You’re one of the good guys bro. Appreciate you coming when I was stuck the other day man. Glad to see good folks still exist in this world. I always try to be decent and help others, wish more folks would. Be good brother.
with all these challenges out there these day you should start a fire hyd clearing challenge great work as always dizz you need a hot chocolate and have tina warm your feet after that LOL stay safe you guys lumpy
All that exercise shoveling out the hydrants keeps you in shape. No gym membership necessary! And yes, everyone should be shoveling out their nearest hydrant!
DIZZY!!!....YOU MY FRIEND HAVE SOUL!!! PRIDE AND DEDICATION AS WELL TO YOUR CITY...ITS PEOPLE...AND YOUR FIRE DEPT. Every single person with a plug in front of thier home ought to make it a priority to adopt it...and take care of it. I know to some...its too much manual labor....but a burried hydrant can make a difference in a loss of life and property!! Thank you dizzy for doing it...i wont ever hook to a plug in WORCESTER...but im very humbled by it just the same!!!!
Good and generous man, Dizzy! I don’t know of anyone else anywhere that does this! Also all of your work snowblowing your area. 🎉 Dangit! I wanted to add that Tina is a real sweetheart to ride along and keep you company. Hot chocolate time!! 😋
I guess they shoveld out the side towards their homes not thinking that the whole damn thing needs cleared. Good job Udizzy i guess people just don't care about the hydrant being open and visible. ✌️👍
When I was stationed in Plattsburg, New York, we had a new firefighter transfer in who was from Buffalo and he said that down there, they put 55 gallon drums over the fire hydrants and had those orange flags on poles to mark them. Then when it snowed, all they had to do was clean out around the drum and break it loose. Saved a LOT OF TIME AND ENERGY.
You go Diz.! When I was on the job in Shrewsbury, we would be sent out to shovel hydrants after a heavy snow. Some hydrants were so low to the ground they were difficult to find, and some were impossible to locate. I remember one in particular. It was near Main St. and Ireta Rd. We spent an hour looking for that damn thing. I think we finally found it and it was not where we though it was supposed to be.
Hey you dizzy need more people like you to go around cleaning out fire hydrants for the fire departments also you should have a snow blower it will work a lot better that's what we used to use when I was with the fire department be safe God bless and happy holiday
Who is that masked man digging around those buried fire hydrants? Worcester Fire should bring you a box of Joe and a dozen donuts! The people who live in those houses next to those hydrants should wake up and think about what a fire in their house would do, if access to the hydrants were delayed. My brother in Norwood always digs out the hydrant next to his house, if he doesn't do it right after a storm, the old guy from across the street comes over and digs it out, kinda shaming my brother like some kinda slacker, I don't have any hydrants in my town. Wowser, I'm getting tired just watching all the snow being shoveled.
UDizz and wife, I lost track of number of hydrants cleared so please fill in (X) and that will be the number of THANK YOU'S I'm sending to you from no snow Las Vegas.
Your a good man Diz! Not a lot of people would do that! I would! But the people here on the west coast don’t hurt themselves to do shit! The man out here in Oregon are NOT men there a joke! Instead of a helping hand they will sit there with a phone videoing or there quick to tell a women off and not a man. Not a place to live and it’s getting worst. So god bless you for a helping hand. We may be massholes but we are good people! 😉
I cant speak for Worcester but most of the hydrants around here are cleaned out by volunteers. What if there is a fire before the Fire Dept gets to the hydrant on your street ? Dizzy is showing a good example for his neighbors here.
