In my humble opinion, N3FJP programs are the best. I purchased the full license so I can use any of the many different programs and get the upgrades when they come out. Scott is the best!
The problem I have is that most of the logging software is far more than I need. I don't do contests so I don't need an all bells and whistles. I downloaded one that had a 257 page manual. I'm seriously considering sticking with my paper version.
I wish this was a more balanced answer. It sounds like a commercial for N3FJP. I think Dave ought to just say that ACLog is his reference log in his reference station. But he sounded a little off his game tonight, I hope you get over the cough and Happy New Year. De WO8USA🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Logger32 is IMHO the best general purpose station log on the planet (and I have tried most of them), it comes with more features than you can shake a stick at, is regularly updated and it has a fantastic user manual. It is the one programme that keeps me using Windows. The Linux users should check out cqrlog, it is the best that is currently available for Linux but it is not a patch on Logger32 or many other Windows based loggers for that matter. Linux is really lacking in this area, sadly. I believe Logger32 runs under wine so that might be an option for some. For contesting N1MM is fantastic or if you're after a contesting logger with a mainly keyboard interface for speed, without features that get in your way but is still full featured SD by EI5DI is hard to beat.
Hi Dave. I am studying for Techn license. WRL is this logging software connected to the FCC database? ALSO, I don’t know what you mean by “Contest” can you explain that?
Hi Dave, I have some questions about solar flares HF and crystal radio (with primitive materials) but I have no callsign as neither radio hardware (yet), so I wish your consideration the the email will send you today that It was ready month ago but as I was unable to get an callsign am just ask for the opportunity to read my question.
when I first got licensed , it was required by law to log every transmission, even test transmission. once those requirement is gone, I think stop logging transmission. AG6JU
Log4OM is my preferred logging software

Dave,
Thank you for the logging info. I use N3fjp and did not know some of the aspects of what the program does.

I use N3FJP and QRZ, both are good logging programs but N3FJP does have more of a learning curve to set up to upload & download to LOTW

I use N1MM+ for contests.
I love N3FPJ’s software! BTW, hope you can beat that cough Dave. Happy New Year!
Still wondering where all the Park numbers come from? 73.WW5MB

Is there any good working logging software for Linux?
SmartLogger works on all platforms including Linux.
Thanks Dave !
Very helpful video, I have been lost in the sea of logging options, so this is great info! Are you reading my mind, or what?

I think I came out more confused!🙁
That’s all fine well and good if you use Windows! What about us Linux guys? N3FJP is only available for Windows!
