When I joined as a starter, I just joined starter lobbies and causal lobbies, it allowed me to learn the game’s mechanics without being distracter dependent or carried by other pro players- and boom I had a massive learning curve. Seriously there is a reason newbies should not be carried by pros…

Yeah, one time I was playing as poppy, and I saw a glisten saying ‘abc for pro run (no starters)’ or smth. And I decided to just say ‘abc’, the Glisten was like ‘no starters! Can you read?’ And the Toodles next to him was like ‘bro look at the trinkets, they aren’t a starter’, I had the Vanity Mirror and the dog plush. So I was allowed in, but I didn’t join. I actually allow starters to join when i am hosting a run but my friend only allows Boxtens but not Poppys because their too 'useless'. But one time a Poppy was in a run and she was actually making herself useful such as telling everyone to go to the elevator and doing machines and i complimented her that she is useful and everyone in the run agreed.

So going back to the argument on Toonism... So as it stands, my opinion is still the same. The Toonism issue is two sided. There are people who are choosing negative ways to respond whenever a starter toon joins a main only lobby. And this negative reaction is becaused by the negative decision of some people choosing to ignore other's wishes. I'm going to repeat some stuff I said in another comment section, but I want to bring up my solution to this issue and also highlight the toxicity that is arrising. The entire point of a main only run is to get in a run with more experienced players. Yes, determining experience based on someone's possession of mains has its flaws. So I think that it would be better to just have a 'experienced player lobby' teleportation in the lobby in order to differentiate the less experienced from the more experienced. In order to get into the experienced player lobby, someone would have to have completed requirements to do so. EX: Must have gotten to floor 20, Must have 10 toons, must have experienced etc. I think that this would be a more efficient way to judge someone's experience as anybody who had gotten to this pro lobby must be experienced. It would also be more beneficial to starter toons because they will receive less hate from experienced people from 'dying on floor 1'. In addition, it would also allow those who want to help new players to better find those who need help. I feel like nobody has been talking about how toxic the community has come, especially now. It has gotten a lot worse than it was a month ago. Of course, this increase in toxicity has come from both sides. But surprisingly, mostly from the side of people who want to join a main run and change into a character who isn't a main. I've noticed that a lot more people have been doing 'Starters only runs' or 'no mains run'. In addition, people have been more inclined to disrespect the wishes of people who want main only runs. On the surface level, it may seem that this is just a situation of 'giving people a taste of their own medicine' or 'if people can exclude every character but mains, then we can do the opposite'. However, the difference between 'main only runs' and 'no main allowed runs/ starter only runs' is that these runs are made out of pure spite to those who want main only runs. Hatred is the reason why these runs exist (there can be exceptions, but this is the main reason). And that just isn't right. People who make 'main only runs', usually only do it for more experienced players as I mentioned before. Whereas the 'anti mains' runs are for the purpose of showing hatred and being spiteful. If you agree that these 'anti-runs' are fine, you are essentially being worse than the people who make 'main only runs'. You are also teaching other players that this behavior is fine when it isn't. I know I typed a lot, but I just really think that not enough people are talking about the rise in toxicity.

Most runs are often for research grinding, so regardless of stigma, if they see a suboptimal character, they will reject them. So while lots of runs do involve wanting pros only, issues also arise because others want to gain by being host and therefore exempt for the sake of main info grinding
Ngl People not letting starters in there runs is pretty unfair, like they will allow a toodles who is brain dead and doesn't use trinkets but they won't let a boxten who has over 20+ floors and actually knows how trinkets and all the other stuff works, im also one of those people who allow starters, bc they just need to learn, if they never play they will never know how to play, so even if you don't want starters in your run, still let them you were also one beforehand, just bc you have a better toon doesn't mean you are good. I think that Poppy's and boxtens are good toons it's just that some people want to play with people who know how to play the game so they don't want starters in their run
If u saw their trinkets their most likely experienced and prob trying to get mastery on boxy boo 😭 I have never seen a no trinket boxten go that far without getting carried and most pebbles are decent idk what runs ur joining

Every time when i am doing a run with starters i always try to teach them or help them in some way even if they die between the 5 floor some of them are really good, for example one time i had a Boxten the other players all died in the first floors i was a goob btw but he was really great he have gotten to the 13th floor, the only why he didn't gotten in futter floors is because he left to see how good he was! He didn't even have trinkets too and didn't know much of the game. Another time was with a Poppy i noticed that she was alone staring at the elevator and i notice that she didn't have trinkets so i knew she just started the game, so i asked her if she wanted me a Lavender Tisha to play with her and she was so excited because it was her first time and didn't know how the game works, she was such a lovely Poppy❤
I was discriminated heavily around mid-game because I had glisten and wanted to join main only runs, so I grinded for weeks to get vee and finally could join them. It felt good when I could join them though.
I remember this one time where this one dude (an Astro) wanted to do a main run. Dozens of people (they weren't mains) came up to him, he said "wow, y'all don't know what a main run is" AND LEFT. BRO WE ARE NOT MADE OF MONEY, those characters are EXPENSIVE.
I'm not a main player myself, but if you "aren't made of money" and don't have a main WHY WOULD YOU JOIN A MAIN RUN?? 😭 The whole point of a ***MAIN*** run is for only people who have a main toon to join. If you don't have a main yourself, why the heck would you join?? Join another run instead, it isn't that hard 💀

