It sounds like somebody really close to her died some time ago... At least thats what im feeling after listening to this song and roses. Maybe im just not understanding the lyrics quite well, but sounds like both of them talk about somebodys death :(

Roses just uses death as a metaphor but this song is about Julius Trombino. He was a close personal friend and musical inspiration for Chrissy and he died of a drug overdose in September 2016.
