Yep I’m done with pickups. Never thought I’d consider a Subaru instead but with full time AWD, twice the mpgs and 10x’s the quality for 1/2 the price,….they can shove these bloated, overpriced soccer mom and city boy show trucks up their rectum! I’ll beg, borrow or rent a pick when I really need one.
1. In the past, Ford sold sedans (Taurus, Fusion, Focus, Fiesta, and Mustang). Now, only the Mustang remains. I prefer basic sedans, but Ford walked away from buyers like me, so I have to shop elsewhere.
2. Also, there are too many electronic gizmos on new cars that I will never use, but they add to the price of the car.

I agree things have gotten out of hand with gadgets on cars. Air conditioning yes but all the other gadgets no.
The most practical fun car for me was a 1978 Honda civic which I bought brand new in Toronto for $ 4,999.00.
Damn it I miss those days.
Not to mention to use the electronic additions requires you have an incredibly steady hand and to take your eyes off the road longer than normal to know where to tap on the freaking screen
I want to say a lot of the cars shared certain parts which would make the other ones not as expensive and I reckon the parts shouldn't be as expensive and more plentiful when you go to buy them!
A Ford truck (even though it's a Shelby)going for almost $200k is crazy and inexcusable. No pickup truck should be having a MSRP for anywhere near that price
The United States is ruining the car industry. Hopefully the brics countries will make simple cars with quality transmissions and engines and not all this freak show garbage that the US government is forcing manufacturers to impose on vehicles

All I have ever purchased is Ford my entire life. Both grandfathers, uncles and friends worked for FMC. My next vehicle will be a Nissan or Mazda, it is shameful what they have become and they are WOKE 😢😢
I regularly bought new cars up until 2018. My salary did not increase with vehicle prices. I won't be able to buy a new vehicle ever again.

I really prefer a full size truck to a Maverick but GMC was more than double a comparably equipped GMC Sierra SLE-1 than my 2009. So I bought a Ridgeline Sport For $41060 OTD. Still tows my Ranger Bassboat.

Leading the Industry the last 5 years in recalls, worst initial quality etc. All the Automakers are producing overpriced junk, cheap plastic, and aluminum rolling computers. Those prices are absolutely insane and ridiculous. NOT affordable by any standard. I’ll stick with my older Toyota Avalon and 4Runner. Very reliable with many miles
Why would anyone want a truck if they were using them like cars?
I had a truck simply to be higher and safer in the snow, disregards the fact that I live in large city. And to be able to push inside more groceries, and for people with sedans will be harder to bump my doors with their doors. It was my daily commuter to the office and served me excellent way.

I unfortunately postponed ordering a 2024 F150 Lariat with 5.0L, in Antimatter Blue & with the Smoked Truffle leather. But now, I learned for 2025 that Ford cheaped out & will only have vinyl seats available for the Lariat!! WTH, Ford?!? 🤔 So they raise the MSRP & give us less? Great move, Fat Farley.
Looks like a Chevy or GMC will be in my garage sometime soon, as I've had it with Ford (30+ years Ford only guy)!!

Ford can be saved to compete. They have cut costs in cfo salaries an executive salaries and bonus. Increase pay for factory works and make your products reliable and easy to fix. And cut advertisement in half. Save money there .

Actually, for the most part, across the GM group of companies, they sold more trucks than Ford.
Even the 5 liter V8 I'd be hesitant to get ,because of the cylinder deactivation.
Probably going to be troublesome in the future, same as the turbocharged engines.

My 2022 Maverick is my third Ford and probably my last. My first two Fords, a 1997 F150 and a 2000 Ranger were VERY reliable, but even though I haven't had any issues with my low mileage Maverick, the Maverick forum is filled with reliability issues and recalls.
Honestly, I no longer trust Ford to produce a reliable, long-term vehicle, so I plan on replacing my Maverick with a RAV4 hybrid or Prime in the next 1-2 years.
You didn't buy correct cars unfortunately. Downgrading your car to RAV4 or Prime will be same like sharing your fork during dinner.

Got to vouch for my 2020 f250 7.3 Godzilla. 100,000 hard towing miles and the engine/tranny running like new still. Heck of a machine. No def fluid is niiice too😊

Having owned dozen or more new/used Ford vehicles, not one ever stranded my family or self. Had one Nissan, had to be towed multiple times.

