My Dad is from Syracuse and he moved us to Cleveland when we were young but he always followed the team. I remember when syracuse won it he was so happy and that was the emotion ive ever seen out of him. I became a huge cavs fan as soon as we got to Cleveland and in 2016 they won the championship and i remember thinking how my dad was so happy about this and the comparisons of us rooting for are teams. Were both Browns fans if somehow they could win a Superbowl i might get a hug from my dad lol
It was a special time. Syracuse been there before. To win against Kansas and Roy Williams was a great time. The Texas game was something. Warrick had 2 highlights a dunk and block.
that's why my boy melo and bron my favorite players Boyz really made it from the trenches.... man's was living in bmore home of the show the wire 🔥🔥🐐🐐😭
Yeah well that's only because he left Kansas for Carolina! That move totally altered the landscape of college basketball because there's no telling where Carolina would be had Roy not taken the job! I think alot of people fail to put that into perspective! It wasn't a guarantee or close to one until Bob Frederick had stepped down as Kansas AD! Now I think with Roy having retired it gives those Carolina fans who act all spoiled and arrogant a chance to lessen taking Roy for granted! Reflection will hopefully do that
Not really! Syracuse has beaten Indiana in every game they have played since 1987 do you know what that one game was? The national championship! As a cuse fan I would rather have the championship then the 10 ish wins
Did u seriously misspell the name of the HOF Coach in the description??? Cmon man, make the correction, it’s ridiculous and disrespectful. NCAA?? Nice example!?!!?? Coach Jim Boeheim is a legend.
Am I the only one who feels like Carmelo spent his entire NBA career eating a garbage diet or something? He's always been super talented, just feels like he's wasted some of his potential. Like, he's just coasted his entire career and was still a star talent. Be honest: he's always looked kinda doughy. You know I'm right.
People fail to realize instead of what they just believe or feed off others opinions that had Carmelo been in the right situation he'd have had a better chance at flourishing and showing off his complete game! Players careers can be greatly influenced by the team they play on! Melo is a prime case of a career being directly affected due to what's around him just like Jahlil Okafor! When a player isn't used right or provided necessary talent around him it diminishes his overall performance
I always say that The 'Cuse has Keith Bogan's blown hamstring to thank, because, if it wasn't for that, Kentucky would had won the national title that year. Plain & Simple.
That Kentucky team had a lot of good players, but no transcendent talents like Wade or Anthony. They weren't quite title material with how many good teams there were; they had trouble getting past Wisconsin.
That is a concern for all teams... Got to have your starters healthy the whole season. I mean that 2003 season they didn't win the Big East Tournament.
@@theodoredavidmooney5703 And a bit of added irony - UConn would go on to lose to the same Texas team in the Sweet 16 that Melo and the Cuse took out in the national semifinals
Thank you for everything Carmelo Anthony and congrats on your Retirement. You may have ended your NBA career ringless but you will always have this.
This never gets old. Aside from the days my children were born this was the best day of my life.
😶
Get a different life
“HE IS UNCONSCIOUS TONIGHT” Gives me chills every single time
Thank You from Start to Finish! I commenced a year thereafter. MacNamara and Carmello made it so memorable even now, years later! #GoOrange
Hakim Warrick was the Xfactor on that team.
He should've been on the banner with Melo and Gmac.
Duany Billy E and Pace were huge too, but I have my autographed poster of the Texas tea bag dunk it's my favorite poster.
Hard agree. Warrick was a FREAK athlete.
For us in the CUSE, before Curry there was McNamara
It doesn't get any better than this...

Diehard cuse and browns fan here, never thought I’d hear of someone else with the same combination😂

R.I.P. Fab Melo ( not to be confused with Carmelo)
that team he was on had great potential.. a shame he wound up bein ineligible.. he had improved greatly.
This video should get quite an uptick in views after today 3/8/23...Jim is a living sports legend
I love happy endings
Great guys, great effort, got it done!!
315 for life!!! Southside baby!!!
I was only 315 until I turned 18. Then moved South. Lol

Wonderful video. Thanks 🙏🏼
greatest college basketball player ever
Him and Derrick Colman...
Melo's impression of Coach B is funny.
Melo didn’t know at the time that this would be his last championship. Dude been waiting 20 years for another one
More then u will ever have 🤡
My Cousins Munchie, and Bassy wasn't Out of High School in Bessemer and Birmingham, Alabama
Well, Roy Williams moved to North Carolina the next season and notched up a 10-4 record vs bohemian so I’d call it even

They is a high school player who was considered better than this guy who was showing levels to college players as a freshman.
Oklahoma state meltdown changed history

Hey Tom, thanks for the heads up. The description has been corrected.
GMac deserved to get drafted to the NBA.. every team dropped the ball on that one.. 🤦🏿🤦🏿🤦🏿

You right. You didn’t have the write all that to make your point tho.
@Davor Ban melo should have gone to the bulls. If he wanted to stay in new york then he should have gone to the nets.

I dont think Carmelo enjoyed the NBA. I think he enjoyed his year at Syracuse and didn't want to leave but knew he had to for his family..
LeBron was the best collage player ever…….oh…….

It was a sprained ankle.. And Marquette would of still smoked kentucky.. D wade was a monster!!
