The ending with Lucifer saying "you and me, we're done" gets me every single time, because as you so rightly pointed out, you can tell how absolutely gutted Maze is by the thought that she has ruined her relationship with Lucifer for good. And I also think it is clear how hurt Lucifer is by her betrayal, as he has trusted her so completely, and clearly never imagined that she would ever go behind his back and plot against him.
To add on, in the comics (to bad this show is like the opposite of comic) lucifer and maze are lovers

😂😂😂 This is complicated because Lucifer is foriegn to any emotion least above love so it will be a long ride before he realizes that he has feelings for Chloe, and also Chloe. She doesn't know the difference between having a partner at work from having someone she is intimately interested in... blurred line that she will have to discover.
This came at the right time. I was spiralling because of the last shoot day for SPN and the death of Diana Rigg, so thank you Dakara

She has a full plate to deal with, Looks like she is into several shows... watching, editing, and uploading isn't as easy thanks to copyright thugs and trying to give each fandom their show's reaction. Given she is still on season one, just enjoy that there are 4 more in the future... and the giant that is Supernatural will be her biggest mountain of seasons to conquer.
Gotta say, seriously impressed with how well you read the coming plots - Well Done, Detective :D

And enjoying your reactions to Lucifer. I watched one through seven yesterday, and was happy to see this posted today. Add watch to do some Supernatural before but somehow forgot to subscribe so I took care of that today. But yeah you've called a lot of stuff right on this one as you're watching it. Love your reference to some other shows as well. I get the tamsin vibes... Lucifer has been a great fill-in (i lingered away a couple of years ago mid S3, now I am on 5x1 tonight) while waiting for the last SPN eps.. Gonna miss the boys. Wynonna has been great fun too... 'supernatural' and comic and sci-fi have had lots of fun runs, hopefully that'll continue.
Anyway, sorry for the book ( voice dictating always goes along with me) but I have really enjoyed your take on things.
your intuition is very good at discovering the characters.
In order to understand the next episode (one of the best of season 1 to my liking) you have to see what situation Lucifer is in at the end of this episode, Maze betrayed him, his brother used his therapist to manipulate him, Dr. Linda doesn't want to have sex with him anymore (for her own reasons), Chloe is getting closer to Dan again and Lucifer feels that he loses his partner, in short Lucifer feels lonely and abandoned.

The show that I will seek out reactions for is _Manifest._ It's different from _Lucifer_ is that _Manifest_ withholds more info from the audience. On _Lucifer,_ we see things and then watch as the characters slowly learn the truth.

