Johnny vs. Mega Man 9 & 10

- The Mega Man Marathon has come to an end, and the last two games take the Blue Bomber back to his 8-bit roots. It's also been 10 years since the original release of Mega Man & Bass, so has Mega Man lost that classic luster, or is he still packing some fun and entertainment?
"Mighty No. 9 might revitalize some interest in the Mega Man franchise...if it ends up doing well."
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh...
*Big Smoke intensifies*
Cam TriforceMan hahahahahahahahahahahahhhahahahahahahah ha ha ha ha
It's better than nothing.
Mighty No. Nail in the coffin for the Mega Man series.
Sanic Youth no its not
I gotta admit, I actually LIKE the Roboenza virus thing. I mean, something that makes robots go berserk and start attacking humans? Wily made a prototype of the freaking Maverick Virus from the X series! That is an AWESOME connection there!
We are experiencing something like that right now
@@samuelpounds1475 idk about you but covid didnt make people nor robots go berserk
@@RetroHero64 Yeah we don't really have T-virus making people zombies either.
@@RetroHero64 oh it made humans go berserk, just not in the violent way
Nobody likes the roboenza virus
I love how the box art for these 2 are intentionally bad
Soundtracked Gamer looks just old school for me
Puncho Villa the old school box arts were bad for Mega Man 1 & 2, so yeah it’s pretty much both.
@Soundtracked Gamer I'm sorry but those box art are the best in the series
they arent that bad
@@coldessa1210
The Rockman box arts are pretty good, but the NA Megaman box arts are ungodly. It's almost so bad it's good, but is undeniably bad, so much that even Capcom admits it.
Also, with the recaps of Wily's past defeats, I found it nifty how it showed you the final boss's weakness.
Only veteran Mega Man fans would know what each weapon is, though.
"This jump is tight as fuck"
My favourite quote of this series!
Can it just go fuck itself?
+MotionTransformer XD
I jumped that tight fuck..................
Oh my god. That black hole bomb is what kick starts Mega Man's Final smash in Super Smash Bros. 4. O,o
Yep.
Yeet
Johnny: And for the *final time* , Dr.Wily is defeated
*A wild Megaman 11 trailer appears*
Johnny: ...... fuck.
Maybe this time Wily won't be the villain!
It's a classic Mega man game, OF COURSE WILY IS THE VILLAIN, Didn't you learn anything from Mega man 4, 5 and 6?
Ryan in this review: Speaks in a calm, soft, and collective voice.
Ryan in Brainscratch: *IT'S STORM EAGLE!*
Pretty impressive the way you were able to sync up your review with this other guy who recorded his footage and audio over 25 years earlier
Important note: In MegaMan 10, the knockback on ProtoMan was reduced a bit so he was MUCH more tolerable to play there.
The PlayStation3 Store game?
I forgot about that. Another reason for MM10 being better than MM9.
@@Victory-in-YAHUSHA MM9 has way more polished and well designed levels though.
@@Dog-999i Meh, I liked the level design of 10 more
I love how Johnny is bringing back live action back into his reviews. I think it's safe to say a lot of people missed it.
This and any video mentioning mighty no 9 in positive sense is weird.
Well, this was made before we knew what to expect with that game and people, believe it or not, still thought the game would be a smash hit.
+TheSMBZfan1 Very true but it's got the Harsher in Hindsight kind of deal.
Yeah, it did, and it sucks too because that game is fun, but it still ends up being average due to the game not being finished even after launch.
Mr. Steelix First off, cool your jets, and second, he did offer that against Secret Rings, but we voted Secret Rings, but he'll get to it eventually. Johnny is Sonic fan through and through and he wouldn't just not do it, but it's not a priority for him right now, he still needs to finish Star Fox at this time.
15:54 "You know, if it ends up doing well", not exactly putting it on a pedestal.
I'm addicted to rewatching your reviews. They're funny, informative, and to the point
I love the meta humor in these games.
