- We spend a few days in the picturesque towns in the Alsace region of France. Staying in Colmar we visit Kayersberg, Turckheim, and Equisheim. Ending with a visit to the Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg.

The Castle is a German castle the French stole. It was the castle of the Staufen family
This Castle is a French castle, because he is in France. The Alhambra in Spain is a spain castle, not a muslim castle. ;)
What is a CALIFORNIA SEQUOIA tree that is 200 years old doing in Colmar France?

We took our trip through France in late September.
Did you visit the towns near Colmar with your own rental car, or go on a day-trip tour? If you had your own car, could you please tell me if finding parking in the small towns was a problem. (We have plans to go here in early fall, 2020.) Thanks!
We had our own car. The only time we had a problem parking was at the new wine festival. After driving around for a short time we got lucky and found a parking space just about a 5 minute walk to the center of town. The other towns had plenty of parking available.

From what I know it is just the region has been claimed by both France and Germany over the years. I really don't know the details.
