I wonder if u could see NYC out in the distance north on a clear day

I wouldn't have thought so, I'd have thought the earths curvature would hide it from view, even at this altitude. You'd see it from a good distance, just not right above Philly.

I’ve read a few accounts where people have said they have seen NY on a cleared day like this one. If you can see both cities from 400ft at six flags I’m most certain you can from the plane.

      Buty possible

It’s possible. I live in Atlantic City and on a clear day from borgata or the top of ocean resort casino you can make the outlines of Philadelphia and sometimes New York. Has to be extremely clear with no smog in either city or clouds.

I'd be skeptical. NYC isn't necessarily "close" to Philadelphia. You might be able to see it at the plane's full altitude at 40,000 feet above Philadelphia on a totally clear day, but even then it would probably look like a random gray slab way out in the distance. It would be small and you'd have to be really looking for it. If you test it on Google Earth you can see what I mean.

Just out of curiosity, any idea why several passengers were clapping upon clearing the active runway?? Landing didn't seem that rough. Did something happen during the flight that the vid doesn't show?? Just curious but enjoyed the vid, thx...Nate- Pittsburgh, PA

Nathan Huffman I'm not really sure, maybe they were just happy to be on the ground after a 10 hour flight! But no, nothing eventful happened, just a routine flight with a routine landing. Thanks for watching!

Nice landing!...Oh and by the way I think someone is using your video...This person using the name of "Fligs Family Fun" posted the sane exact thing and claims it was made in 2018.

If you look closely at the wing you can tell it's a different plane
