Nice video. The "squid" you caught were actually calamari, southern calamari Sepioteuthis australis. Squid have an arrow-shaped "tail", with the wings only extending a short length up the mantle (body) while calamari have disc-shaped wings that extend the whole way up the mantle.
I had an 18 foot Hartley. I restored it during lockdown. It was a beautiful boat that handled amazing. Where Di you launch from, looks like a nice spot?
Nooice
Already has subtitles :)
Pretty amazing lifestyle, how’s the traffic on the water, zero to none ! Perfect
Quiet as! Gets even quieter in winter! The whole 24 hours I was out I saw 1 sailboat and 2 trawlers.
Paradise!

Cheers for the info, very much appreciated! And thanks for checking out the video :)
Nice work catching Squid!
Thanks! It was definitely my PB! Tasted delicious and was very tender 😊
I'd love to try fresh Squid!
@@WIFEY-v5e I actually think it’s better after being frozen. It’s more tender. But I think fresh is best for sashimi
Diving went well today! New catch and cook beach Hermit incoming!
Just be careful for upcoming season. Can’t use any part of abalone as bait in a pot!
Thanks mate! No problems there…. I eat them all hehehe
How is it sleeping in the little boat cabin, can imagine it would be super cold in Tassie this time of year
On the water it’s not too bad! A lot warmer on the coast than in the mountains. The little cabin is super snug and warm. Very cozy.

Awesome mate! I just launched from the main ramp at port Arthur, near the caravan park.
@@beachhermit7171 Ahh, looks like a good spot to go exploring over summer :)
