The Law&Crime Network's Angenette Levy is joined by Doug Bishop and Nick Rinn, founders of "Adventures With Purpose", who found Kiely Rodni's vehicle over the weekend. The 16-year-old went missing on August 6 after a party at a campground near Truckee, California. Sheriff’s deputies apparently searched a lake nearby where Kiely’s phone last pinged and didn’t find her. Bishop and Rinn asked to help and found Kiely’s SUV in less than an hour in the same spot that had been searched before.

And as an apology after having two horrible “therapists” they ignored his refund inquiry and sent him a water bottle in the mail.
I’ve watched dozens of AWP’s search videos and it is pretty incredible that they’re able to find so many submerged cars where law enforcement has failed or not even thought to look.
AWP should be funded by tax dollars and a team trained in every state.
@@jerbwood THAT is a great idea
Many LE depts. spend all their money on guns, humvees and other excess military surplus. That Sheriffs Dept. does not even have sonar for water searches. Taxpayers should not have to rely on volunteers to conduct proper searches. IMO

I agree that AWP's skills of reading the sonar is so much better because they do it so much but with a little training Law enforcement could do the same or at least notice something odd in the water to raise a brow.
It should be shameful and humiliating for federal funded authorities to be proven incompetent and outperformed by a team of volunteers doing what they love. It's shocking that 18 different agencies spent a total of 19000 man hours searching and failed to find a clue! A big bravo for the search team who found her in 1 hour
First place that law enforcement should have looked.
The story is about bringing Kiely home. Placer county law knew AwP has the specific skill set and equipment for the job.
The feds have no shame in their game, and I doubt the family points any blame at them. There's always room to learn
Great job, and God bless The AwP crew!
Agree they should be training all others how to do this work
And the car was right where the ping from her phone said she was.
I’m just thankful these well trained volunteers showed up and found Kiely. They do this every day. They truly are the experts. LE should be giving them a big hand for their efforts, expertise and their always respectful conduct.

Well, this time the families might get a few more answers than usual. After two weeks there might actually be a body instead of skeletal remains. They might be able to run bloodwork and get more than blood type and a DNA sample
@Maury Fudgelich OH OK so if your loved one was missing & never found, you wouldn't have heartache the rest of your life in grief, wondering what happened??? Don’t ask guys like this how they felt. They both almost started to tear up. These guys are pretty emotional. Most people in this line of work lose their emotions after seeing so many screwed up things
It’s like asking a veteran “did you kill anybody”
I agree. People feel they have a right to any information about people that they desire, to the level that the news media now perpetuates this uncouth and inappropriate behavior.
This. My dad was a firefighter. One day, he picked me up late from school because he responded to a fatal car crash - was literally first on scene. He held a woman’s head still and spoke to her as she passed from her injuries. I asked him how he felt. He snapped “don’t ever ask me that again. If I think about it too much, I can’t do my job.” And I never did ask him again. There is a level of compartmentalization that first responders, rescuers, and recovery experts must do in order to do this emotionally hard work.

@@LAL522 My dad was too. I never asked him that question, but he died when I was 14, so maybe that's why we never had those conversations. I have a nephew who's an EMT. @@LindaC616 I’m so sorry you lost your dad at such a young age. I was probably 16 when this conversation happened. I should have known better. He was a fire chief at an international airport and I had listened my entire life to stories of the three plane crashes he responded to as well as the response to the Beverly Hills Supper Club Fire (worst fire in KY history). I knew how matter of fact he spoke about those things and should have realized why he was like that and that I should not have asked. Thankfully, mental health care is now a much bigger part of the first responder experience than it was during his life/career. And it’s something AWP has discussed in their livestreams, which I am always so glad to hear.