Dr. Wily’s what I call a “Saturday morning” villain. Losing’ as fun and he just runs off “same time next week?”
you know what's cool about MM10's wily capsule? the dopplaganger has a red triangle on his forehead. in MMZX and ZX advent that triangle means you're a reploid, as humans and reploids are more similiarin 25XX (including bio upgrades for humans and life spans for Reploids). it's a nice homage, so I noted it... sorry for misspells...
strubbery g that’s actually really cool
I gotta say thanks for making the vids on Megaman. I loved the games growing up and watching this reminded me of good times, and thanks to all 10 games being re-released on the PS4 in a combo pack plus 40% off I have no problem getting them again. Just wish I could have added Mighty No.9 to this without feeling sick.
i get that megaman 2 was the source of development, they removed the slide from megaman 3,but the kept rush, who is also form megaman 3.WTF
Did not know that Jason from Far Cry 3 played megaman. Hun.
Megaman Unlimited, a fantastic fan game for those who were disappointed with Mighty No 9
I second Megaman Unlimited! It's honestly the best Megaman game I've ever played! Everything in it is simply extraordinary!
The levels are completely drawn out and the level design ranges from alright to spike-infested mindless design, not to mention the ridiculous bridging ending that doesn't have much to do with Unlimited's plot besides linking it to the virus and the X series. Not a satisfactory ending at all nor was the experience satisfying. It's fair to admit that it has at least a nice level of polish, the visuals are pretty solid, but at the same time polish doesn't cover an awkwardly-designed game. I appreciate the effort from the creator, no doubt about that, but even he's admitted there's a lot of issues with the game. At the very end I do still think it's better than Mighty No 9, but that's really only because Mighty No 9 was filled with horrible execution and pulling at the nostalgia heartstrings.
I have to disagree. I second the notion of Unlimited being the best Megaman game I've ever played. Sure, the game is extremely difficult, but I wold never go so far as to say the level design is mindless. The main reason I thoroughly enjoyed the game is because there was clearly thought put into everything. There were constantly moments throughout the game where I found myself taking note of what the designers intended and anticipated.
As far as the plot goes-
Since when does plot dictate the quality of a classic MegaMan game??? This very marathon is a testament to how trite the plot was in every classic game.
Something bad happens. Is Dr Wily behind it? No, he couldn't be. OH NO, HE WAS BEHIND IT ALL ALONG.
The fact that MegaMan unlimited takes the story any step beyond that is commendable in my opinion, but I don't think plot is very important in a series like classic Megaman to begin with.
I have it, like it, but omg IT IS HARD!
it is Megaman & Bass with good presentation
4:46 Johny was right. The Metroid: Zero Mission music works great.
megaman powered up would be good on 3ds
***** yep XD
pikabrozs totally
megaman powerd up 2? 3ds?
Luke Warner hell yea
Yeah but I just hope if they do decide to do that they'd get rid of the oversized heads.
Johnny: Folks, if there's ever a point where you think Dr. Wily isn't the villain in a classic Mega Man game, you're wrong.
MatPat: Hold my beer.
Imagine actually holding the beer.
Actually, I'd like to give Johnny and classic Megaman Fans a recommendation. Which is, Megaman Unlimited. Well true, it's a fan project. Yeah true, it only works on Windows Operating Systems. Still, I recommend the game because I think the handful of people who created it did an extraordinary job.
They also tried to fill the story gap between Classic Megaman and Megaman X (which isn't bullshit like most other projects). The classic Megaman gameplay feel is still there, the soundtrack is awesome and the game proves to be challenging. Wanna ring the nostalgic bell? Then off to Megaman Unlimited you go!
I wonder if Johnny will review the X series.....
Just imagine his reaction when he gets to X5 and face the Shadow Devil XD
joão carlos Ohhhhs maaannnn XDD
Also, Bkaze Heatnix's stage in X6 XDD
I would pay to see these
Autobot Wheeljack Or Flame Hyenard in X7 :D

joão carlos Johnny: FUCKing SHADOW DEVIL!!!
love the reversion to classic megaman with 8 bit graphics. sega should make a true 16 bit style sonic the hedgehog game.