My last F150 was an 05 model. It was a loaded XLT I got for less than 27k. I haven’t owned one since 07.

Hybrids are not where "the market is going", it is where the market is being pushed by legacy manufacturers because they make a crucial mistake with EVs -- they looked at EVs as simply taking an existing ICE vehicle and just swapping out the power train and calling it a day. The reality is if you re-engineer the vehicle to be EV from the ground up, you get a vastly superior product. That's what Tesla did with giga-casting, 48V architectures, ECU consolidation, and structural battery packs. That's what Hyundai is doing with 800V drive architecture. That's what the new Chinese manufacturers who didn't have to re-tool old factories and replace old, ingrained processes are doing.
Building a brand new vehicle where even the frame and body parts are a completely different process is EXPENSIVE and time consuming. You can't share many parts with the legacy stuff. But with hybrids, you can build on essentially the same manufacturing line as ICE but just with tweaks. You aren't doing an entirely different frame or body panels. Changes to your wiring harnesses are minimal in comparison. You can pivot instead of having to run and entire new race in an entirely new direction.
The pivot to hybrids is a move of desperation, trying to buy legacy manufacturers time to get back in the race before they die off.
The US Government said today that they will no allow Chinese software into the country, and that includes EV software.
The government is protecting the Big 3, but they were also the one that caused the problems with a dash to EV when we are not ready.
Hopefully the Ford execs will look at BYD and decide that they will have to bring prices down, and bring reliability back up.
When I need a pick up I just rent one, way cheaper than the staggering monthly payments to buy one. I could spend a few grand and get a small trailer my Lexus ES350 could pull. Ford does'nt make cars...no domestic does anymore. Just insane prices.....

It’s coming, watch as the numbers show that the dealers and OEMs are struggling with sales. Sales are advertised as great but that’s the factory havi no sent out a vehicle. That’s considered sold, and the dealers with most brand s are largely only pitching to fleets. Watch as the Chinese market rolls in, and have you seen what’s going on with Stellantis, VW and more in closing factories as they are running out of capital. These are unprecedented times.
You can still buy a Maverick in the US under 27K.
Work for Ford for over two years as a specialist and can say most of this is absolutely nonsense the Maverick doesn’t start at 50K

@@janetyeoman1544 Maverick could be marked up by dealer. They are not that expensive when ordered. When order calls open absolutely order even if you’re not interested you can always get deposit refunded as well. Dealers want that vehicle to up charge.

If they know their crappy engines that they build don't last, why don't they just start building good quality engines with good quality internal parts? Yeah! It's going to be expensive but is it a lot cheaper than having to pay out on all these recalls? With this day and age the public is more educated about cars and recalls and everything wrong with them now so why do these greedy CEOs and shareholders keep forcing these crappy quality cars and parts? It's not just Ford it's also the other manufacturers. It's just a matter of time before we hear about some of the new modern Chevy trucks yeah! They're selling but what about in 3 years from now when things start breaking on them also? Some of these greedy shareholders and CEOs need to go and these companies need to start over and start building quality parts and let their shareholders know they'll have to take a little less profit and to build good quality vehicles and in the long run they'll make up all that profit as time goes on . These companies are so stupid I don't understand why they want to keep having to fix all these recalls just completely idiotic. And these American companies also need to start building their own parts having their own tooling facilities to build their own internal parts. And if all these brand new vehicles at these Ford dealership lots all have the same engine why don't they just recall all those cars that are on the parking lot and get rid of them they're just going to have the same problem so why even sell them to the public?

The blue collar buyer's of the F-150 can no longer afford them. We have all been priced out of the market. Who is going to buy all these overpriced vehicles. My first new 79 F-150 was a ranger xlt 4wd and $8k. Was affordable except for jimmy Carters 18% interest rates. So I got rid of my last new purchased 2020 F-150 and monthly payment and restored a rust free 79. Done with new vehicle purchases. Ford just lost a blue blood lifetime customer. Now my family is buying subaru ans so well built and affordable. I purchased about 100 new fords personally and for my business and now retired. Glad I put some of those old fords away.