Correct me if I'm wrong and there's another solution pls. 1st The game age rate is +9, not all kid's parents going to allow them to have discord + add strangers in order for them to play in private servers. 2nd there's a lot of runs other kids/teens do and they don't mind anyone joining, so why force yourself into a team that doesn't want you no matter what is the reason. 3rd I think the devs should create runs system where they can select certain toons or just runs creation where the host must accept your join request.

the thing is with starters is if you let them in you’ll just have a wasted spot and if they have good toons, why are they playing as starters. (they should’ve done mastery as it already so mind mastery)
For boxten i can see why they don't have mastery: One of boxten mastery quests require A FULL LOBBY to survive floor 1! But because majority of people are newbies who die or leave, boxten mastery quest becomes hell (and with this toonism going on it will be hard to be accepted in the runs)

I dont mind starters in my runs just not too many of them as i dont own any mains yet so i cant carry a whole server of newbies ill atleast accept 1-5 starters depending on how many newbies wanna join

You are basically saying Dandy Research should always be at 0% because Dandy Runs are worse than Normal Runs because starters most likely won’t be able to get through. This happened to me today, I joined a normal run with bunch of people who has mains and they said mean things and some of them tried to grief me and they didn't even say it was main run or asked me gently to leave.

As someone who's playing dandy world when it's released Pro PPL don't let weak toons play bcs they die early And pro usually share work And PPL with new toons have rigged stats But then later when new player joining they start bullying other new comers after getting mains

i think that's actually smart to just do it in a private lobby, but its kinda sad that people don't care or don't pay attention to it. i mostly only play in private lobbies, since i like to play alone most of the time unless i think i need help with something, like possibly living just a bit longer (i suck and can only get to probably floor 4 alone) but i'm getting better. i might invite my friend tonight to help me cause maybe they have a distractor toon or healer toon like cosmo or uhhh... i forgor his name. i need to play brightney so i can get all her mastery quests done so i can check something off for Vee.

Guys I need help: Is it "Toonism" when I say "no Shrimpos" when trying to host a run? From my experience, whenever there is a Shrimpo in a run, the Shrimp ALWAYS dies at floor 1, no matter who the player is, and me, I don't like it when someone dies because I just tend to feel bad, so to prevent me from feeling the disappointment that is guaranteed when someone dies so early in the run, I say "No shrimpos" when hosting a run. However, I let literally anyone else in; Boxten, Poppy, Tisha, Finn, Toodles, Mains, Goob, Scraps, Glisten, literally anyone (other than Shrimpo) is allowed in the run, and I don't prevent starters from joining because I know how it was like when I was still a beginner at the game and saw others preventing starters from joining their runs and I felt frustrated because preventing starters from joining means they can't play with others and they won't IMPROVE to become BETTER players at all. (I feel like I'm one of those AITA redditors but I genuinely want to know if I'm doing it wrong or not💀👍)
I think the hate towards starters comes from the fact that USUALLY (not always) they dont have game sense, so they’ll end up dying really quick and its probably because they are too young to understand how to play “correctly” (escaping from twisteds, doing machines without missing the skill check, etc). BUUUUTTT thats not a justification to start insulting new players and wishing them to die (i’ve seen it before), becuase everyone was once a new player, so there’s no reason to be so agressive. Poppy is intended to be a survivalist (mostly solo) while boxten is a team extractor

The funny thing is, I have only ever seen one pebbles make it past floor 5, and I’ve seen multiple boxtens make it to floor 15 in my runs
If u saw their trinkets their most likely experienced and prob trying to get mastery on boxy boo 😭
I have never seen a no trinket boxten go that far without getting carried and most pebbles are decent idk what runs ur joining