And so they made sonic mania.
and what a game it was.
Your wish has been granted
**Sonic Mania comes out**
There ya go.
There you go
would love to see megaman 9 and 10 on the 3DS eshop!
*****
Also on Steam.
I want to see an nes cart.
I think that all the classic Megaman games should be on the Wii U e-shop. And I agree with the thought about Megaman 9 and 10 on the 3DS e-shop.
*****
How? They're just 8bit side scrollers.
corvusala they ........ are...........more .......... than.........just a sidescroller!! Die Corvusala!
The next game should be wilys creation turns against him and wily actually isn't faking it
plot twist, Wily was faking to not fake it, but then turns out to be faking faking not faking it
Isn't that technically what happened though? Zero is literally doing everything Wily didn't want him to.
yes but that is backstory to the x series rather then the plot to a classic game
dshaynie X is the continuation of the classic series.
you miss the point
Ryan: Going through a bit of E-tank withdrawal there?
John: Wanna play Megaman & Bass and find out?!
XDDD you fucken tell him John
U hhuuuuu
Zyad48 ummm no, no I was just... curious, I was going to put that comment in😂
I watched this classic Megaman marathon after marathoning the games myself, and it's wild seeing Johnny's early-ish days again. These were the days of sudden guest stars with no introduction and call-backs to earlier, unrelated videos...he's changed for the better I feel
3:25
me when i first saw Quake Woman/Tempo
Whooo! Megaman comics REPRESENT!!!
i dont get it..?
A 1995 no female robot masters in Mega Man 11 :(
I love that they went back to 8bit. Megaman 11 looks badass too with the graphical update. It all looks good man
Ryan sounds like Microsoft Sam, lol...
MM9 wasn't part of the whole retro wave, but it pretty much started.
it
+Hans Carabonala (EinName)
And it did it perfectly which is continued with the sequel.Multiple characters, solid level design, all around usefull weapons and overall games that are joy to speed run. They might be 8-bit but honestly they added more stuff to the megaman formula then new mario and sonic 4 ever did to their respective franchises.
+Oguzhan Gungor Agreed, but 3D Mario games get some innovation.
Hans Carabonala
Well I meant 2d ones consederıng those are the "we are going for the nostalgia trip"
No. MM9 is part of the retro wave
ngl, I miss these bits where it felt like there might have been a storyline going on.
But i'm happy that the Stuff Tails Doll is now rooming with Johnny so maybe we might get some new stuff with him in the future
I wasn't very familiar with Mega Man aside from ocasionaly watching the NT Warrior show back in the day.
Then the Sonic Crossover happened, and that was arround the time I discovered Johnny and saw that the classic Mega Man reviews were his most recent at the time.
I marathon the whole thing in a day and got curious to try out a few months later Mega Man 9 on my Wii and a year later Mega Man 10 (along side 4 and 5).
All I have to say is: thanks Johnny, for leding me to discover, what is now, one of my favourite series ever, as well some of my favourite games of all time, such as Mega Man 9 and 10.
I've beaten Megaman 1-7, and I thought 9 was unbelievable frustrating. It's definately harder than one (excluding the almost impossible yellow devil) in my opinion. While the weapons actually are useful the stages are so annoying.. Tornadoman for instance! And that no-gravity part in the Wily stage. When I finally beat Megaman 9 I was much more relieved than happy. I've also sworn not to play it again!
Thanks, I won't. I'm not too interested in the fan games and hacks etc.
Johan Öberg You've obviously never played Megaman & Bass.
I have, but I haven't tried beating it without cheats before. I imagine the flying boss where you have to keep jumping on platforms is quite hard without cheats (I used infinite treble power with Bass, lol)
Mega Man 10 is my favorite Mega Man game, great stages, great dlc, great soundtrack!
