      After being in the sport for more than 10 years and in the industry for the past four years, 2010s bikes are the best for me as the majority of them use regular internal routing, like this 2016 TCR Advanced SL.
      I'm also saying this as somebody that can work on integrated internal routing solo.

      @@yonglingng5640 I've decided to take a risk and bought from Taiwan, internally routed, aero frame (2022) model for rim brakes this year (2024), and build a killer looking bike. Not to mention I've spent few hours extra to agree with the manufacturer (ELVES) the custom paint scheme. They offer it in the price. How cool is that? Delivery to Europe - like 4-5 weeks without additional fees. That literally made my birthday.

    That's a great bike, I bought this exact same TCR for under £500 2nd hand and you're right about the positioning it's very aggressive and, even my own with standard spec and 2017 Tiagra, it's fast, especially compared to most expensive new bikes I see around. I prefer my old Propel though mainly because it fits me much better and I find it's faster

    FYI: if you ever get shifting issues that you can't diagnose, it's the plastic cable *mounts* that go into the frame near the headset. You can buy new mounts (with attached 'internal routing' tubes) for a few quid of giant bike spares. Common issue with this frame - easily solved (I have the frame, have had it - and a close friend had similar issues!)

The new TCR has tubeless width capacity of 34MM allowing it to be used for some light gravel. Love the shorter chain stays which allows for greater acceleration. Would love a Disc version. Respect for using an older model with second hand parts here and there and good luck this season.
    I think it'll be a few years yet, but I predict rim brake road bikes will make a solid come-back. 99% of road riders don't race, need discs or have the ability to maintain a hydraulic brake system. The benefits just aren't there for the everyday roadie.

    • @johnmilner7425
      @johnmilner7425 2 месяца назад

      Hydraulic brakes are pretty easy to maintain. No more difficult than rim rims brakes just different. Years ago when first introduced to mountain bikes I'd have agreed but now things have moved on considerably. The only issue for me wirh a road bike is the size of the hoods but that again has inproved over the years.

    Sorry, but the pulley wheels actually look stupid. Beside that great bike you have. Try modern carbon wheels maybe? Pretty damn stiff! Many of them you might build on DT240 hubs for some extra cash spent on them. Like ICAN, Winspace, Envy or some other brand, thinking 40-50 mm deep section wheels. Not sure how these C50 wheelset was built, but looks dated a bit. Anyway, I've disassembled my old *lightweight* ultegra wheels from the past (WH-6700) - hub itself was bit more than 150 grams. So? I've bought for the same wheel some Bitex hub with press fit bearings and it was barely 91 grams for a front wheel. Imagine how much would it be for rear one?!

    Got me at the start but lost me when you started to show all fake parts. Because with the money you spent on all the unnecessary "upgrades" (fake ospw, fake bars and bottle holders ) you could just save money and for exchange buy an upgraded ratchet so you would have all 12 gears. At least this is my opinion... other than that awesome video 🤙
