I just saw a repeat of one of the Halloween shows before he died, I get sad every time I remember that he is no longer here. He was so much fun and such a great guy
I did, too. Especially the spicy episodes he was on. Those episodes were the best. I also the episode of Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives that he was in. R.I.P Carl Ruiz
Carl Ruiz was a celebrity chef known for his love of good food and his anti-vegan/vegetarian humor, which he regularly took the piss in his tweets or on his t-shirts. With his philosophy of the absolute eating of meat he indirectly brought many people to death.
Omg😢All this time I did not know this, I’m only finding out because I’m watching GGG right now and the episode is dedicated to him. This is making me cry. He was funny and seemed like a nice guy. RIP❤️❤️❤️
Feel like I met him and I never have ...what an amazing soul gone too soon ...God probably needed him elsewhere his legacy will live on forever ...we need more people like him in the world ...especially now. Love and prayers to his family.
I'm American of italian/mexican blood. Went to my check up at the V.A. doc told me youre right at, "cut them tacos and pastas OUT!!" told me to watch some movie called Forks over Knives. 46 yrs old diet is mainly sardines and avocados. (Damn you Saturday morning cereals when I was a kid)
I was shocked when I seen he died. I was so sad 😭 because I would watch Guy’s Grocery Game just to see him. He was so Funny & came across the 📺 screen as kind hearted ♥️. The April fool game in remembrance of Carl Ruiz was tearful 😢 but a blessing at the same time. Thanks to Guy for doing that. God bless everybody that reads this and all the staff & judges on Guy’s grocery game 🙏🏽💙🦋
My husband and I are 50-year vegetarians, and I LOVED Carl Ruiz! I was always so happy when I tuned in to GGG and Carl was either judging or cooking. He never failed to make me laugh, even when he complained about vegetarians! He seemed to me to be a lovely human being, who would be a dear friend even to us! After all, we aren't all alike, are we!? He left too soon and the world and certainly GGG will be the lesser for it. RIP Carl, from a vegetarian fan!
Looked like a sweetheart of a guy and such a talent. He was the genuine article. Too few left on this planet. Sad. He was way too young to go. Rest In Peace Chef Ruiz🥇
A brilliant chef, a sweet, funny guy, who lived and loved his native food. I have sorely missed his beautiful personality since his death. Knowing the cause of death does not surprise me. He loved his food a little too much and perhaps he should have dieted and exercised more. But he enjoyed his life and laughed more. He may have died young, but he lived well and laughed enough for 5 people. He had a full, lovely life. Blessed be dear Carl.
He lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed everything. That's the way to live. I can't imagine living to be a 90 pound 120 year old. Everyone and everything you know will be dead. RIP Chef.🙏⚘
@10:32 they finally say what he died of. Look make videos but the bait and switch stuff is annoying. I didn’t click this to find out about his life or what he did just why he died.
Bit of a ghoul are you? This was a soul that loved and was loved. If you TRULY Wanted To Know What He Died From You Could Have GOOGLED It Ya Dum TwatWaffle!!
Pat Long shut up snowflake. People are curious and they made a video that was more about run time. So go suck it. Oh and if I’m a ghoul then what are you doing watching this video you hypocrite.
I absolutely loved Carl!!!! I miss seeing him on the food network!!!!! I watch the re-runs on guy grocery games and just cry!!!! He seemed to be a beautiful person!! I will miss him greatly. 😢😢😢😢😢😢
I heard of his passing. Watched him on GGG, watched him cook at Guys Ranch. He seemed like a lot of fun, yes even vegans loved him. I judge noone. I love vegetables but I also eat meat. I was raised eating a little of everything. I applauded his Honesty. Life is eating what you love in moderation. Loved watching him cook. I did shed some tears when I heard he passed. So young. Rip. Cheft. You are missed. Condolences to his family. Love, respect and positivity Always. Vee and Family.
I love my spicy and hot food just loved his reaction on GGG when he had to eat those food. He was a cook that had the true passion of what it means to be a chef. Going to miss his reaction 😢 RIP
Everyone is a hero after they die but this man, without question, was genuinely loved and thought of so affectionately by everyone who knew him. He must have been extraordinary on every level. Heart felt condolences for his family.
Not sure y anyone would thumbs down this, Carl was AMAZING!!! NOOO I didn't know him personally nor net him but felt I did! He was soo fun and funny, his personality was infectious! RIP Carl! I'll surely miss u! No more fast food for me! Xoxo
I was so heartbroken to hear that Carl the Cuban died. 😔I knew him from Guy's Grocery Games , he was always hilarious on that show and I don't think it will be the same without him. I noticed that he had lost quite a bit of weight in recent months, if you compare to older videos ; he was much bigger. He must have been getting a grip on his health but unfortunately it was too late. I hope Chef Eric Greenspan learns from Carl's early passing and gets his weight under control before it's too late for him as well. Rip Carl -I will truly miss you ❤️ 😥
When Carl was a boy, he, his brother George and I were always playing in the neighborhood. We would hang out with some of our other friends on the street, Doris, Manuela and Pam. Us guys decided at some point to try to record a rap song, me being the aspiring DJ (and later a professional one). I still have all those tapes including the outtakes. Boy we had fun back then. I never knew he would become a celebrity chef or that his brother would become a well-respected cardiologist. I really miss that time in my youth. And there are so many stories I could tell about back then!
Loved his humor, loved him. He got me through some dark days, will never forget his tweet chasing an ice cream truck in late night NewYork. Miss the twitter brackets voting cereal, candy bars, fast food, beer, you name it, we voted on it.. Thank you for the laughs Chef. Thank God you got to see the tie dyed tshirts I made you, sad you passed away before I delivered them to you. Missing you so very much. 💙🍕🌭
So in short, Carl Ruiz was a great human being who died too early from a chronic cardiac related disease. Who by his existence and death, teaches something to everyone. Return if possible, rest in peace until then.
I learned my love of cooking from my mother, I used to tell her it was girls work but she emphasised that one that one day I would be looking after myself.
Carl was awesome. Personally picked me up at the train station to eat at his restaurant. I have his “Cuban knife #2” I’ll keep it forever. RIP Chef.
Awe!! What a beautiful gift to have that. Very nice. I’m sure you’ll always appreciate having it.
What an amazing made up story
Loved watching him on Guys Grocery Games as a judge. Specially if it was spicy. RIP.

