    Ollie’s casting is now so good, he works for the French Government catching small inflatable boats in the English Channel. Well done Ollie! 😉
    Joking aside, this video is brilliant, thank you for making it 👍

    Great toturial about surfcasting ( Continental beach casting) Now, you should do another tutorial about the OH (over head) cast and the famous OTG (off the ground) cast. I'm 54 and have doing surfcasting fishing all my life, and this is a good tutorial for beginners. I will love people to get more into surfcasting, this sport is a passion soon you start to get on it, I'm just love it.
    Well done Dean and keep up with the good work.

    Absolutely amazing tutorial, great to see left and right handed examples, only just getting into fishing in my mid 20s thanks to the lockdowns. Hoping I can impress my old man by being able to cast off correct on our first proper trip. Huge thanks, I’ll be back to watch others for sure

    Twisting the body ( making coil strength) which added to the whole casting power is a must for powerfull casts .it’s almost active n nonactive body movement , nice daminstration btw , tight lines.

    This a late comment. A great breakdown of the casting process. Does Glynn have a martial arts background? His transfer of power from the stance, through the hips to the shoulders and arms is classic karate training. The best explanation of a cast anywhere on the internet. Thanks for the great video.

    What weights are you guys using that cannon for? In NJ, during the fall-run on the oceans, we're throwing at least 8+oz plus a fish head for massive striper.
    I used to slice my hand up a lot because I was pulling the braid all the way to the rod while casting. That snap outward is what slices you. If you hold the anchor point about midway between the rod and spool, the snap that occurs is way less and the slicing stops.

    I am a freshwater fisherman and I cast heavy lures (up to 10 OZ/ 230 gr). I'm trying to figure out what technique to use to cast lures without breaking my back and shoulder. Otherwise I have to stay still for weeks, it causes inflammation. In your opinion, which technique is to be considered appropriate for this type of casting? Thank you very much

    What are your thoughts on using a Braid shock leader onto braided line. For example an 80lb Braid leader onto 20lb braid main line?

    • @cantfindafeckinid
      @cantfindafeckinid 3 года назад

      It's good but I would up the size of the shockleader a wee bit for better abrasion resistance.

    • @tomhath8413
      @tomhath8413 3 года назад

      Shock leader should be monofilament, because it stretches to absorb the initial shock of the cast. Braid and fluorocarbon don't stretch enough.

    Thank you for this video. How far did you manage to cast on this occasion? and what is the average distance?
    I am new to fishing hence this might be a stupid question but I would like to set a logical distance for me.
