    When I was 15 and fighting with my mom; she said “goddamn it, I’ve done the best I could!”. I looked at her through nearly swollen closed eyes and sneered “it wasn’t good enough” as CPS led me away. I didn’t remember it until I had my son at 22, watched him sleeping, and called her sobbing to apologize. We all cut each other...

    • @bedriddenbeauty6504
      @bedriddenbeauty6504 5 лет назад +13

      That is so heartbreaking, and you were NOT wrong to say what you did to your mom. If CPS was taking you away, do you really think she did the best she could? Life is so complicated, and being a mother is so complicated, but older generations of parents had basically no standard to hold themselves to, and zero accountability. That call should have come from her, in tears, apologizing for not really doing the best she could. I deal with a mother who says the same thing- 'did the best I could'...but my problem is that she never learned from her mistakes, regardless of how much pain they caused me. All the tears, all the begging, and STILL, just says, "I did the best I could." It's so hard to not defend the things she has done, because that is what we do- we protect our parents from judgement, because we don't want them to feel the pain we have felt. We should be the ones being protected, and if we aren't, something is wrong. It's not something easily gotten over, so we blame ourselves to try to make sense of it.
      My heart goes out to you, because my husband has had 6 hour conversations with me, trying to give me perspective on why I was still hurting, because I couldn't understand why she couldn't see why I hurt, and just didn't care like a mother should. It's just about accepting it's not your fault, and your pain is real, and valid. Your pain, Jennifer, is real, and as a mother, you now see that your mom failed you in ways you could never fail your child. I think they can't take responsibility, because if they did, the guilt could kill them- or at least they think it will...but that is NOT on you. Huuuuuug

    • @bettywith2girls
      @bettywith2girls 5 лет назад +8

      If the CPS is taking you away, then things could have been better...just saying. My mom is very toxic to me and my children and for their and my safety, I don't talk to her. If she calls me, it's usually a setup to make me look bad somehow. Don't miss her...and that's sad but a decision she's made and responsible for. I raise my kids completely differently than she raised me, thank God.

      Erika and Tom really have loved each other, in a very real way, for many years, as real husbands and wives do. We need to, as women, encourage women who struggle financially, to seek stability in their partnerships. We all have different things to offer, and the relationships that have the best chance at lasting, are the ones that have BALANCE! We need strength where we are weak, and there is NOTHING wrong with acknowledging that!- weather it's time, money, extra hands...there should be no shame! Even when she talks about difficult parts of her life she focuses on facts and doesn’t show emotions. I still think that if she showed more vulnerability and rawness on RHOBH it would help women. Because it’s real. And she’s sooo real in many aspects, I wish she would show us the pain hiding behind those eyes. #loveandrespecterika

    There's something so...rigid about Erika Jayne. Like she's always on guard, always prepared to attack, constantly correcting the narrative of her life to keep it looking the way she wants it to appear. The fact that her face is as immobile as a stone wall probably doesn't help. Her whole self-presentation is really offputting, like she's telling her life as a story she's rehearsed rather than a life she lived. I'm sure it's a defence mechanism, & there are good reasons why she's the way she is, but I'm 15 minutes in & she's just not interesting. I mean, she SHOULD be interesting, because she's led an interesting life, but it's all so stiff & over-rehearsed. Maybe it's nerves. Or maybe she's just not a good storyteller.

    • @ginao6810

      I know what you mean, but this is a press event. It’s to promote the show and her book. Jenny references the book for many of her questions (as a host is meant to) so her replies are stories she has told over and over. M
      I’ve always felt that Erika has a clear line of what she shares and what she doesn’t. Her storyline’s often revolve around her performances and fashion, which are flashy distractions. She really knows how to play the housewife “game”, as she put it.

      It's low key pathetic. I initially liked Erika because she didn't kiss Van Der Pump's old ass but the way she reacted to Eileen or Teddi is *messed up* and I'm sure she lost many "fans" after those incidents. She's clearly a sociopath.

It doesn't come off as purposely evasive in my opinion and I don't think it is fair to jump to any conclusion dissecting or being a knitpick because she might not answer the way yourself nor anyone else rather would like. She is already in the chair willingly OPEN and somewhat vulnerable to her fans and the entire PUBLIC.

      Kimberly Ball Actually Erika only lasted a very short time on Dancing with the Stars because of that...the judges and she, herself, said the same. Nothing wrong with that...she still is a far better dancer than your average person on the street. I like her but she's just not a professional dancer.

    Erika and Jenny. What a great interview and one thing is not only suggested here, but spoken about is how respecting yourself, looks. These two women are friends and are kind to one another and SUPPORT one another. I love that. Women in Hollywood need to stop finding reasons why another woman is their competition and reasons why they don't like each other and fuel that energy towards support and kind words of encouragement. The one thing about Erika that I love is that she is supportive, honest and is always excited when another woman is doing her thing and is equally excited that Erika is doing here thing. We need to really be that woman. An army is many, not one. That's where the power is.

    Lord I needed to hear this. As a mom in school in a tough program that requires so much time and dedication, but is unbelievably rewarding, I feel like a total failure sacrificing time with my son to succeed in school. Thank you Jenny and Erika for having this interview! I'm going to keep pushing and succeeding for my son and I to have a better future.

    It's kind of amazing to watch this interview given what we know about Erika in 2021. I don't know to what extent Erika was involved in Tom's crimes. However, i feel sorry for the victims who were denied their shot at achieving the 'peace and security everyone strives for in life' because of Tom and Erika's greed and avarice.

