond or yellow? I tried to custom a glove with that color on 44 website but couldn't seem to get that right color.
I have/had every manufacturer at some point except Nokona, ssk, all star(i know they're not exclusive to catcher's mitts but that's their bread and butter) and 44. obv with the bigger mlb players they get paid to use certain brands but u do see your share of pros using 44s. not being too familiar with them, are they pretty much 100% custom? I'm assuming they do have endorsement deals. Domingo German jumps at me right away when I think 44, also alvarado castillo and yandy Diaz (still on the rays?) I did my first custom a few weeks ago, a hoh dct..the few 1b 44 customs I saw had the 2x bar lacing...forget what it's called but the same web style rizzo uses. They offer a standard single post 1b web? I've heard the customization is very good and detailed, more than rawlings and wilson. and the price point I've heard is very fair and reasonable. Will prob go custom again for my next glove, 44 would be a good choice? thanks!
Chris Bangert I bet. Their customer service is terrible, in my experience. But as long as I love my glove it will have been worth the wait. Thanks for the vid.
I’m curious if you have any nice gloves you don’t use you would want to sell. My son could use a nice glove, but he doesn’t need a $200+ glove. He’s 10 and plays short stop also.
I just got a black a2000 pedroia fit. I’m really hesitant to hot water it because I’ve never done it before and heard that it can make colors run and make mold grow in the glove.
With an a2000 I would actually highly recommend it. The hot water method was started by Wilson and they recommend doing it to their gloves. Always up to you in the end bro!
When it’s dry it is not heavier and it is always gonna be stiffer than when it was wet. When you use the hot water it loosens it up and it feels great but once it’s dry it’s gonna feel much stiffer than while it was wet. I mostly use the hot water treatment to form the glove not to make it looser
Dane Moberly the water does not damage the glove, the only problem is the color bleeding, I would like to say that you would be fine to do it with black laces but I can’t say it 100% will be ok. I would hate if I told you it would be fine and then it did not work.
Any tips to make sure glove doesn’t get a crease in Palm. My last glove did. I think it’s from forcing it to close when having catch too early? So should you have a catch after you do the steps you went over?
sorry for the very delayed response but yes you do not want to force the glove closed early on as that leads to creasing, I always pound the palm a lot (with a mallet) while breaking it in to avoid it creasing.
Max Beckett I’m super tempted to man, problem is I just know that I wouldn’t use it a ton. If this channel is successful I totally get one at one point!
You're less likely to get creases the slower you break it in. A lot of time creases are formed from forcing the glove to close when it is still really stiff. If you take your time and don't force it to close until it can easily close all the way.
@@ballgloveking thanks, fortunately the one glove I got it on I don't feel it when I'm playing with it but it is a little unpleasant knowing its there every time I slip my hand in lol
Hey man I have another question do you think If I put Vaseline on my glove would it be the same as glove conditioner I’m still have trouble break in my 44 pro stiff first base glove
Chris Bangert I have lived in Illinois and have grown up loving the cardinals went to my first game when I was 2. Keep up the work this was something very important to know to all of the kids that do not know how to break in a glove

Chris Bangert and better yet, maybe some tan paisley
What happened to the yellow and red 44 on the glove wall
I still have it I just need to relace it, struggling to decide what color. Might do something weird like purple and just let the glove be ugly
Badass video, one of the best out there on RUclips
Thanks so much bro
Simple steps.
1. Wet new glove with hot water.
2. Insert baseball in web.
3. Put it under car tire over night.
4. Voahla! Broken in glove!
Why would u put it under a car tire r u out of ur mind

Do you use conditioner after the water treatment? If so, what do you use? If you do, how often do you use conditioner?
When you ordered your 44 glove how long did it take to arrive
It took a little over a month a believe
mine took about a month and a half
For mine 1month 6 days
Mine is currently on week 7 and it’s not even shipped

I just got a new pro 44 and the leather is awesome still breaking it in but just taking my time
Can you flare your glove without doing the hot water treatment
Yes 100%, you just want to keep on flaring them out and eventually they well stay
So I just got my new 44 outfielders glove, I know you play infield but if there any suggestions on braking in a glove for softball that's different from baseball?
No there’s isn’t any major differences, I’d just say with an outfield glove it’s usually nice to have it really broken in so do a lot of work with it
@@ballgloveking yea I've had it for only a day bow and I feel like ibe put 3-4 hours into breaing it in already. Not rushing it just working in the small parts!
Would it be okay to do the hot water treatment on a sky blue and pink glove?
How do you bend the thumb without the hot water?
You just need to constantly pull on it like while playing catch or fielding ground balls