9 is my favorite. But 10 is ok.
C'mon Johnny..review the Mega Man X series. You should bring Clement back to torture him with X7!
I think you mean X6.
Ulla No, he means X7
Plucifer The Invincible Nope he hates X6 more.
GenTen 64 But X7 is wooooorrsse!!
Plucifer The Invincible But in Clement's opinion, X6 is the worst in the X series. So, it would probably be more rage inducing for Clement.
I love both of these games, especially Mega Man 10. If MM11 never existed, it would definitely be my favorite game of the classic series.
Aww Dammit! Just when I was about to mention about Mega Man Dies At The End, Johnny has to deal with two ghost and goblin games!
I'm surprised Johnny didn't bring up how you had to fight both the yellow and green devil at the same time in the semi-final stage.
Who’s watching this after getting hyped from the Mega Man 11 trailer?
I still really like megaman 10
Dash 10’s my personal favorite Mega Man game
10 is ok, but it's not the best honestly.
You uploaded this on my birthday!
Happy birthday! Well, kinda close anyway 👀
13:55 "So here's this giant enemy crab!"
I mean, I love the original mega man games but I prefer the 16 bit styles of say mega man x and 7 & 8. I'm fine with the 8bit style but I think the 16 bit style is a better approach.
Mega Man 8 is 32 bit, but I agree too.
***** yeah my bad, for some reason i forgot it was on the PS1
+MermDaddy The sprites are too big for my tastes in the 16 bit games
Can't wait for you to review MegaMan 11 later next year
MegaMan 10 was the first game in the series I played, I had read about it in Nintendo Power (amazing huh? :P) and thought the idea of a retro-themed game was cool. Downloaded it, loved it, and started playing the rest! :P
When I first saw the ending of Megaman 10 when I was younger, I thought Wily turned into the Roboenza cures
after some research in the Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 the DLC characters are unlockable via beating their respective games or by entering 1 cheat code on both games' menus
Next thing you know we’re gonna have roborona
BOY OH BOY MEGA MAN 11 HERE WE COME
I knew you would use that Metroid zero mission reference theme.
I couldn't even beat megaman 9 =/ but i did beat 10
***** Did you play on Easy mode? ADMIT IT!
Easy mode? I BEAT 1-10. 2 and 10 were on difficult. I also beat Mega Man and Bass on the GBA! AS MEGA MAN,
9 was shit and full of unfair cheap bullshit and 10 was a very well rounded fun experience overall
9 isn't unfair & cheap on difficulty. It's fairly challenging. It's hard, but it's nowhere near as cheap or repetitive as Mega Man 1 & especially Mega Man & Bass. 9 is a great game. I like 10 just fine, but it's a little disappointing. I know that u can also play Proto Man in 10, but he's just the down version of Mega Man honestly. I like 9 better.
@@MizfitZer0 10 is way more unfair than 9 tho
9 has its cheap moments but the rewards after the hard sections makes for it
10 is just hard asf bro
1:49-1:51 The elephants always get me in the mega 9 demo. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that struggles with those things.
A lot of people like megaman 2 the most, but while it is a great game, I like MegaMan 9 more tbh.
I also agree that MM9 is better than MM2. In my opinion, MM9 is the best classic MM game in the series.
Well, considering MM9 took inspiration from 2 in many aspects, I doubt anyone could call that something worth hating.
Megaman 3
original FTW!!!
For me, megaman 4 is my favorite.
So, we've fought Wily 11 times + the the 5 gameboy games and the wonderswan(weird name, I know) sequel to Rockman and Forte AND there was battle and chase PLUS Dacta Wahwee was the villain in battle network 1,3, und 6 WITH THE BONUS OF Power fighters 1&2 so we've fought him 23 times. Goddamn. Did I miss any?
I don't count powered up.
SAW The Spartan Where?
SAW The Spartan So, 26?
SAW The Spartan Not unless... *Looks at Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan. * It must be done.
PikaLink91 I don't even know what he wants to do anymore.
