Seeing Tim and Jenn in the parks together again is a big “nature is healing” moment for me. Loved getting to “hang out” with you two! 💖
It’s so fun seeing you both back at Universal! It’s been awhile!
About the lumpia, it’s usually savory, but we do have turon which is sweet, usually with bananas in them! It’s cool that they served the lumpia with vinegar, that’s like the legit way of eating it, but honestly as a Filipino American we use sweet chili sauce more often.
I love when Tim gives Jenn a gentle shoulder rub to break the news the frozen Coke is in the other park. ❤ I too love frozen Coke!
Yay you tried Filipino dishes! That style lumpia is called “Shanghai lumpia”. I like dipping mine with a soy, vinegar, garlic mix. The sweet lumpia you’ve tried is not traditional. Also, it’s pronounced “pan- SIT”. So happy you guys tried it! Too bad they weren’t serving Pancit Canton, it’s my favorite between the 2 styles.

I love those little stoops they have to sit in throughout that area, it feels even more immersive and just more convenient. One of my favorite parts of the Universal Studios side of the park. 💕

as someone who is seriously allergic to shellfish I love that they mark what items have shellfish in them! Also the fact that they separated the booths where you pick up your food from shellfish and non shellfish is awesome! Less likely to have contaminated food that way :D

Mamiya Camera on the table. For info and perhaps interest Mamiya were legendary in the film era particularly for their medium format film cameras. Was lucky enough to use their classic RB67 for Forensic work in the 1990s for 11 years. A different world to modern digital cameras.

If you want Colombia food, the local Colombian bakeries and restaurants are great in Orlando. A big arepa is 🫓 roughly $3 and junior colombian burger slaps 👏
Those tresses are for corporate events this time of year. When it’s the ‘Slow Season’ aka between January and March they do a lot of corporate buy-outs at nighttime. The same reason the parks will sometimes close as early as 6 pm.

My son and I went to Universal last Saturday to celebrate his 20th birthday. We did the ride and dine so we ate at Cowfish (which we had never had before) and we got to ride on the float to throw beads to everyone watching the parade. It was so much fun! Barenaked Ladies were there the night we were there. I definitely want to go back and try some of the food. Oooo I love pastalon....I don't like fish but I do like bacalaitos. Great day spent at Universal! Jenn congratulations on your AP haha....I just got mine too. 😊Huge hugs and love to you guys ❤

I have never had sweet lumpia. It has always been savory.
Turon is like dessert lumpia (same fried wrapper) but it has plantains, brown sugar and sweet jackfruit. It’s soooo gooood!

I think the adult theming of Fast and Furious would go over his head. He might ask like why there’s a party or whatever. Lol. But I don’t think there’s anything that would be too much for him.
I think he’d enjoy the ride being a car chase and all that!! Just make sure to let him wear his earmuff things cause it’s kind of loud!
.5 Tip! Your watch can double as a viewfinder for your phone camera. When you have both the camera open on your phone and on your apple watch (should be an app on ur watch) , you can see what the back camera see's on your wrist :)

Pastelon is what I’d call Puerto Rican lasagna. When done right I love it. Should have a sweet/salty flavor. Probably need to go try it at a better location like the lechoneria or other Puerto Rican restaurant around Orlando.
You did a great job pronouncing the Filipino items, Jenn! And yes! Lumpia is generally savory. The avatar booth with the sweet lumpia at Animal Kingdom calls it “lumpia”, but really it’s more like what we call “turon” - which is a sweet fried egg roll with sweet plantains, brown sugar, and sometimes jackfruit. Love that you guys try Filipino food! 🇵🇭

Yep, it's always said Amity Island on that building. I was a Jaws Skipper back in 2003 - 2005. It's definitely just recently been repainted though.

My oldest 2 are 10 & 6 and they have rode Fast and Furious and loved in especially my 6 year old my youngest was still a bit too short but even with his disability he loves cars and I think he’ll love it next time we are down next year

Jackson and Oliver are great and we have all seen them from when you first announced you were pregnant until now and hopefully some day they have their own tracker vlogs... but I am sure it is awesome to get away as a couple and go back to your roots going to the parks. Its nostalgic and fun to see you guys just the two of you together. You dont stop being parents but sometimes mom and dad need to go do something fun without the kids lol.

The Filipino booth just makes me think of my coworkers who bring Pancit and Lumpia to every potluck we have and it is delicious ❤❤
Pancit = Pun Sit. That's the pronunciation. chopped Beef, chicken, pork, carrots, celery and rice noodles. Lumpia = Loom pia. It was savory before Disney made it sweet. It's a Filipino Egg Roll essentially, but no egg. Also, the sauce is usually Soy Sauce and Rice Wine Vinegar with some garlic, but add Rooster Sauce to kick it up. No Siracha, that's just ketchup.

Biscoff cookies (and cookie cream) are speculoos Cookies. In Belgium and the Netherlands you eat them year round. In Germany it’s more a Christmas thing because of the spices.

For maps - I always go with several kids. I usually print them at home, then laminate them. Makes them durable for kids. And they love physical maps. Teaches a great skill, too.

I used cooked (boiled) cabbage leaves in place of the noodles for cabbage lasagna. It was delicious. Low carb.
