I looooooove this omg, one of the first thing i did in the game is go for all cemetaries to unlock all the flutes songs, you're playing PERFECTLY, its amazing 🙏
I'm always impressed by your playing and tutorials. When I get the confidence I will see about signing up for lessons. I have been playing only since March . You seem like such an enthusiastic proponent of the instrument with a kind and understanding approach. Thank you for all your videos.they are inspiring.
The game got me more interested in shakuhachi then ever before, used to listen to it for meditation and destress and now I’m looking into learning. Hopefully buying a shakuhachi yuu soon for the affordability, but am considering the bell, but they’re sold out and idk how much they cost! Binging some of your videos definitely encouraged me to learn, i play guitar so I imagine learning less fingerings willl be fairly simple but never played a wind instrument. Hopefully I can learn to!
This is so awesome! On my channel I have 40 videos of shakuhachi lessons for free. Plus translated documents read aloud about the shakuhachi and it's history. I hope you end up getting one and learning. It changed my life. :-)
Renzoh Flutes just got a 100$ bonus check from my work since were furloughed for quarantine, that and your comment combined.. just bought one! I’ll continue enjoying the content and hopefully learn some from you. Hope you’re enjoying japan, hope to visit When everything blows over
@@TairyuShakuhachi you are most welcome! So wonderful, I have seen many of your videos. I would love to see you do Kagura Theater in Hiroshima...I bet you could really bring some emotion to the plays.
Oh man what a treat it would be to go to Hiroshima and play. I love about 4 hours away... I’m sure it’s possible with the right connections. Thank you for your comment and support! :-)
Wow thanks so much man so beautiful!!!! I couldn't find any sheet music I just know that Cornelius boots worked or helped out on the game and on his site he mentions nature pieces and Buddhist chants I was guessing it might be that Was also thinking about sending you the videos from the game cause most of them don't seem to complex But I see you got the game yourself Hope your enjoying it, I really like it alot!! I am a beginner in shakuhachi and I dont know how to read sheet music yet. so far I've used it more as meditation by trying to make the ro sound hence focusing on the breath Would be cool if you could do a easy tutorial on showing the fingering on some of the shorter pieces Thanks again and looking forward to further videos
Please do send me the video from the games. That would be helpful instead of hunting down crickets! I am so glad you enjoy the playing. Maybe I will make a few tutorial videos. :-)
I read the info box AFTER seeing the video (a 300 y.o. still working wind instrument? I'm listening to it before I can be bothered to read) and I was puzzled because, while beautiful, it sounded a lot like Morricone's scores for Leone. Which wouldn't do for an traditional piece, but is quite understandable if the piece is modern.
@@Hyp3RZツ Super cool track! It will take me awhile to write that out. But I will see what I can do. I have some more fire emblem pieces that I want to play but I can get started.
From the makers in japan I have shown this too they said anywhere from 150 to 300 but it’s hard to tell. But they said the repair style is Meiji. But unless we carbon date we won’t know for sure. Thanks for the comment
@@TairyuShakuhachi I make and play the shakuhachi in the style of the Edo period. Is your shakuhachi "jinashi-nobe"? I think it's a traditional tuning. Even so, the tone is good and it is a wonderful performance.
@@bamboo108 Yes I am familar with your work. Very nice sounding shakuhachi indeed! You made a 1.8 jinashi that had a wonderful sound that I was very fond of recently! This shakuhachi is nobekan, and it is in the traditional tuning. I am adjusting the notes with meri and kari to play "in tune." With this flute, I am guessing that it has been changed over time. Most notably the bindings which, I have been told are in the Meiji style. And secondly, the lacquer on the inside is a later addition, my guess is either taisho or showa. I am leaning towards Showa just based on what information I was given. So in conclusion, I had an old flute from some point in edo that was repaired in meiji and had lacquer (urushi, not ji) during showa. But thank you for the insight! I live in Japan actually in Kansai, if you are close by I can show you the flute and maybe get another opinion! with warmest regards, SRH

The air inside the Shakuhachi is meeting 300 years of history. 😍
The one dislike is from the original owner wanting his Shakuhachi back lol
That would explain all the lights flickering recently.
We are facing a true master, each blow on his flute exudes art and beauty.
I’m so honored to get a comment like this. Thank you!!
This would of been a cool video game for us to play together! This music is sweet.
yeah it totally would have been...
