Requires BE/BTech/ME/MTech degree from recognised University & License by Muncipal Corp/ Gov't.For Valuer, registration with IT Dep't ( Income Tax Dep't ) is must. Architects (BArch/MArch)/ Town Planners (MTP) are NOT Engineers. There is lot of legal difference between words Consultant & Consultant Engineer/ Consulting Engineer. Real Estate/Building Valuer should be preferably Consulting Engineer (Civil). Membership of IEI & registration as CEng/PE highly preferred though not required for any Consulting Engineer in India. However in USA, PE registration by State Licensing Board is must for all Consulting Engineers