Agree if you look at all the internet clips that came out of this story, the phone ping was a few feet from the edge, and more in the water, that can only mean two things, when the car hit the water it floated for a bit to where it was able to send a ping before it sank, or someone threw the phone from the edge and right before it hit the water it sent a ping, typical police probably thought this was an abduction case and came to the conclusion who ever took her discarded the phone in the lake,
AWP is essentially using a state of the art fish finder system. It outperformed what law enforcement agencies had and the fact that they found the target in 35 minutes vs. LEOs floundering for 19,000 man hours over two weeks says something.
Yes, Side, Down and Live scan systems were originally (kind of) designed for anglers...they also were designed for recovery. Law enforcement in our area used Side Scan when it first came out to find submerged bodies of anglers who had fallen in and drown. Don't knock this equipment as "fish finders"....it's not that simple. They were designed to do much more. However, the professional angling community was the best demographic to target for development and sales.
I know, crazy eh
Were they just poking at the bottom of the lake with a stick, maybe?
@@ColoursEverywher hahaha really though!
@@ColoursEverywher No. Many agencies have the same equipment...or at least one of the same systems. They may have Side, Down or Live...as in 1 (maybe 2) of the three. Many people contacted AwP as well as Exploring With Nug, since both have experience with locating vehicles in water.
When a vehicle enters a body of water, one has less than ten seconds to exit it, unless they have a specialised tool that can break windows, cut jammed safety belts etc.

I am grateful, as well, that law enforcement was welcoming to AWP because these guys are really amazing at what they do and they truly help so many families. With that said, LE does not have to “allow” them to search, they can search any time or anywhere they choose, unless it’s a restricted area they cannot enter. In this sad tragedy, the areas were not closed, therefore, they could have searched no matter what. If you watch some of their other videos on their YT channel, families/friends request their service and LE was not necessarily on board with it but, they still searched because it was not any restricted areas. It definitely makes things easier for AWP, families and LE if everyone is on the same page but, AWP always does what is best for the families.

