Sorry to hear about the tractor, Another youtuber had the same problem with a JD reman. Swore he would never use another. Now he rebuilds them himself. He used the trick of hooking it up to another tractors hydraulics to move it around. Wish you the best of luck with it. You and your team did a great job of moving everything around to rescue the tractor. Thanks as always for taking us along.

Being a die hard John Deere man it hasn't been easy but with the larger amount of issues with this newer generation of tractors lately we've been seriously considering Versatile for our larger tractors, they run Cummins engines and CAT transmissions, two companies that have their shit together in the industrial market.

The last tractor I bought was 1982 Stiger Cummins engine & Eaton transmission. I hope that if I was still farming I would still be using it. The bank said that I was through farming in 1985. Sometimes I’m almost glad, not often.

Originally designed and built by some farmers in northern MN with the intended purpose of having a 4 wheel drive tractor for themselves. My tractor had a similar problem before I bought it, the head gasket blew between a cylinder and the coolant but was a very small leek between the 2 and the engine would run. It sat for a week and when they they tried to start it 1 cylinder fired(it would start on less than half a turn) but when piston 2 came up with the small amount of water in it, it was enough to break the conrod and sent it through the block. I bought it cheap in non working condition but had to buy a second hand block for it, we did a complete build while at it so its good for a while now, Touch wood.

Man Deer reman engines are a roll of the dice. I’ve seen others on RUclips put in reman and some last and some like that and so don’t even make it past the trip to test out the engine before leaving the Mechanic. Deer needs to step up there game. Time is money and lost time of a tractor can be very difficult on farmers/ranchers and then have to do it again over a crappy reman that didn’t last!

I would say there was a fair bit of heat and knocking in that engine before that final destruction. Be interesting to examine the rod bolt remains and if that piston is welded into the liner as part of the post mortem. I'm no farmer but if I was, I might be asking myself if I had too much green paint around me as it doesn't look up to much. Good luck.

Rain, wet road, mud, oily tyres and road surface, what more could you want !!!!! Good job you have wide roads, would have been a nightmare on UK roads.

Where are all those people that were telling you to buy a reman when Jared rebuilt the 8320. Parts quality and rebuilders are substandard. I recently picked up some wheel bearings from John Deere. Took 4 boxes to find the right ones due to misboxed parts

Look at the bright side, you do have a 12 month, unlimited hour warranty on the engine. Still sucks to be out again. Congrats on breaking 100,000 subscribers.
