@@tayahangysl7751idk, i re-watched season 1 recently just to engage myself with the series again, and i kinda agree that this follow-up season is way more enjoyable.
On an objective level, season 1 with its drama and its denser substance with having adapted the major plot points of the source material should be better, but season 2 feels way more enjoyable. I wouldnt be surprised if many prefer this season to the former just for that alone, all fluff and cutesy stuff
And Miyamura sneezed infront of Sengoku in season 1 finale just exactly as the Kyosuke did to Sengoku's dad, which then led to Miya's heartwarming rooftop scene🥺🥺
This also explains more why Hori was upset with Miyamura's sneeze as it was a repeat of something her father did.... 😂😂
This episode is so fun to watch ~ Seeing the Sengokus being teased by the Horis was the best part of this episode ~ Finding out Hori changes ard Sengoku w/o embarrassment was a shocker

Exactly ..they felt they could only do 13 episodes for this show that they never thought would get a second season. They tried to crammed 25 episodes worth of material in 13 episode , and left so much out. As great as these moments are, they did happen during season 1 but we are getting them out of order. I can't say it's better . We need someone who is good at cutting and padting to put all of these scenes into season one in chronological order, then we can watch the whole thing as 1 season.
I hope this isn't too late an answer for you, but look up the Horimiya Supercut by natsumiNH (only the reddit link please), that is if you can stomach the 20GBs of space. natsumiNH made two versions: one that fits everything into a single 9 hour experience (SUPERCUT) if you don't mind binging, and another that makes 4 movies out of them (The Movie (4-part edit)). I'm in the midst of watching that third movie as a Horimiya first timer and so far it's been one of the most beautiful romance anime I've seen. Additionally, you have four variations each of both versions with either english or japanese dub and with either color correction on Piece or not to match with the color palette of the first season (my recommendation to keep artstyle consistency while watching). The first of the four movies became one of my fave romance anime movies. If you can't convince someone to read the manga, give them these at least.

The friendship between Kyosuke and Takeru is so funny. Very nice development for sengoku here . This season is really cool but still these episodes integrated to the first season would have been so perfect !

Perhaps you might remember the scene from Season 1 (episode 10), where Hori is afraid that a guy will take Miyamura away from her (and not a girl), and the she is especially upset that it would be Shindo.... yeah,,, that happened sometime after what we just saw in this episode. 😛

I would have loved this anime way more if they included all this originally. I always felt something was missing, didn't know they cut episodes worth of great content.

sooo.....anyone else feel that the relationship between the hori's and the sengoku's is kinda abusive lol? none of the sengoku's seem to be voulentarily involved with the hori family they seem to just tolerate them lol. Abusive relationships aside......Hori and Miyamura are heart meltingly adorable as usual. This show makes my week every week

7:18 Honestly, this is about the part where I started disliking Hori a little, so I’m glad it was cut out during the first season.
It would be one thing if she had dated her childhood friend in middle school, and they were intimate enough to see each other naked. He’d just be an ex before they began dating. However, they weren’t in that type of relationship, and she had bathed with him as recently as at least two years ago, when they were in the ninth grade and 15 years old; possibly tenth grade, but she denies it going on until they were 16 years old.
One could still excuse that as being in the past before they began dating, but that still makes me question her character. Miyamura would be justified to break up with her at that point. What really made me dislike Hori was that even after having sex with Miyamura, she would still be more comfortable with another guy seeing her naked than him. Meanwhile, she’s jealous of any girl or guy that merely talks to him.
I hope they to make the special part, the time skip.

Day 145 of requesting Alana to watch plastic memories. Horimiya recently released a new chapter (at least i think so) called horimiya piece right around the time the second season started
So.... Am i the only one weirded out that Hori and Rengoku is implied to have been showering together until middle school (grades 7, 8, 9)??? And that Hori is still comfortable showering in front of him at her current age?
Am I just an outlier? Is my country just very conservative and I'm only realizing that now?? Hahaha. It was very weird for me, idk.

The manga included a scene where Morimiya asks Hori how long they took baths together. She begins saying “teen” before catching herself. Then she says “seven, maybe six.” He asks “which teen, sixteen?” Which would’ve been a year ago from that scene (they’re second years here.) She yells, “definitely not 16.”
The last time Hori bathed with another guy was probably when she was 15, before entering 10th grade.

If I recall correctly from the manga they say the Kotatsu was so warm and comfy it would keep making them sleepy.
It's the kotatsu -- if you don't know what it is, it's a table with blanket sides and a heating element inside (under the table top). On cold days (especially during the winter), people would turn on the heater and sit with their legs under it. The warmth on the lower half of your body in a chilly room is quite intoxicating and tends to make people sleepy. 😪

This season is fun, but no whereas good as season 1. S1 is one of the best romance anime ever made, this is simply fun, especially for the manga readers.
Yeah, I like this season but it's a bunch of cute stuff that works in large part because season one laid all foundations for it. But so far it's also all been just fluff, nothing in this season hits on the level of Hori being sick and her insecurity about what her relationship with Miyamura is exactly being entangled with her feelings of abandonment from her mother having to work all the time. In ten years time I'll still think about the scene where Miyamura proposes but I won't remember Hori feeding him fruit.
Granted I'll remember them getting their legs entangled under the table. But that shit's comedy gold.
