Daisuke Ikeda came to California from Japan and this is what he did in one week. Daisuke did some tricks twice so that we could get both angles. Filmed by Vern Laird. Edited by Vitor Borger.
The Japanese skate scene is on another level. I especially love the attention to style; there's something very mid-90's in the style of these kids from Japan.
So good. Companies, please put money behind these Japanese skaters to make street parts. They are too good to go unnoticed and passed off as mere contest skaters.
Or look at it as they getting checks and insurance for street skating. There is no money in skateboarding but independent soccer mom's with advanced college degrees can buy street league tickets thinking they can get graped by sportsball players. 😅
They ARE mere contest contest skaters. Their street parts are vanilla. They hit the same perfect SoCal spots with the same basic tricks. #NeverForgetPearlHarbor
This dude can hardflip massive gaps nearly 100% of the time. In the recent Japanese contest he was doing super high hardflips down the big drop and they were all caught the same, super early and confident. If he ever attempts something huge like el toro I have no doubt he’d bolts a hardflip. Remember Gary Rogers joking about him in his first x games at like 12 years old, he had Cheeto residue on his lips but came out swinging and Gary thought he was gonna be in the young age contest. Was so surprised by how good he was.
Wait I’m thinking of the wrong guy! Was thinking of Daiki Ikeda but they look similar. This could be his older brother because Daiki is a lot younger/smaller atm. Both absolutely rip but Daiki is more in the contest scene. Hoping we get more street footy from these Japanese prodigies.
Cuts to second angle before the landing, and there is no filmer behind him in the second angle. Why are you trying to fool Bones? He didn't land it in the line obviously.
How is it that Arin Lester and Beatrice Domond were turned pro for their board companies without putting out any video parts, but we got guys like Daisuke pumping out bangers for a 3 min part for his bearing sponsor...seems kind of unfair to me.
generalizing a group of people from an entire country😂 i agree on some of them yea but theres some more niche skaters out of japan that are nowhere near robotic
All of this in one week is crazy 🔥
superstitum skating???

Daiki is currently 17 and Daisuke here is 23. Not certain if they’re related or not but both from Tokyo and have a close resemblance.
Yeah they are siblings, not so hard to figure out.
Damn this kid's one of my new favourite skaters
All my respect mister .
Nice style, 👌 smooth sailing with Swiss bearings. Legit street part.
Very good talent.......I hope you all (bones) given him good money.
Beautiful switch flip

Because in skateboarding now and days skills don’t mean much
What’s trendy is what sells unfortunately.
@@trevor_mcdonald being trendy or becoming trans seems to be the ticket to becoming pro these days...
Marketability and logistics ....
It really is that simple ...
If he lived closer to California and had a gimmick he would already be pro
Man arin is good. Criticize domond but leave arin out of it
Awesome style
Shit music
And he’s an “amateur”? All I can do is LOL to any of that being amateur lmao
this video sucks but the skating is good
good skating but wtf is this music?? just make a real track selection god damn
I can’t get enough. The steeze. 🤌
Japanese skaters are boring mane. Too robotic. At least yuto is a respectable Tom penny style reacarnated
generalizing a group of people from an entire country😂 i agree on some of them yea but theres some more niche skaters out of japan that are nowhere near robotic
Yuto aint no Tom Penny. stop it , get some help
Also check out Shin Sanbongi if you like more flow and cool spots in skate parts.
Lamest take ever.
