you think indutrial complex is big but eve you ever try to go to five pebles without going to the wall and NOT koing the map cuz you never played the game before? cuz my firts experience was AWSOME, 6h in-game and 20h real time

fun fact: scavenger tolls and they tribes have interesting behaviors, and you can use them at your favor first there are 2 areas in a scavenger toll, the first one is a circle near the center of the toll, usually near or bellow the rain deer skull, unless you did pay the scavs, do NOT get near it, if you cross to the other side of the circle without paying the tribe in the toll will turn hostile regardless if you do turn around and they most likely will kill you on the spot, this circle also marks the items at the scavs consider of the tribe, take one of those items and you are dead unless you imediately crouch and drop it, the second one is a circle twice as big as the main circle, this limits how far the scavs are normally going to and where they accept payment the items at the scavs use have different value sets for them, for example something like a mushroom haves a value of 1, a spear haves a value of 3 (explosive ones have a value of 4), overseer eyes have a value of 8 and pearls and vulture masks have a value of 10, just for put a fex examples (basically if you see a scav holding a item it means at they will trade for that item, except rubble who doesn't have any value even if scavs do grab it), for be able to go through a toll safely without losing any rep or dying you have to give the scavs items with a total value of 10 (4 spears, 10 mushrooms, 2 overseer eyes, one pearl), this also is important when trading with scavs since the more value a item haves the more willing they are to trade with you and the more they will give you for the item scavs no only raise they spears for warn you, they also have other gestures, i will list all them since they behave like most scavs - if a scav goes near you, looks directly at you and stands to move it arm, usually the one armed with a spear, up and down, it is telling you to pay/at you didn't pay enough - if you paid enough, a scav will approach you and start to wave it arm above it head to the opposite direction, this means at you are allowed to go through the toll for the rest of the cycle - if a scav points at you, usually with a spear, you (or others) are considered a treat, this is a good way of know if vultures are coming because scavs will see them, point and run away, however if the scav is pointing at your items, usually unarmed, and/or starts to "dig" on the ground with a arm when you have a item on your left hand it means at it wants that item/is willing to trade a lot for that item - if the scav is shaking, it is scared, this is easy to know since they open they eyes more the more scared they are as well (when they first see a predator or the slugcat they will open they eyes wide for a moment as a way to show surprise (and also warn you at they saw you)) - if the scav is apparently digging on the ground/wall, it is scavenging for stuff, they only do this if they are calmed and relaxed, they can do this even if the player is standing right in front of them and here are the uses at tolls have besides of being a annoying obstacle they are great for farm reputation with the scavs of a region and global, if a predator appears (usually lizards on outskirts and vultures on garbage wastes, or even both) and they start to get attacked, if you help them to repel the threat they will like you more, and if a scav was captured and is still alive and you save it your reputation will grow, and it will grow more the more scavs were nearby for see you save that scav (the same goes for if you do absolutely nothing even if you had weapons, be careful), making this a extremely easy way of gain reputation with scavs on tolls, that if you are willing to take risks like accidentally killing a scav, and therefoe also killing yourself, usually, in the process, or at the predator at is supposed to annoy the scavs turns around and goes after you, or at the scavs accidentally kill you because even with the mod at avoids at they do friendly fire they can still miss and hit you by accident (you jump/run into the spear), or you aren't exactly friends with them and they can randomly decide to stab you if you aren't careful (comments remembered me at scabs can get altered of you move/jump around too much if they no like you) they are a safe place if you already paid, and in some cases a good source of food if your slugcat can eat other creatures (vultures and lizards) who come over for try to kill the scavs, or you also a side fact scavs can be blue and can have strange color variations and eyes, by now i have now found 2 times a cyan scav in 2 different campains with white neck, horns, hands and legs and brown eyes with white pupils, a dark blue scav with black horns, neck and torso and a normal grey scav with black head and boy but with pretty violet eyes at became pink the more close they were to it white pupils, i also found a pair of green scavs and in videos i even saw a pink scav, and while in the case of eyes i never found anything too interesting myself i did find scavs with REALLY tinny eyes, they wide, scared eyes being normal size scav eyes, and once i found a scav with depressed eyes, but i am aware at in really rare ocassions you can not only find scavs with only 1 eye (this one is a bug in the graphics i think), but in one ocassion one person in a video found a scav without eyes pd: this time i did check the uploads lmao
Also on a normal situation without high reputation (outside of the toll circles) jumping a lot will be considered threatening and you are likely to be stabbed. A lot of "random" stabbings are just because you jumped too much/approached them too suddenly
@@Enceos you can do it with +90 rep, chiefman is not needed for do this, however is better pay at least partially anyways since your rep can keep increasing, I did this and so far the 2 times I accidentally killed a scav I didn't lose chiefman

So what would be the best advice you coyld give to a new rain woeld player who isn't great at platform games? I would love to get sny advice I could get! I absolutely love the ecological part of Rain World, how it feels & behaves like a living ecosystem. The art/style is gorgeous. However.... I used up all my platforming skills back in the SNES days. Point is, im rusty AF, and im horrible at them now. So advice is appreciated. Even if it is, Die & learn; git gewd.
I'd say always have some sort of weapon either on you or inside you. Like a rock. Even if it seems unimportant, it's a great way to save yourself from situations where you have nothing. The only downside is you might forget about it after like 5 cycles. I'd also say search up videos on how to do combat in rain world. Not just like throwing a rock and then a spear, even if it is that simple. I mean like learning how to backflip, slide, roll, etc. All of that is really helpful for escaping situations as well. For platforming, search up a video on rain world's movement tech. A rock or spear can help you move further too. That's all I can really give you, haha. Others can explain it better. Good luck!
There's a video from a channel named Fist Lorderino that is by far the best guide on the game's movement system, which you'll really need to learn if you want to not suck and get places quickly. Just look up rain world movement guide or something like that Practicing in the arena also helps

If you have achieved max Chieftain, you can pass without paying the toll at the cost of some rep with the scavs.
