- No. 1 Stanford plays No. 2 Louisville in the Elite Eight of the 2021 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
After a slow start, the Cardinal dominated the second half, outscoring the Cardinals 52-25 in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Junior guard Lexie Hull led Stanford with 21 points and added 9 rebounds. The No. 1 overall seed advances to the Final Four.

Down most of the game, the Stanford come back is impressive. Down by 14 with 6:54 left in the 3rd quarter, the resolve of the team to grind how showed maturity and character when facing a challenge in a high pressure moment. Kudos to all the scholars athletes on both sides.
I hope Stanford wins it all.
Louisville just didn't have enough to hang all 4 quarters, that won't be a problem with South Carolina, they are battle tested with the #1 SOS and ready for anybody including Stanford.

Can’t even be mad as UofL fan. Our ladies fought hard. Stanford is just ridiculously good. They throw a lot at you and once they start heating up it’s hard to slow them down. I hope they win it all.
Louisville got killed on the boards, that is why they lost this game. Stanford will have to play a lot better to have a chance vs. South Carolina.

Watched the whole game. Once Prechtel came in I had a bad feeling. They toyed with our squad for 2.5 qrtrs & then played for real. They NEVER called a timeout, which seemed odd until the run: They freakin' KNEW they were gonna win! Amazing how even the 2nd best team is always light-years (FLOABT) behind the top team.
Louisville had a great team, those Stanford cards had great size along with a great team. Hope you all win the whole thing, congrats. From a Louisville fan

Stanford is good, but South Carolina is on a mission after last years team was robbed, Dawn has the team playing so well right now they will be tough to beat.

Prechtel and Williams are a deadly duo. They're both great on offense and defense. They're two of the most valuable assets on the team, and there's plenty more where that came from on the Stanford bench. 😉

I think the Elite 8 Games were the hardest, best & most exciting by far for the tournament, Especially games like UConn Huskies & Baylor Lady Bears, that easily could of been the championship, which I know the region bracket won’t let them meet but at least the final Four then, same thing with Stanford & Louisville they should of meet up in the final 4 at least, well I’m not saying UConn & Stanford will have it easy in there next games but there most likely for sure playing the Championship game against each other it’s going to be Epic , what a Dream Championship Game

Stanford having some big trouble with Louisville, South Carolina just may give them a run, Either one can’t beat Baylor, and non will beat UConn, Stanford hasn’t played anyone with a real good defense, south Florida is the closest and they are seated 16th and Stanford had a hard time winning against them every time they meet this year. @Buff Guy hahaha South Carolina is by far not 2, Baylor lost get over it. one person is not the team for an entire game, up 10, then lost lead and got ran over with a 19-0 deal, any team that allows that doesnt deserve to win. Baylor was seeded wrong yes, but they still lost to UConn, and Richards already gave Paige 20pts before she left, Baylor stressed in the press conference after they beat Michigan that their roster goes deep, well guess that was BS, haha Baylor fans just cant handle they lost to a freshmen dominated team.
@Buff Guy there are 4 quarters, and you have no argument becuse a team had a lead in the middle of the game and not at the end. hahaha like i said no 1st place team gives up a 10pt lead and let a 19-0 point run happen, a second place team allows that. Baylor is definitely not number 1, Baylor got their asses kick in by Arkansas, and stomp out by Iowa State, go home your drunk, come back when you have better stats.

Louisville lost because they don’t shoot the ball, they seem to expect a basket without actually taking a shot, Hailey needs to step up and start to shoot, can’t believe how many time she was open and never took a shot, most of them are like that, hold on let’s have Dana shoot 20+ first then the ready of the team can shoot. Hahaha Louisville has the talent, they just seem like someone has them held down. Beginning of the year Hailey was smashing 20+ then all of a sudden she stopped taken shots and nobody was passing to her, hopefully she stands tall next season and gets more aggressive with the ball on the team or just transfer to a more “team player” team. For as little as she does shoot she does have a decent shoot percentage, 43%Gg of course all this is my opinion.
