Hi I honestly can relate, I am in a similar position now. I took a gap year to reapply, I got offer at Bristol university but sadly on Thursday (results day) found out that I didn't get the grades so lost my offer. Went through clearing and now will be studying biological science. Right now I feel so upset but im trying to be positive. What advice would you give on how to prepare for to apply for GEM? can you apply from 2nd year or its has to be during 3rd year?
    Thanks

Hi Azyza, thanks for your comment and I'm so sorry to hear you lost your offer. I understand how it feels, but I just want to encourage you to keep working at it! Congrats on getting in to study biological science! I hope it's going well so far :) Also, thanks for inspiring my next video as I'll post one addressing your question about applying for GEM soon. If you haven't got a degree already, the earliest you can apply will be during 3rd year but I'll go into more detail in the video! Feel free to comment on here or email me if you've got any other questions!

hi, I'm sitting my ukcat in a few weeks and I was wondering what is a safe score for ukcat for a graduate applicant. I love your videos

Hi Ruth! I'm glad you do! I hope you've found some of the information useful! A safe UKCAT score that would get you an interview for most grad/undergrad medicine courses can be quite variable! It really depends on the uni and whether you are applying for 4 or 5 year courses. 5 year courses tend to have lower UKCAT requirements than 4 year courses, but again, it depends on the uni. A score of above 700 would be 'safe', with SJT band 1/2 although bear in mind some unis have higher cut off scores than that! So aim to get even higher if possible. Saying that, if you get a score below 700/lower SJT banding, all is not lost, as there will still be some unis you can apply to, and it may just mean you have to apply to more 5 year courses, or take another admission test.
Here are a few links that may be useful:-
      * How unis use the UKCAT - www.ukcat.ac.uk/App_Media/uploads/pdf/Using%20my%202016%20UKCAT%20Result.pdf
      * Freedom of Information requests can also be quite good as universities are asked to release their latest admission data which can give you the most up to date cutoff score to work from. www.whatdotheyknow.com/search/A101/all
All the best with your UKCAT test! You got this! Efi :)

Hey! I'm so glad you found it useful! Sure - you can contact me at wonderingwarriorette@gmail.com. I actually didn't have to take the BMAT for Imperial as they used that UKCAT when I applied! I look forward to hearing from you! Hopefully I can help a bit! :)
