Hello! Doing the challenge. I have only read 3 books so far but one was 798 pages. Currently reading the fourth which is The Brothers Karamazov, all 965 pages of it. So I'm not reading a lot of books but a lot of pages instead (at least for me). The Brothers I have had since 2013. Thanks to this challenge, I am finally reading it. 😊📚
So, started this 100 book challenge in January this year. I'm pleased to say I'm on book 50 now. Got me speed up this fall and it looks like a challenge I thought would take me 4 years will be taking about two years instead. It has made me read a lot of books I've never would have gotten to without this challenge I think. It's been a fun and bumpy ride so far. :)
Wow, 20 books already. I am stalled out at 3. I am in the middle of a couple though. I need to read more short books. haha! Blood Standard and Apartment 16 are ones I want to check out.
I have a shit ton of books I haven't read but I'm NOT doing the Challenge. I know I'd only be able to do a few before I'd get too frustrated from not being able to get something new. I love going thrifting & always pick up 1-3 books for $.50-1.00. It's one of my fav things to do. I find it therapeutic. lol... I recently found a HB copy of Peyton Place, a book i've been wanting to read for ages, & was soooo thrilled. We moved house recently & I purged a lot of books & I'm being more selective these days (which is what I tell my husband). My big problem isn't buying tons of books, it's READING THEM TOO SLOWLY. Having trouble focusing as I get older. Extremely frustrating. Happy reading everyone!
I have read fifteen ebooks. I'm focusing on ebooks I own for November and December as I have sooooo many of them and when January hits, I plan on swapping to physical books. I'll probably still read a kindle book now and again especially when i travel but i think this way I can tackle both categories easily. Good luck to everyone and happy holidays. ❤
Excellent start 😊. I’ve set myself 125 physical books this year. Sadly my e-reading doesn’t count. I’ve ticked off 40 so far (I started a week early). I’d like to be at 50 by the end of the year, leaving 25 per month for Jan, Feb, March. I’m really enjoying this challenge again 😊
I've decided to broadly speaking not buy any until I've finished the challenge but if I do slip up, it's fine. I'm only counting physical books I've read and decided I'm not keeping (because of the space issue). That being the criteria, I've donated seven and that's 1,792 - going by page count.
Doing better than me, I have only manage to read five books so far but I will going until the temptation to buy is too much of a I reach a number I can be proud of.
It’s all your fault and I’m glad for it. 😂 Way to go! I’m also enjoying that you’re taking it somewhat easy instead of plowing through books like usual. ☺️
I think you mentioned Nobody's Angel in one video, and I read it, but didn't think much of it. You recommended The Thicket, and I am half-way through it. The writing is good, but I think the dwarf angle is strange. I will have to check out some more Joe Lansdale books after finishing The Thicket. Any recommendations for his best books?
What if... You put money related to the pagecount aside like one dollar/Pound for every 100 Pages so you look more forward to the end of the challenge as you Will have a Nice Fund to spend on books.

I think you'd really enjoy both!

That's amazing progress!

I think I might do it after the New year.
You have 100 sports books you haven't read?
@@CriminOllyBlog No, but I probably have a 100 war books, war trash, war comics, that sort of thing. 🤭
I am having a blast doing this challenge.
Brilliant!
Doing better than me, I have only manage to read five books so far but I will going until the temptation to buy is too much of a I reach a number I can be proud of.
Well done!
I am planning on starting Jan 1. Ring in the new year with a fun challenge.
Good luck with it

Only somewhat easy!

The Hap and Leonard series is pretty reliable
Amazon says The Gathering is being released April of 2025. Is it available now elsewhere?
I think that is the paperback, the hardback is out now
@@CriminOllyBlog I'll wait. Thanks!
All the Witnesses are Gone was great. Reading Dead City now.
Oh cool! Hope you enjoy it
@CriminOllyBlog I was all " This is a great book, but it isn't that brutal ", then I got to the baby. 😲
Hi Olly do you unhaul the books after you have read them or do they go back on the shelves?
I unhaul very rarely - I do have some bags in the garage that are marked to be unhauled but I can't bring myself to actually do it

That's a nice idea!