I'm guessing the next review is going to be a Halloween special
the thing at the end genuinely scared me! i was like "ok nothing scary,... (lift towel and sound happens) HOLY CRAP!! oh, wait, never mind" i am a bit of a scardey cat (insert any metroid game) "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!... hide me! =("
I played the crap out of the battle network games, I always got to the end bosses then could never beat them because they are absurdly hard. The super cheesy story lines always captured my love and the addicting battle system. Its still to this day the only game that has a card battle system that I don't hate extensively
I miss Battle Network too D:
I played the hell outta those games. I miss 'em so bad.
codediax Starforce is WAAAYYYYYYYYY better.
codediax Starforce is WAAAYYYYYYYYY better.
I loved that reaction. "Holy shit, a female..."
This game is fantastic, one of the best platformers ever made. Capcom Nailed Megaman 4, 7, and 9. Oh I'm sorry I just offended the 5%.
This guy knows his stuff.
@@nintendodude7143 because he has an opinion? Because Mega Man 4, 7, and 9 have pretty big flaws.
@thomasffrench3639 Yeah they do have their issues. Especially 7 imo and 4 definitely has its rough patches but they're the most consistently solid classic Mega Man games, and maybe out of the whole franchise. Mega Man 2 and 3 are usually declared the best and they do have some great ideas and moments but their flaws make them hard to enjoy at times. Who wants a heavily unbalanced weapon roster? Repeated stages that; while i personally love the idea of are pretty much just forced rehashes? Frame perfect bosses like Quick Man or the Yellow Devil's genuinely unfair invisible hitboxes? Or a rushed endgame with short bland stages? Point this those games get it right more than they don't, and their flaws atleast to me don't necessarily ruin the experience. Mega Man 7's weapons can be quite unbalanced but imo they interact with the world in very fun ways, adding depth through secrets. It's kinda like the whole is more than the sum of its parts, some flaws can destroy a game and drag it through the dirt. While others might just cause a little slog in the enjoyment for a moment. Don't get me wrong, Mega Man 2 and 3 are good games made with love, but they just don't show what Mega Man could be at his greatest. MM11 would be right up there with 9 if it weren't for the short endgame and Bounce Man. Sorry for the comment essay lol. Still I'm passionate about these games.
@@randomguyontheinternet7940 I totally get why people love Mega Man 4, it is my second favorite after 2. The main issue I have with Mega Man 4 is it's length, because it feels way too long, even if the Castle stages are excellent. I just get so tired of them after a while no matter how good it is. I actually don't have this problem in Mega Man 3, even with the doc robot stages, because at least you can save after the doc robots, but Mega Man 4 has way stronger post 8 stages, while I believe that Mega Man 3 has the best robot master levels in the entire series.
And I'm not really a fan of Mega Man 9's level design despite having amazing weapons as It just feels both boring and cheap at the same time. It seems like my opinion of Mega Man 9 matches your opinion of Mega Man 2. I think the main problem with Mega Man 2 is that all of the creative levels were just reused in other games like Quick Man and Bubble Man stage, so despite how great they are, they have been done to death, which makes going back to Mega Man 2 feel more bland than it actually is. Don't worry about the essay btw. We just seem to value different things in Mega Man games, because I think for you "average length" is too long for me.
@thomasffrench3639 The length doesn't really matter much it just has to be beefy, and refreshing. I could breeze through the Cossafk fortress faster than the Doc stages, which are longer put together. But Cossacks castle is just so fresh and uses some doc ideas so much better, those bosses are fun as hell. Some of MM9s stages definitely have that cheap shit, Concrete Man, Tornado Man, Splash Woman, and Wily 3 all could have been amazing stages if they took advantage of their tools more. But sometimes that difficulty makes Hornet Man, Magma Man, and Wily 1 such amazing levels in my eyes. And for the Wily stage maybe recycling those stage gimmicks would have made it better. For MM11 I feel like the castle just fell off after the 2nd stage, those first 2 stages are amazing but the whole thing just doesn't keep up, and I personally expect a little more from a modern game without screen limitations to atleast have one full beefy caslte.
