I was there on a wimpy day and had my legs swept out from under me. I had sand in every possible crevice. The power here is insane the sand grains are larger than average and you can feel chafed from sand blasting rather easily. Having experienced this on a small day I can not fathom how these guys survive just one of these massive slam dunks without breaking bones and sand shoved deeply into every nostril and ear canal

Back in the 90s my aunt had a boyfriend from PB. My pops had a house on 24th St and she came to visit with her boyfriend. He was a bad ass local dude from down south. He always wanted to see the wedge so we went down there. It was huge that day and he went out and got demolished. I'll always remember his face when he got out of the water. I think he found a new respect for Newport that day.