Thank you so much once again for another reaction for Lucifer! I enjoy this episode overall, although it is one of my least favorite episodes within season one. At least in regards to the actual case itself, whereas the background story going on with each of the characters is certainly really interesting. There is a lot of good going on with a number of the characters that I really love, but the overall case most certainly is pretty weak in comparison to most others. I don't care much for the case at all, aside from it helping to develop Lucifer's jealousy and to help bring Linda more into this show's overall story, other than for the show to use her simply as Lucifer's therapist and sex partner.
Now, as for the title of this episode being Et Tu, Doctor?... it comes from one of Shakespeare's most famous plays, Julius Caesar, and is taken from one of its most famous lines... "Et Tu, Brute", spoken by Caesar to his General and closest friend once he betrays Caesar, when Brute and a number of other traitors stab him over and over until Julius Caesar is dead. The words from both the title and when spoken by Lucifer, are a question simply meaning, "Even you?" It's a meaning spoken when one feels betrayed, just as Lucifer felt betrayed by Linda when she turned on him and sided with Chloe, then again felt betrayed in the end by Maze as well. I really love this.
I love how every episode title is always name dropped into each episode except for in the Pilot, and that about 90% of the titles are spoken by Lucifer, while the rest are spoken by one of the other characters. Brilliant!
As for the episode itself... I really like how this is Lucifer's first experience with feeling jealousy, which is his only real reason for disliking Dan, and why he continuously calls him Detective Douche. Because he's worried about Chloe still possibly being in love with him and that they may wind up getting back together, when he's come to be drawn to her himself even though he doesn't understand his feelings for her either.
Dan really isn't a bad guy. I really like his character overall. He's a good man, who really cares deeply about Chloe and their daughter no matter what comes of their marriage. Although, Dan has definitely made some big mistakes with Malcolm and whatever his involvement with Malcolm is. Dan wound up shooting Malcolm at Palmetto Street for reasons unknown at this point, while Malcolm then shot his partner, Detective Anthony Paolucci, and made it appear like he had committed suicide in order to help cover up the truth about what really happened at Palmetto Street. And now... Dan is unfortunately caught between a rock and a hard place, because Malcolm is looking to want to keep working with him, and Dan is afraid of the truth coming out. Not just because he's afraid of what Chloe and his daughter will come to think of him, but because he's ashamed of his involvement, and also because Malcolm has now threatened his relationship with his family, and their lives.
As for Dan encouraging Chloe to trust her instincts and to keep working to solve this case as he does in the previous episode... until the last episode, Wingman, Dan has been trying to encourage her to leave the case alone like everyone else, mostly to protect her. However, upon seeing Chloe's determination to solve the mystery, especially with Malcolm almost dying in the end of the previous episode, Dan has come to realize that he has to show Chloe his support if he doesn't want to push her away, or if he doesn't want her to push him away should he deny her his help and support.
Next... I really love how Lucifer makes it possible for Linda to become involved with them in their case. Him sleeping with the judge to get her to sign off on Dr. Martin is wrong and I don't condone his actions in the slightest, but the moment between them was funny. And I just love how Linda is able to give Lucifer and Chloe the information they need to help them figure out who all might be involved.
I also love how Chloe and Linda come to an understanding between one another, and that by getting to know Chloe more so, it allows for Linda to see a new insight into Lucifer's struggles so she can continue to help him. And in so doing, Linda also realizes that she no longer wants to sleep around with him because she no longer wishes to go against her ethics she knows she's broken. Linda really does care about helping her patients, and she's especially invested in trying to help Lucifer because she's come to care for him as a close friend. This episode has certainly given me a greater appreciation for Linda.
And I also really appreciate that Lucifer also understands respects Linda's wishes, because he is a good guy and he would never intentionally hurt anyone he cares about.
One of this show's major themes is seeking redemption, and by Linda getting to know Chloe and Lucifer more so, it allows her to seek out redemption for herself. And while Dan is caught in the middle of something bad, we still see that there's a part of him longing for redemption too. At least in Chloe's eyes.
Also... I love that this episode begins with Lucifer celebrating what he's come to make his re-birthday, as a celebration of finally being freed of his father's and brother's hold over him, which is what he saw his wings to be. And I love that Chloe comes to LUX to offer him a special drink as a gift to celebrate with him, even though she brings Dan along and can't stay for more than a few minutes. It's interesting to me that in this scene, in spite of their banter and coldness towards one another, that Dan actually appears to be happy about being there when he drinks to Lucifer with Chloe. Until that jealousy rises up in both Lucifer and Dan, especially in Lucifer when Chloe leans in to hug him before she and Dan leaves LUX, then later leans in to hug Dan at Paolucci's crime scene to offer Dan comfort.
As for Lucifer learning the lesson Linda has tried to help him with about his jealousy through his and Chloe's case... I really felt that there was really no closure with this part of the storyline, which was a bit disappointing. I mean... when Lucifer confronts and figures out who the killer is, it appears like he's figured out that he really is jealous towards Dan because he cares about Chloe, and yet, he still strangely refuses to admit it. And I don't really like that much. Although... it also appears he is joking around with Chloe a little in the ending about having come to terms with his jealousy, so perhaps he isn't so much as denying he's jealous, but that he is simply choosing to suppress it instead. And I can certainly understand that.
Also... this case does help him to understand the feeling of jealousy more by the end, enough to help him recognize that Maze told Amenadiel about Linda because she had become jealous that Lucifer was changing from being the Devil she wants him to be. And I do like and appreciate that too.
In spite of the green screen special effects looking really bad and more so than I've ever seen in any other episode... I love the scene on the roof between Lucifer and their first suspect who is about to kill himself, and how Lucifer actually helps the suspect find the will to go on living inadvertently. This scene was quite funny. And I love how cocky Lucifer is with him too.
And lastly... I love that Lucifer is able to figure out the truth about Amenadiel being Dr. Canaan by the end through Linda, then how he confronts Maze upon realizing that the only one who could have told his brother about the doctor was her. It's interesting to see Lucifer turn against Maze, upon feeling betrayed yet again by his protector too.
Overall... a solid episode, where the characters are once again what makes this show so good. I enjoy this episode, and I really enjoyed watching your reaction for it. So thank you! I can't wait for more!!! So until next time...

Lucifer keeps saying hes the devil to Chloe, but he doesnt ever show his devil care until much later on. He could simply prove it to chloe, but that would end the show. Of course hes also an angel, but doesnt want to show that.; Lucifer can be his own worst enemy

The show isn't really consistent on whether Linda is a psychologist or a psychiatrist. I believe it's the latter, because she will, in a future season, mention having been to medical school.

Is that parrot thing amusing? I never mock people about their pets. African Greys are super smart, smarter than other parrots, as smart as a small human child, and expensive. I think it would be devastating to lose one. It must be a meme back home for you, I am unfamiliar with it.

@@DakaraJayne interesting that you only posted initially the part about her screaming about her parrot as if mocking her. Losing a pet, parrot or not, is not amusing...the writers put that comment in Lucifer's mouth, and I did not like it then or now, and I have seen all these episodes many, many times.
