the showing that even a total stranger can be a comfort as you pass, and how we as humans are willing to risk ourselves for others, even when there is no benefit to us. the way that a connection forms so quickly. the way it's clear he is conflicted about going to her, seeing that everything she touches dies. but he still goes so she is not alone. he holds her tighter even though it is hurting him. the way people interact and bond and form connection is so amazing, and its nice to be reminded of the compassion we are capable of rather than just the pain we can inflict. its so beautiful and I love this little film

Very well executed. But I wish so many of them didn't focus so much on death. Just once it'd be nice to see one where the ending doesn't make you cry.

Maybe death isn’t a negative thing. Cuz how I saw it was them both sacrificing their life’s to safe each other. One’s they did that they made strong connection that after their souls were freed from their bodies a beautiful rose came to life. Maybe meaning this time they were reborn together and not separated.

FINALLY I’VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS ANIMATION FOR 5 YEARS
NO. My heart.... But this is a beautiful representation of love to the end and of nature, how things die and are born again. This is a very good story. I hate it when people/animals die in animations, but I love it when something good comes out of it.
I absolutely love this short film and come here once in a while when I want to see a truly exceptional art and story. Well depicted. Love from India❤️❤️
Such a lovely animation. I really enjoyed it. Very sad that they both disintegrated/ died but what was reborn was very beautiful.

I like the look of the Water Lady, especially that middle ground between not glueing shells or blossoms over her chest, but also not giving her some Dolly Buster job.
2:53 is painful to watch, and a great foreshadowing.

Amazing storytelling the creation of the flower of lotus, so powerful, they didn't even know each other for more than 10 minutes and it got so much chemistry and power the characters that made and incredible love story.

I wonder about the people who make these shorts. They're good, don't get me wrong, but why always the obsession with death and rebirth? Three quarters of the shorts I've seen recently have been about the same thing.
KesselRunner This observation is probably from the fact that death and rebirths are interesting topics and the processes for such phenomena can vary between numerous people. Many animators like to imagine what death and rebirths would be like through their own perspective, with the limit of their own imagination.
@@megamewtwoy8314 Yeah, that makes sense. I just get a little annoyed seeing the same thing over and over. Maybe one of these days we'll have some artists who don't feel like they need to kill anyone in their videos. Maybe...
Because when it all boils down the truth a the matter is it is abt death and life everything we do...The food we eat, our jobs, our lives, our family, you live you die, sacrifices being made, faith lives faith dies it depends on you..life an death is in the power of tongue an so shall it be in the beginning so shall it be in the end..This was a sacrifice of love and love is a sacrifice.
Death is used in stories like this in order to make us appreciate life all the more. To be grateful for what we do have.

I have been writing sad stories too just like "this town" by nial horan and followed by " happier" by bastille from marshmellow. At first in my story entitled "this town" there was once best friends who soon felt in love with each other but then the girl's parents decided for them to live in America and leave paris that's why the couple separated from each other but the boy still didn't gave up he worked hard until he had enough money to live with his girl but someone told him that the girl he was looking for is already a fiance of the richest man in America and they also began as best friends. So he felt sad and heartbrokened and went back on paris sadly and that brings this story to its part 2 entitled " happier" the reason of the girl's force marriage is because of their own business problem her dad said the only way to get their costumers back is to get their daugther a force marriage they really don't like their daughter a force marriage but they will have to because of the boss of the other restaurant he is very mean so in order to have a nice life for their family the girl married the richest man in America who had loved her too but when she told him that she loves him only as a friend the guy understand her and they divorced and separated from each other as man and women because he wants her to be happier and then he helped the girl and her family to talk to the boss of the other restaurant and brought some media and a police and they made the other restaurant pay 1,000 for what they did and the girl's family used the money to return to paris and the girl married her beloved in Paris and had their own home and family and started their own life
Qué bonito, la plantita salvo al humano sabía lo que tenía que hacer a pesar del sacrificio. El humano no sabía ni reaccionaba sólo se compadeció de ella y la acompañó en la muerte. Eso es lo que nos pasará si no cuidamos a la tierra. Muy buena enseñanza.

The best end would have been if his love saved her live and made everthing Bloom again and then they lived together in Peace, the perfect happy end

I watched this exactly 5 yrs ago, I had nightmares about this animation till this day I still don’t get it why I used to get horrible nightmares from this film
I kind of get why, think about it. You meet a sweet person that you think you love then they immediately have something bad happen and since you don’t want them to go alone you stay with them for the last few minutes and you go too. I would be scared too, but he did the right thing for her ❤.
This made me want to cry 😢. Why did they have to die 😭❤️. They were so cute together and they only saw each other for a few minutes 😭😭😭😭😭😭.

OKay I come back years later and I feel like this story was about cancer, which I think could make sense cuz well she's losing her hair and also getting pretty dang ill if I am wrong it it still a beautiful animation.
