I was 14 when I saw this and it took me a good 2 weeks to get myself "together" again!! Terrifying film, an absolute classic. Thanks for this Audio/Drama I found it really enjoyable✌️🏴
After watching the clip for the new exorcist sequel I couldn’t resist listening again ! So much debate going on online Yet the fact it is being debated after 50 years to me shows what a phenomenal storytelling of possession & so much more ! Ty for this wonderful upload
I was in my 20's, a woman with 3 male best friends who laughed all the way through and played tricks with ham and pea soup. Thanks to Nick, Jim and Gary, I was never scared. Classic film though
@@mysteriousmagpieHahahaha I thought I recognised that voice but couldn’t place it. They couldn’t be more opposite roles, a horrible and manipulating space emperor and a kindly old priest. 😂
The 70s film is a classic & this radio adaptation is very powerful I really appreciate this radio adaptation has covered more of the book eg the part about the detective looking more in-depth about the director death from Reagan window also the story of the house keepers & the detective relationship with the priest . The book covers so much in-depth aspects of medical research v theological perspective
The 1970’s original exorcist a phenomenal classic/ the 2023 follow up a muddled mess Ellen Burstyn gave perhaps the most "I'm here for a paycheck" performance I've ever seen.
She asked them to increase their offer but the paycheck was actually to pay for a scholarship program. See recent interviews: "My price is a scholarship program for talented students at our master’s degree program at Pace University. That’s my price.” So I then went back and upped their up and ended up getting what I want. And I’ve got a scholarship program for young actors.”
Ellen's performance was the least problematic thing about that movie lol. Though yea her role def seemed an after thought and just a means to trick fans to show up. We get to expect two extra sequels planned no less.
It was WPB Writing & Oscar winning director William friekien that created the unique phenomenon the exorcist. WF was horrified by whom was directing the latest reboot! As he said it was done it’s perfection u can follow it / I wish they came up with original concepts

Fantastic adaptation 👍
Yes it is but who wrote it ? Is it blatty
This version is very good I don’t know who wrote it but it’s good and well acted
The cast is really good - but in particular Father Merrin is played by Ian McDiarmid, best known to most people as Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars

@@Vereid He does have a wonderfully warm and kind voice when he wants to...

Brilliant radio horror although I started laughing when spirit in the sky came on the record player 😂
kind of interesting interpretation, but feels like the cast didn't know it was supposed to be scary

Sad to hear that, have a lot of respect for Ms. Burstyn - but I guess at the age of 90 she's allowed to take it easy if she wants!

@@ADJScreams Fantastic; that certainly beats Michael Caine's story about the house he bought with the fee for Jaws The Revenge.

Legion is the correct following as it’s by the WPB & is incredible in its own right the mixture of humour & terror is well balanced
This was rather good. though I do miss the Mcainbridge demon voice, I think the way they went about it was effective.
I agree
Watched I am legion ( exorcist 3 ) brill film & book