I cried the day I heard he died! Its very hard to watch GGG when he was alive. What a great soul with a pure heart!! Great man. Huge tragedy. 😥
Nothing in life is promised. Live it to your fullest. RIP.
But death at 44? No thanks.
RIP Carl Ruiz.

Deen is right! The restaurant business is aggressive, competitive and stressful. A real high energy tough job and it can run a chef down!
Looked like a sweetheart of a guy and such a talent. He was the genuine article. Too few left on this planet. Sad. He was way too young to go.
Rest In Peace Chef Ruiz🥇
Never heard of him, but he sounds like must have been a really nice and likeable guy.

This dude was awesome. The man the myth the legend. I loved watching him on triple G and other things. He was funny, cool and just rocked it.
I truly loved watching him on everything and anything. But the best thing to say about Carl Ruiz is that he was genuine.
I’m not a fan of Opie at all but I did feel bad for him when Carl passed he really cared about Opie and he probably considered Carl his best friend
Leave it alone"sniff"
Condolences to his family and friends💛

Why is a meat eater wasting energy dissing vegetarianism, you live in a meat eating world. How did he die anyway, he was so young.
cardiovascular disease
@@hamadax97 oh boy. Maybe he should have tried Meatless Mondays every once in awhile. But I guess he never would've done that
Not only was he a legend among his chef and foodie people, he was absolutely loved by legends in stand up comedy.
