Now your fixie bike is at home. Sure, it's a lot of fun to ride in the streets but here you can practice a lot of stuff without worrying about traffic or pedestrians. Nice progression on the no hands track stand. I didn't know NYC has a velodrome. The only one I rode as a professional cyclist is in Bucharest, called Dinamo Velodrome and was built in the 1950's. Sadly it is now abandoned and no longer used for professional track racing. My last competition there was in 2003. Thank you for showing yet another least known part of New York.
I so agree! I wish I lived closer to here cause I would be here all the time! I just googled it! That really is so disappointing! I wish there were more of them! I admire the people who race in them. I love watching them! It's so awesome you got to live that experience, especially now knowing it's gone. Thank you so much for watching! ✨⚙️
@@FixedGearCycling You tick 2 boxes, cruising on the city and then just practicing on the track there, but I understand what you mean. There was a good energy on the velodrome and sometimes when I close my eyes, I can still hear the bells from the starting line, the shouting of the coach, the sound of tires on the concrete surface and the encouragement from teammates. It was a magical time for me. Even though it's gone it still lives in my heart, and I am glad I got to experience it firsthand. Thank you for taking the time to google it. 🙏
I was just at Madison Nationals at the Lexus Velodrome in Detroit. It was sick standing at the top of track looking down as a spectator. A wave of air would come crashing around in front of the riders. The ground under your feet rumbles as they pass. There was one crash early in the night and after that every near miss was horrific. Definitely the most thrilling race I've ever seen.
Wow! I just looked it up, and it looks crazy steep!!! I just watched a video of someone racing and falling, creating a domino effect of others sliding down, too. It's like a slide!
Well, I did it. I watched all your videos in a row. In one video you asked where you should ride. Maybe a circuit of all of NYC? Central Park to the west side sidewalk all the way to Battery Park, across the Brooklyn Bridge, then back across the Williamsburg, then along the east side, back to Central Park. I don't know how far that is, but it'd be awesome to see. I'd love to do it in person.
@@FixedGearCycling I teach at a state college on the island, it's finals, so I'm trying to drag a lot of students across the finish line. But... yeah, I may just pull the cranks and pedals from my Rush and set it up on Sunday haha. Need new bars... drops? maybe...
This is a hidden gem in Queens, NYC. Love the no hands track stand and skids!!!
Right! I wish there was more of them!! Thank you!! 😊✨⚙️
🧘🏻♂️
That looks so fun! 💗
It definitely is! ✨

Thank you! 😊 Do you have one in your area?
@@FixedGearCycling we don’t have velodrome 🤣

Wow, I am watching videos now! The floor looks slippery. It looks waxed, lol! Very steep, wow. Thank you for sharing. I love watching these
I've lived here my whole life and I had no idea this existed. Thank you so much for sharing! I hope you had a wonderful day out there.
Thanks for watching, you should definitely go check it out! ✨⚙️
I rode twice in Prague Motol velodrome, it is 150 metres long and 52 degrees slope… scary af

I appreciate that so much!!!😭✨⚙️ I definitely will challenge myself in doing this route! A Manhattan/Brooklyn lap for sure!
Back at it in the cold! Outstanding! I just inspected my new frame, probably won't get to mess with it for two weeks....
Why such a long wait!? I am addicted to practicing fixed gear. Brings so much peace!

Also, waiting for parts...
is kisenna just open to the public on the off season or do you need a reservation?
Its open to the public! Unless there is an event or training but that's more towards the Spring!
Did you time yourself?
I didn't I definitely will next time! ⏲️