      Jess Jones A lot of artistic people are, which is why they need external validation.
      Also think the fact that people constantly talk about her marriage doesn’t help. I don’t think she is a gold digger, but if she were her husband would know, he is not a stupid man at all. They are happy together so just leave them alone!

    I am struggling this season and when I saw the reunion, with liking Erika as much as I used to. I was shocked to see how brutal she was towards Teddy. Erika says she is all about empowering women but the way she spoke to and her actions towards Teddy was the opposite of empowering. I do appreciate Erika saying that she respects fans that have been honest with and to say they didn't like things Erika did or said this season. I also find it difficult to relate to Erika when she says being on the show is a "game." It makes me feel that she isn't being genuine if she is constantly thinking about her next move. While i will always be a fan, I will have to admit I am now more reserved with my feelings towards her. Hope others can see my truth in this and know that we all have our own opinions even if they aren't the same. Much love to my fellow RHOBH fans. ❤️

    This is an excellent interview and Jenny does a great job. I like getting to see the real Erika and not just the 2D version we see on the RHOBC. I think she is really growing on the show and in person. This year I was a bit critical of her as I felt she was a bit of a bully at times. I love the fact that she owns what she says, good or not. I think she is becoming a great role model for young women.

    She said that thing about the contracts that she does not understand but they made me sign it!!! See she’s so innocent I don’t think she even knew about her ex cases lawyers always keep everything close doors and don’t talk about it with their families. People are so cruel to judge her wrong because she was a wife so she was taking care of her business I mean how am I suppose to know my husband is a drug dealer when I am busy working in two jobs and studying I would have never known that because they keep things hush it’s a mans ego they will give you a credit card and you go out and make your dreams come true.

  • @proudmarinemomma827

    People are really slamming her and I don’t think that’s right. We don’t know all the details of their marriage and finances, nor should we. Who are we to cast the first stone? He was older and a lawyer of many years before they married. She would not know of all his business dealings, especially in the type of work he did. Many women don’t know everything involved in their husbands lives, especially when you’re dealing with doctors and lawyers etc.. I’m a nurse and though it’s different, I don’t share all the stressful things that I deal with at work. I would think when you have super busy lives, such as yours and Erika’s, there would be so much that’s not shared because you are so busy and there isn’t enough time in the day. Just my personal opinion. No sense in being a bully to anyone. Whatever is happening, is probably painful and stressful. The courts etc.. will figure out what’s what and deal with it however it needs to. Where is innocent until proven guilty?! Anywho, I loved the interview and it was fun. Thanks! God bless you both!

    Jenny I have loved you since the first time you opened your mouth! I grew up with you, much respect to you and your wonderful family! Erika Jayne, I have so much to say to you, not at you! Where do I begin? You MAKE the show on RHOBH! Just when I was bored you came along. I said who is this woman, I have so much in common with you, maybe different situations, but how you handle them. You are beautiful inside and out, really, I am one of your biggest fan, but not because of RHOBH (well that just made me more into you) but the first time I saw you, I was hanging out at one of the biggest gay night club in New Orleans on Bourbon St. I'm from there so I was hanging out with my large gay entourage as usual, we both know you have to be fabulous to have a bunch of witty, beautiful, loyal gay men, trans, and drag queens for friends. One of your videos played on the large screens all over, blasting with perfect sound and I looked up and saw you, I was mesmerized bc I was kinda like you, even my friends were like "that's you Miss Thang" and I looked you up the next day and watched all of the videos you had on RUclips at the time, then I saw your age and was blown away and so inspired, we are kinda close in age. But then something horrible happened, on my 32nd birthday my boyfriend found me on the floor unconscious, he carried me to the car and flew to the ER, long story short I was diagnosed with aggressive Stage 4 breast cancer hormone positive (so no kids for me) with metastatic bone spiny lesions covering my spine. It stole EVERYTHING from me. So I was home a lot and couldn't do much bc of the horrid chemo and anti hormone meds and an oophremectomy (no more ovaries) was brutally sent into menopause...horrible at 32. I then I spiraled into chronic depression, anxiety on top of ppl I thought were my friends and family. It destroyed my relationship, I went broke because I was told I couldn't work. So I started watching a lot of tv, which I never had time for before. Skip to RHOBH, I watched all seasons then you came on the scene, let me just tell you, you became my fav from day 1! I thought you were so real and fabulous, talented, fashion forward, your team, your husband bc I studied law, which my family pushed me into bc I was so good at debate. Any who's after diagnoses they gave me 18 mos...I was horrified, mad, sad etc. I said to myself, no one is going to put an expiration date on me! I began a huge change in my life, I quit drinking (I was known for my taste of wine, and loved me some vodka as well) I went vegan, I got rid of all of the toxic ppl in my life etc. Now in April on the 16th 2020 it will be 10 yrs! I'm a fighter, I learned at a young age to fight, my dad used to beat me, I was bullied bc I'm originally from Detroit, and my dad moved us to Iowa, which I hated and still do, so I fought through it as an A student, graduated early, had a scholarship to a private art school, then went on to graduate from the U of New Orleans. I'm sorry this is so long. But you get the jist. I am now 42 and you helped inspire me to use my creativity to bring the real me back! You are beautiful, articulate, intelligent, fearless, in your face, unapologetic to who you are, a trendsetter, sexy, real, humble, you don't look like you look instead of fillers that make women look like bobble heads, lol, and the fact that you saw straight thru LVP the sec you met her! Like I did. I just want to thank you a diva and the Queen, Madonna, for continuing to inspire me!!! No one is gonna read this but I don't care! MUAH 💋👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💞💕💖😉🙌🏼🎵
