The Yamaha R15 V5, set to launch in the second half of 2024, is an eagerly awaited upgrade to the popular R15 series. It retains the 155cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine from its predecessor, delivering 18.4 PS of power at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. This model also features Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) for consistent torque and better performance across the rev range .
Significant updates include a new color TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity via the Y-Connect App, providing readouts like speed, tachometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level, and gear position. Safety features are also enhanced with a dual-channel ABS, traction control system, and a quick-shifter as standard .
The chassis remains a Deltabox frame, providing rigidity and stability, complemented by upside-down telescopic forks at the front and a swingarm-linked mono-cross suspension at the rear. The braking system includes a 282 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc .
Priced around aprox Rs 1.94 lakh for the standard model and Rs 1.98 lakh for the MotoGP edition, the R15 V5 offers a blend of performance, style, and advanced features, maintaining its position as a top choice in the entry-level sports bike segment