Every time when i am doing a run with starters i always try to teach them or help them in some way even if they die between the 5 floor some of them are really good, for example one time i had a Boxten the other players all died in the first floors i was a goob btw but he was really great he have gotten to the 13th floor, the only why he didn't gotten in futter floors is because he left to see how good he was! He didn't even have trinkets too and didn't know much of the game.
Another time was with a Poppy i noticed that she was alone staring at the elevator and i notice that she didn't have trinkets so i knew she just started the game, so i asked her if she wanted me a Lavender Tisha to play with her and she was so excited because it was her first time and didn't know how the game works, she was such a lovely Poppy❤
I was discriminated heavily around mid-game because I had glisten and wanted to join main only runs, so I grinded for weeks to get vee and finally could join them. It felt good when I could join them though.
I allow starters to my run cuz theres a 50-50 chance they will turn into a good toon or just to help them reach floor 10
I remember this one time where this one dude (an Astro) wanted to do a main run. Dozens of people (they weren't mains) came up to him, he said "wow, y'all don't know what a main run is" AND LEFT. BRO WE ARE NOT MADE OF MONEY, those characters are EXPENSIVE.
Then you can just join a different run
I'm not a main player myself, but if you "aren't made of money" and don't have a main WHY WOULD YOU JOIN A MAIN RUN?? 😭 The whole point of a ***MAIN*** run is for only people who have a main toon to join. If you don't have a main yourself, why the heck would you join?? Join another run instead, it isn't that hard 💀

Correct me if I'm wrong and there's another solution pls.
1st The game age rate is +9, not all kid's parents going to allow them to have discord + add strangers in order for them to play in private servers.
2nd there's a lot of runs other kids/teens do and they don't mind anyone joining, so why force yourself into a team that doesn't want you no matter what is the reason.
3rd I think the devs should create runs system where they can select certain toons or just runs creation where the host must accept your join request.

shrimpo might be incredibly hard to play as, but i love emo shrimpo. and i play as him for fun not strats. (i only play with my friends tho)
the thing is with starters is if you let them in you’ll just have a wasted spot and if they have good toons, why are they playing as starters. (they should’ve done mastery as it already so mind mastery)
For boxten i can see why they don't have mastery: One of boxten mastery quests require A FULL LOBBY to survive floor 1! But because majority of people are newbies who die or leave, boxten mastery quest becomes hell (and with this toonism going on it will be hard to be accepted in the runs)

i hate people who complain about non-mains not being allowed in a MAIN ONLY RUN. The whole point of a main only is to HAVE ONLY MAINS.
But the boxtens and poppies want to play too, they might need some help on learning the game, and it's not fun if they're being gatekept from playing. Not to mention, non-mains are obviously not allowed in a main only run, so how do you do a main only run without annoying non-mains? private servers, discord teams, stuff like that.

You are basically saying Dandy Research should always be at 0% because Dandy Runs are worse than Normal Runs because starters most likely won’t be able to get through. You are literally the reason people cannot have fun in that situation. Even if they go to a private server, it is hard if they have max friends or they have 7/8 or less people.
This happened to me today, I joined a normal run with bunch of people who has mains and they said mean things and some of them tried to grief me and they didn't even say it was main run or asked me gently to leave.

Pro PPL don't let weak toons play bcs they die early
And pro usually share work
And PPL with new toons have rigged stats
But then later when new player joining they start bullying other new comers after getting mains
To be honest sometimes we just want main only runs cause of people who know how to play not like you can’t play other toons and be good but people who have mains ussually know the game we are just not taking risks

I kind of had the same situation, i wanted to join a run as toodles because i wanted to play as toodles and they didnt accept me because they thought i was a starter, i decided to change to a main Toon then the host said "bruh you are obviously one of those trolls" like bro i just want to play as toodles?? 😭😭
i think that's actually smart to just do it in a private lobby, but its kinda sad that people don't care or don't pay attention to it. i mostly only play in private lobbies, since i like to play alone most of the time unless i think i need help with something, like possibly living just a bit longer (i suck and can only get to probably floor 4 alone) but i'm getting better. i might invite my friend tonight to help me cause maybe they have a distractor toon or healer toon like cosmo or uhhh... i forgor his name. i need to play brightney so i can get all her mastery quests done so i can check something off for Vee.

Is it "Toonism" when I say "no Shrimpos" when trying to host a run? From my experience, whenever there is a Shrimpo in a run, the Shrimp ALWAYS dies at floor 1, no matter who the player is, and me, I don't like it when someone dies because I just tend to feel bad, so to prevent me from feeling the disappointment that is guaranteed when someone dies so early in the run, I say "No shrimpos" when hosting a run. However, I let literally anyone else in; Boxten, Poppy, Tisha, Finn, Toodles, Mains, Goob, Scraps, Glisten, literally anyone (other than Shrimpo) is allowed in the run, and I don't prevent starters from joining because I know how it was like when I was still a beginner at the game and saw others preventing starters from joining their runs and I felt frustrated because preventing starters from joining means they can't play with others and they won't IMPROVE to become BETTER players at all.
(I feel like I'm one of those AITA redditors but I genuinely want to know if I'm doing it wrong or not💀👍)

I think the hate towards starters comes from the fact that USUALLY (not always) they dont have game sense, so they’ll end up dying really quick and its probably because they are too young to understand how to play “correctly” (escaping from twisteds, doing machines without missing the skill check, etc). BUUUUTTT thats not a justification to start insulting new players and wishing them to die (i’ve seen it before), becuase everyone was once a new player, so there’s no reason to be so agressive.
