⁴ᴷ NYC Subway: R62a Mixed Consist on the 6 Line

Here we see an R62a mixed consist in service on the 6 line. The first 5 cars of this train are 1921, 1937, 1910, 1930, and 1925 which are non-sequential car numbers. Likely, these different cars were put together due to the missing cars requiring maintenance or they probably retired. The least 5 cars are 1746-1750, which gives an idea of how car numbers on trains should be normally.

It’s clear that some of these are from the Shuttle, owing to 1930 missing the colored yard stickers.

The mis-mated car numbers are actually single units that were previously used on the (7) and the 42nd Street (S).

Back into the 1970s when almost every train was composed of single units

Those cars used to be on the 3 Broadway line and the 1 Broadway line had those 1921 1925 and then on the 7 Flushing line and now on the Pelham 6 line.

Could they at least get 1922,23,24 to connect with 1921 & 25 in order to convert 5 car sets straight

(3) only runs from 14 St to 148 St
(2) in 2 sections:
First section from Wakefield 241 St to South Ferry, running local south of 34 St Penn Stn
Second section from Atlantic Barcalays to Flatbush Av Brooklyn College
(4) makes all local (3) train stops from Franklin Av to New Lots Av
