As a landscaper for 20 years I found a secret to that mess is a snow shovel with a sharp edge. When you get under the carpet of muck u can roll it back like a carpet. Plus it’s great for moving the wet dirt and muck. Being female a short female I had to get creative at times. Work smarter not harder!

Once I realized they were going to power wash the entire excavated driveway I just had to ask myself why? It was going to make a hell of a lot of mess. Just go at it with a flat shovel and go to town. Then just power wash the residual. All that mud ends up in the town's drain system and clogs it up.

I got in trouble at my job for helping a disabled person. I was shocked. I was more shocked to learn the reason they did not want me to help this person was because they thought it looked bad for the business. I am so glad I found your channel, you gave me faith in humanity. I know there are people out there who do care about helping others. So when someone critiques you for what you are doing, you can say I am restoring faith in humanity. I like the Blues Brothers when they said I am on a mission from God. Also a preacher helped me to work through, she told me, when you stand before God on judgement day and atone for your sins, I doubt God is going to ask your boss if he wants to add anything. God is not going to ask the trolls their opinion either. She also said, you know the difference between right and wrong, stop asking silly questions.

I was married for almost 25 years. My now ex husband and I ran a tree timming company in Colorado during our marriage with 8 employees, 2 were our sonsa It was, and still is, a very successful business as my ex still runs it after I sold him my half. We did a lot of jobs for senior citizens esp, for free. And I can tell you it's very expensive work to do with high overhead. Gas, equipment, vehicles, payroll, dumping, insurance, etc is not cheap. . Yard clean up especially jobs as big as the ones I'm seeing on this channel are expensive, labor intensive, and hazardous just as much as is tree removal, trimming, feedings, shrubs, gas, stump grinding, technical removals, insurance, etc. So what is being quoted here for job cost is an extremely reasonable price. Anyway I enjoy your channel. I just subscribed yesterday, I miss my Company and the rewards of it. I love doing this kind of work. Keep up the good work, you do a beautiful job.

I felt for you because of the effort required to clear the original driveway. Glad dad was there to help.
The voice overs were amazing, thanks for sharing, lots of wisdom. They paralleled the job. If we have years of negative thoughts, experiences and unanswered challenges it takes a deliberate effort and desire to rediscover who we can be.

You could tell the original owners took pride in their home and had money to put into it. It is unfortunate that the current owners lack the resources to maintain the property. The sidewalk is broken. The entire lower front of the siding is compromised on the house. The current owners are probably less than ten years away from having some structural issues due to rot penetration into the foundation and outer wall.
On a side note, it is surprising the driveway slab between the two trees is in as good a shape as it is. I'd have expected the roots to have completely compromised it at this point.

I've been struggling with my walk with God. Your video has really got me thinking I was a member of a church (an active member). Since 2009 my wife ran the nursery for 10 years. They got a new youth pastor and he had someone he. Felt wanted to run the nursery. So while our Pastor was on vacation they gave my wife the boot When the Pastor returned ha had to back his new youth pastor. Which would have been fine but there is a way of doing things. He talked down to my wife. He lucky I didn't knock him out. They didn't even say thank you for volunteering in the nursery where they were always short people. Her volunteering really affected our lives. But she was committed to it. What really makes me made is I knew because of COVID that tithes were down. I knew I had money coming in the next couple of months so I tithed on money before I had it $23.000 I gave. It makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm glad a couple of people stepped up to help you - I don't know how you kept going!!! I got tired just watching!! It is nice to hear inspirational things of how people can do and overcome but I would rather hear about Jesus who is the one that can do for me what no one else can do for me and that is to change my heart, forgive my sins, save my soul, take away my fears, pick me up when I fail and allows me to enter into heaven when I die. Knowing that, I know He is the one that overcame this world so I don't have to worry. He is the One that leads me as I live. He also shows me how to love my enemies and to forgive those that are spiteful to me because he loves and forgives me. It is those things things break barriers and allow God's love to flourish. I also thank you for your willingness to use your talents of lawn care to help those that cannot.