I just realized this was uploaded on my birthday. Good thing it has Bass in it because I fuCKING LOVE HIM SO MUCH-
4:46 THAT IS *_EXACTLY_* HOW I FEEL ABOUT THAT, MAN!!!!!!😂😆🤣
Mega Man 9- New Pinnacle of the series alongside 2 and 3.
Mega Man 10- Just another Mega Man game.
These two games really epitomize the Mega Man series. Where it was the best on the block, and when it was just floating around in sequelitis.
17:42 JESUS! Massive Jump scare there!
Having grown up on mostly Mega Man I, II, III, IV, V, X and some of the Gameboy games I had no idea so many people were against the turb oshot or gliding ability. I love those. Thought it was a very logical step in Mega Man III and then IV. A very odd detail to have "against" some of the games in my mind!
LOL I actually got SUPER scared that moment John ripped away the owl towel, haha

LOL Metroid Zero Mission reference: 4:43
+drone306 I knew too cause I have seen the review

I'm just glad it didn't get canned like the other Megaman games.
2:59 That good sir, is a very great question! I couldn't help but agree.
Who is hyped for Mega man 11
I has butter i cant wait til they annouce the realease date
Who isn’t hyped for megaman 11?
Me 😎
11 months later...the game is awesome ;)
Ah, The Memories~~!!😊
Mega Man 9 is a game that I both love and am disappointed by at the same time. While 9 has fantastic level design (most of the time), amazing music, awesome weapons, a great Robot Master roster, and an interesting idea for a plot, it's basically a much better Mega Man 2. Now, don't get me wrong, I like Mega Man 2, but at the same time, I also hate the fact that everyone worships 2 like it's god when several Mega Man games are better than it. I say this because 9 got rid of *both* the slide and charge shot. Now, I can somewhat understand this design choice, since it had been so long since the last Classic game, so I can understand wanting to go back to the roots of the first two games, but even so, I still feel those were removed because of the MM2 fans complaining about the new additions later games added which made the series better. I know Proto Man has the slide and charge shot, but it wouldn't hurt to have had Mega Man unlock those options like in Powered Up, right? 9 is still a fantastic game, but I feel some of its potential was held back by Mega Man 2.
Mega Man 10 on the other hand... if I made a list of the most disappointing games I've played, 10 would be high on that list. Now, 10 is not a bad game, but my god, it could have been so much more. I remember back before 10 was announced, a content maker by the name of cjszero01 made a video explaining what he wanted in Mega Man 10, and some of these options included a stage maker, and combining Robot Master weapons. That would have been amazing, and pushed the series into even bigger lights. But the Mega Man 2 design philosophy destroyed all potential this game could have had. I do like 10's soundtrack, some of the stages are pretty fun, the story has an interesting idea that didn't get explored very well, I like the DLC stages and Bass being playable, and I do play it whenever I need some Mega Man practice for Smash 4, but a lot of the game was a let down. The weapons system has got to be the worst weapon system in the whole series, and this is coming from someone who hates Mega Man 2's weapon system. The only weapons in this game I found useful were the Triple Blade and the Water Shield. Every other weapon just didn't cut it. I like that the Wheel Cutter has an added function of going up ceilings, but it feels so pointless that it's not worth mentioning. Some of the stages like Commando Man's stage aren't very fun to play through, and the ending of the game was rushed to hell. For the 10th game in the series, more should have been put into this game, but like Mega Man 9, I feel like the exclusion of elements later games introduced was done to only please the Mega Man 2 fans, fans I am disgusted by. These people want nothing more than their precious Mega Man 2, and every other game that has the nerve to introduce worthwhile additions and introduce better stage gimmicks is not good enough to them because it's too "complicated" for them to handle. They don't want the series to evolve; they want it to stay in one spot and not change, not try anything new, and that is disgusting. This is why I'm hostile towards Mega Man 2; its fans are obnoxious and the design philosophy of it held back 9 and especially 10.
