The manufacturing industry is NOT flourishing in SA..so these mechanical engineering students..will at best end up in maintenance or quality engineering jobs..as Research and development is mostly ONLY after market products...automotive industry is also not flourishing....in other words(its cheaper for anything to be manufactured overseas,than SA)..Mech Eng guys end up branching into other carrers🤞🤞

Mechanical is broad.. It's beyond manufacturing and automotive.... Mining.. Power plant.. Air conditioning.. Construction.. materials... Pumps many more

I did Maths, Accounting, Life Sciences, and physical Sciences, can do mechanical, or electrical engineering at universities, because i think they require a technical subject EGD?

It's not necessary required it's just an added advantage to have done it but all your subjects are fine for engineering