Not only a great benefit to the homeowner, and a good hard day's work, but such a satisfying transformation, like ASMR in a way. As I watched you work (from the comfort of my recliner, of course), I kept theorizing to myself how I'd like to attack this or that part of it, and what I came up with might be useful on the part that's left, later.
What about edging it first along the original edge with the power washer, then the cutters to cut through the web of vines and roots. Now that it's detached from the original edge, start with a shovel on the uphill side, working back and forth to start an edge, then start a roll, then use a bobcat blade to roll it up downhill like a roll of sod, scoop and lift, while advancing. Then get a chain around the roll, hook it to the bobcat, and drag it back uphill and roll it over to the side. Then pressure wash the dirt out of this huge jellyroll of dirt and roots, while it's uphill and far from the street, to not clog the storm drain, without shoveling.
I think that would be very satisfying to watch, like someone rolling up an old carpet. But, no doubt there are a hundred things I'm not accounting for, since it's all a big theoretical exercise.... for me, that is. Still, a fun one.
Great transformation, Kevin! Keep up the good work! All this goodness you're putting out there helps us all, including yourself, in ways we might not ever know. Because good begets good. Always has.

I absolutely love your positive attitude and that you are able and willing to be out helping your community for free. I have no idea why watching lawn cutting videos is so interesting to me, but it is captivating. I mow my own lawn partly because it would just be another expense I have to pay for and partly because it is a bit cathartic when I'm hot, sweaty, and tired from mowing. God Bless you brother.

If you're ever in Harrison, Nebraska, we have some lilacs that need taming and a sidewalk that needs clearing. I used to love doing this stuff, but the older we get, the harder the work is. You do such an awesome job, and such a service to your fellow man/woman. I thank you for sharing these videos with us.

Call and support a local landscapper or contact your local high schools to see if a club/organization could help you. If that fails, see if a community/church organization can help you. There is help out there for you.

@@terrywilliams9327 We kind of live out in the middle of nowhere. Our local high school is closed for the summer, and the nearest landscaper is about 70 miles away. We're kind of on our own in this tiny village of 251 pop.. We don't really need the help badly enough to pay someone to come 70 miles. I was just commenting because Lawn Care Juggernaut had mentioned that he would be travelling the country.

Fellow Oklahoman here. I live in a lake community in Wagoner. I love watching you work! Power washing is therapeutic to me. I LOVE the instant gratification! You are doing such a great service for people in need. My family and I have lived in our home for 7 years. I've slowly been acquiring all the supplies I need to clean and repaint the exterior of our home. When we bought it, it had been empty for quite some time and had been neglected for years before that. I watch your videos for tips and tricks to help make my job go as smoothly as it can. I'm almost there! We have a tall house so we're going to have to rent a bucket lift because I'm too scared to try and attempt it on a ladder. That is my next task to save up for and then I think I'm ready. My husband thinks I'm crazy for wanting to paint it myself but I LOVE being able to stand back and say, "I did that!"
We have so much yard work and landscaping to try and keep up with and we are surrounded by older folks who have the same problem. We try to help them keep their ditches and edges of their properties clear since we know they can't keep up with it. We get a lot of rain and debris that clog our ditches and tinhorns, which causes our driveway to wash out every spring. By helping the other people surrounding us, we are also helping ourselves. If we keep their ditches clear, our driveway doesn't take such a beating. Hoping to be able to get the house painted, front deck stained, and landscaping cleaned up early this fall. I think it will really enhance the neighborhood and help bring everyone else's property values up. I'm really hoping it will help motivate everyone around to take on projects around their own properties. Our little lake community has really fallen into disrepair. I'd like to be the spark that lights the fire under everyone else.
Keep up the good work! Blessings to you and your family.

I'm glad Robert was there to help you out. Y'all did a really beautiful job and I look forward to seeing you come back to finish the driveway, unless your Dad gets to it first. I found a website here in Burlington, NC that shows violations of all types including tall grass. I found one for a nearby abandoned property at the end of my neighborhood and took my lawn tractor over and cut the grass. Met the neighbor who has a beautiful home next to it and explained why I was there.
You never know when you may meet a new friend and the feeling you get when you make your neighborhood a little nicer is priceless.

I’ve had to clear off overgrown trails on a military base back when I did landscaping for about 6 years and if you take an edger and turn it a little sideways you could have cleared a lot of that dirt while also cutting through the roots before starting with the pressure washer it would have been wayyy easier and quicker. Might have gone through a whole blade but worth it in my eyes

hey man I wanna say I really respect the work you're doing. the fact that you've found a way to do what you love, for free, AND get paid, is so fucking cool and I think it'd be cool to see more people provide services this way. we'd get a look into the skilled work that service people and laborers do for us every day, maybe develop a little more empathy and respect for people who do physical jobs, outside of offices and for less money than doctors and lawyers. plus, people get a service that they need, and the community is made more beautiful in the process.