Overall, Mega Man 10 is just okay in my eyes, and even though it's the most disappointing game in the Classic series, I still find 2 to be the worse game. While 2 does have a better soundtrack and slightly better weapon system than 10, the design philosophy of getting rid of what the series built up and holding 10 back severely, MM2 comes off as worse in my eyes, to where I have a love/hate relationship with 2 as a result. I know that's harsh, but it's just how I feel.
It's a shame that 10 was the last game in the Classic series, especially how much it could have had. At least we're getting Mighty Number 9, and Capcom as of late have been wanting to do more with the Blue Bomber, especially with the Archie comics and the 2017 TV show in production, not to mention being in the new Smash Bros game, given a bunch of remixes and having a faithful representation in the game itself. Still, I wish that Mega Man could come back to the gaming world in some way, but don't have the game's design by held back by Mega Man 2. Give Mega Man the Rayman Origins/Legends treatment, and maybe Mega Man could be seen as more than that one franchise that has been getting cancelled games left and right. A boy can dream, can't he? ;)
***** I've always wanted to review stuff, but I don't have the time (high school student), money (I don't have a job), or equipment to do so. I could just use Audacity and iMovie like I did a couple of times, but I want to put a little more effort into videos if I ever make them. Thanks for the compliment! :)
Hub Hikari I'd suggest trying your hand at one actually. The way you explained everything in your comment really fits well with someone who could be a reviewer. It honestly looks a bit in construct to one of the scripts I'm doing for a video of mine I have planned lol
Hub Hikari I agree about MM2. Its not the best one I think MM3 was better.
+Hub Pie
Well its not like 10 does anything wrong.Honestly everthing you said are pretty much opinion.10 was great for me.The level design, the music, the characters, bosses, weapons (I say chill spike, commando bomb, triple blade, water shield, wheel cutter, solar and the rubber ball are all very usefull weapons. They all have their place in each stage.Especially for speed runs). It has A LOT OF extra content.I am not saying this to insult you or anything dont get me wrong. But I think people are doing 10 injustice. When 10 was announced people were like "oh look MORE megaman" even though its been 2 years since megaman 9.
+Oguzhan Gungor The "rubber ball" is called the Rebound Striker. Just sayin'.
Don't get me wrong, I still like 10, but it just feels like a let down because of what it could have been. For what it is, 10's a solid game.
Good new; Megaman 11 was announced not to long ago. Once the game's released, you planning on reviewing that game?
forgot if i commented on this video or not, so I'll comment again anyway- Megaman 10 is the response to gamers stating "megaman 9 was too hard". It was on the heels of the success that was megaman 9, but a half-hearted attempt. Seems like three boss were leftovers from 9- strike, sheep, and nitro; the boss gauntlet is actually the same order as the stage selection screen (to further tone down ANY hint of difficulty) and the ghost pirate ship moves back in forth (menacingly).
I almost stopped playing, it was sorta depressing to think what this game could have been.
+platomaker
I love that "menacingly" part lol :D:D:D
I almost stopped playing at that part. Like the developers gave up.
It took us forever to get MegaMan 9 after. After MegaMan 8 was released on the PlayStation & Mega Man & bass was released on the GBA capcom was obsessed with the Battle Network & Starforce games & the RPG category of MegaMan.
Neat thing that no one notices, but I love how the cutscene with Wily changes based on what the last robot master defeated was. It shows a really high sense of polish.
His reaction to the slide and the charge shot just screams nostalgia
I don't know why but I can't seem to beat Megaman 9. I've beaten every game in the classic series (except 10 because I haven't tried it) and it still gives me trouble. It seems like I had an easier time playing Megaman 1. I get to the final boss and I die every time. And I hate that when you get a game over it makes you go through the stage AND the boss rush all over again. Once you get to the Wily, you're pretty much handicapped from the boss rush. Any tips?
maybe try not to blow all your special weapon energy while doing so? pr maybe try to master dodging? I've only played megaman x, zero and ZX and dodging seemed to help a lot
It's the only Megaman I never beat too. Final boss.
