  • We took a day trip to Salem, MA from Boston. Salem is known as the Witch City due to its history and infamous witch trials. We visited some of the witch-related locations, such as the Witch House, the Salem Witch Trails Memorial, and a few Hocus Pocus filming locations. We toured the home of Salem’s former resident, author Nathaniel Hawthorne. Naturally, we toured the House of the Seven Gables, which inspired Hawthorne’s novel. Not only that, but we were able to visit Nathaniel Hawthorne’s birthplace, as well!
Salem was also an integral shipping port, during its early history, so we explored the Salem Maritime National Historical Site, including the replica of the Friendship and the Derby Wharf. There are so many things to do in Salem, MA but we did our best to fit in as much as we could during our day trip there.

You should have gone to the Peabody Essex Museum. Best attraction in the city
But traveling by train to Salem is smart. No traffic, and you are dropped off right outside the touristy area

I was in Salem on October, and it's impossible to walk around, there's too much people, I prefer to go another month.
