I do regional buy exclusively for ore. It helps the miners get paid in the system they're mining and don't need go around with a truckload of ore for 4 extra isk per unit. Comfortable for them. I on the other hand only go collect it from the backwater systems if the volume is worth the trip. Eventually I get it. The large volume piling up makes it profitable for me. Also regional prices have the quality of becoming important in establishing a minimum price for things and it's critical tool in the 'Trade PVP' arena. Also the mighty Sunesis can be turned into a 1600 m3 cargo hauling taxi (sub 2 second alignment) so ... Yeah highsec is just lowsec with CONCORDE.
I once placed a bunch of orders for small scrap stuff around the starting system. Set it to 5 jumps, and when the time came I spent 3+ hours just running around picking stuff up. Not doing that ever again. Now I see people buying same stuff region-wide and I pity their sanity when they realize the hoard-able mistake they may have made. Lesson of the story: do not underestimate the pick-up time needs, it grows exponentially with every jump.
That's why I'm thinking setting a minimum to the buy order might be the way to go. At least it would help a little. If you order 1000 of something and you set the minimum to 100 at most it can end up in 10 systems.
@@ariesgaming2988 Yes, but then again if the item drop rate is one per person per hour then one might end up with nothing. Because the player will do a run around the systems, fill up the cargo with one item of random stuff and sell it all at the nearest station. And it won't be you that's buying. At the end of the day it's a "know your customer" thing.
I think the large-radius buy orders would be best for rare or high-value items, like skins, expensive ships, etc., where saving a 100 million ISK makes it worth the travel.
7am here in Aus, got my coffee and I’m stoked there’s a new vid to watch with it. Cheers
Mkay, I thought you were wandering down a bizarro rabbit hole here, but this is actually useful info. Again.