Never mind fellas I got it
Same here.
I played through MM1-6 in six days. A new one each day.
Once I got to 7, which was crap, the pace broke down and I never found it back.
MM9 is also hard even for an MM game, I disagree when he says that MM1 is harder, it's the same level of hard, just for different reasons.
Endlesswhiner i played megaman 9 and megaman and bass, those are the only two classic megaman games i've played, and holy shit megaman & bass is hard, megaman 9 didnt give me much trouble , it's hard but not on the level of megaman & bass, I finished megaman & bass but not MM9 cuz I havent really invested the time to actually play it that much, I've played through some of it but not like M&B, maybe I'll give it another try soon
You NEED to play Megaman X Command Mission. It's one of those weird game formulas (turn-based combat in a Megaman game) that just worked so well, and it's awesome and underrated.
Oh my god I fucking love that game
What system was that for? (im too lazy to google it)
PS2 is what I have it on
Oh, that ending...I can't wait, though I fear for your sanity, Johnny.
Oh god your analogy for the level difficulty had me on the floor. Excellent video johnny! Keep it up!
Could you do a mini-marathon of the Jak and Daxter games?
He's Not Done With The Mega Man Games He Hasn't Played MM11
man its really been 3 years since mighty`s anouncement...whata disapointment
It may or may not come out at the end of this month...
+wolfan20 Maybe Capcom will release another Megaman game before Mighty No 9 XD
It's been 4 years since Mighty No. 9 came out, crashed and burned catastrophically, sunk Keiji Inafune's reputation, and destroyed Comcept as an independent company. The 3DS and Vita versions are still nowhere to be seen, Mega Man has been revived with Mega Man 11 and hints toward some of the other sub-series being revived alongside the Classic series, and the only thing that Inafune has put out since then where he actually led the development was a mobile gacha game that closed down after a year. Needless to say, videos of this era praising the Mighty No. 9 kickstarter have aged like milk.
@@LordArikado The only game that he has released and has been liked is gunvolt.
YOU SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME AT THE END!MY VOLUME WAS TURNED UP!
I cannot wait to see Your take on Mega man 11 when it comes out in the fall.
No slide because it's based on Mega Man 2, but then they put in Rush, who also wasn't in Mega Man 2...
StuffedVulture because the game is called megaman 9 not megaman 2.5 which is why Rush is in the game
Greatcoolman2 in that case explain the lack of slide
The voices in this video kind of depress me. The review part is okay, though.
Steel Yourself: Megaman 11 is coming
3:30-3:34
Because the last time they had a female enemy, it led to controversy that somewhat still goes on today. The name Poison should ring a bell.
"Then there was just a giant enemy crab"
Mega Man 9's level design is superior to MM2's. This game is right up there with MM3 and X1. It is legendary.
I agree.
Why do people love mega man 2 so much? It has bad item balancing and can sometimes feel like a slog due to no slide.
My money is on nostalgia
Level design, I only just experienced mm2 when buying legacy collection and loved it so no nostalgia, also does that mean you hate mm1 9 and 10?
I like it mostly for nostalgia. It was the first Mega Man I was exposed to. 3 is my favorite.
Complaining that a game doesnt have a feature added in a later entry is nonsensical.
@@Ponaru doesnt change the fact that it's still not the funnest mega man game
will you do mega man X too?
This was uploaded in OCTOBER 2013? Wow, time flies.
9 is not only my favourite Mega Man game but in my top ten favourite games of all time.
And now we have to deal with Rovid-19
I know that I'm going to get a lot of hate 4 saying this but.... Mega Man 10 is my favourite Mega Man game
That's fine. I like 9 more honestly & I hope you don't get mad for that.
Why would you be scared of hate? Oh wait, its the internet.