AWP better recieve that reward fund in FULL they deserve it as it will go into finding other loved ones as well !
AWP don't usually accept rewards, instead they ask for it to be given to the families of the missing person.
Right?? But if they don't accept reward money perhaps they should be given the OT pay of ALL the agencies that were involved!
They do accept funds if it was given - they won’t Ask - it’s well rewarded … it should go right to them no strings attached… they brought K home to rest in minutes otherwise she would’ve still been in the water that was so delicately “searched” tell me they don’t deserve this fund !? They will be using it all to get another boat and sonar to expand their searches
I’m sorry but these were not government people here- they literally did this out of their heart…. The LE and crap all get paid to do their job and failed miserably it’s so embarrassing 😳
AWP have brought so many loved ones home, yet they remain so humble, respectful and purpose driven. I’m so glad they found Kiely and now more awareness has spread of just how special all of these guys are. ❤️
I have watched most of their searches and they show nothing but compassion and integrity 100% of the time. They are a group of undeniably the most devoted people I have ever seen. Use social media for the best reason possible ! It is unbelievable how they are able to accurately identify and distinguish a vehicle on sonar. It is a true talent. The teamwork, coordination, and respect for each other's role is immeasurable. They should honestly be nominated for humanitarian awards. I cannot even explain the finesse they convey for each and every family and loved one on every search...
What a shame that all that time and money spent and cops say they searched where she was found? Sad
They just sat back and let the kids run the show... it's embarrassing and their parents should be embarrassed too because they let their kids be raised by social media
Thank you adventure w a purpose for bringing closure to this family tragedy
I love these men - they have solved so many cold case files,.
It’s so weird not having Jared make the announcements and press interviews but I know he’s busy behind the scenes. These guys are absolute angels. I’ve been following them for years online and knew they would find her. I really hope that with all this recent publicity more small town police depts will see them and ask for help or be more welcoming when they do come in. Not all depts appreciate them but it’s gotten better as they’ve grown. I’m not excited, to see their video when it comes out on this case, but I’m looking forward to it. I can’t explain it not excited happy I just know that their editors are amazing storytellers. They have a talent of showing these stories, talking about these missing people and recovering them but they are so respectful and do so well to honor those lost. You can just tell they are legit snd not just doing this for the cameras or money or whatever. This is clearly their purpose.
For me, I am glad Jared was not the one doing this. Unless his personal focus has changed, he would have taken 100% of the attention.
I wish they could have found little Allie. ( the little 8 year old who drowned with her sister and a friend) can't remember the state. ( maybe New Orleans)
@@starsrgood Jared seems to inject the "Paddy Mayo " drama and run with it. Doug is a watered down version with a large ego.
@@Hanzyscure sounds like jealousy to me. Always a hater in the group.
To each their own. I think jared and doug work great as a team bc they do have different ways of handling the emotions and cases. Jared was making videos for years so of course he still operates on video production stuff, doug was a tow truck driver, he was never into youtube until this. Its been nice seeing him grow on camera tho and his personality really come out. I think they are so successful bc they compliment each other. No need to shame anyone. You might not like him but hes still doing an amazing service to people and you have to give him credit for that.
These guys are absolutely wonderful!! I can not say enough about them. I remember when I 1st saw this case break the news and when they could not find her I was quick to email them to see if they could be of some assistance. They are so good about answering as many people as they can and I was thankful to hear this family was going to get the help they needed. Prayers all the way around RIP Kiely.👼
Deepest condolences to Kiely's family and friends. Thanks for the search team 👍
So glad they were able to find Kiley, but so sad at the same time. I'm hoping when the autopsy comes back the family will get some answers. Thank you AWP for help with finding her. You guys are awesome.
These guys are heros and bring closure to loved ones whose missing family member (s) haven't been found. Adventures With Purpose find submerged vehicles very quickly too.
These guys. Absolute angels. Sent direct from the heavens.
I would like a guy like this , very lucky.
The patience, the empathy and the truest sense of people. Love them.
RIP KIELY RODNI 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
Shows just how useless our government is... A RUclips crew found her less than how many hours of them searching ? Less than what the sheriff's
It irks me that law enforcement already searched the body of water she was found in, yet told AWP nothing was there? Proves they have absolutely no experience.
These guys are awesome. Love watching them dive. And so glad to see them get media recognition- they work so hard to help the families. They solved so many missing persons cases. And they deserve the accolades and kudos they recieve.
WOW. These guys are incredible. Give them the REWARD! They need this money to help keep doing what they are doing!
I hope in the future, police departments and sheriffs can contract the team when submerged vehicles are suspected.
They are based in Oregon and this is not their primary job. They depend on donations and money from views to fund the operation.
Law enforcement wants free training from them. These guys will be taken advantage of by law enforcement. But they do it to help families. The more training law enforcement has concerning the issue the better. But don't expect law enforcement to help these guys. That's not what law enforcement does. They enforce the law.
Adventures with purpose are not a beauracracy see how quick you get results when there's no red tape and higher ups
@@leahflower9924 funny, those guys are more capable in that field than any law enforcement agency in America. Take your authoritarian views somewhere else with that crap.
@@drmayeda1930 this is not their primary job ?????? what is ???
Angels don't always have wings, sometimes they have scuba gear, god bless AWP for bringing Kiely home to her family 🙏🏼
Amen 🙏🏾
Real America that search team. Thinking of the young girl and her family and going to those lengths to bring them peace. Thank you, you are the best!
Great job guys. It is a sad outcome but at least her family will give her a proper burial. It could have been an accident since she was drinking. I hope the LE can answers those questions to her parents, extended family members and to the public.
I’ve watched AWP for for a while and these guys are amazing! They have helped so many families get answers in the short while that they’ve been doing underwater searches. Doug is so good hearted and kind. These guys are true heroes!
So sad. Rip Kiely. 🙏🏻
I love Adventures with Purpose!! They are completely amazing!! Let's be real these police stations don't but should have the equipment these guys have!! Prayers 🙏 for the family! Also for all the other families that have been helped by these guys!!
Man, as someone who lives in nor cal, in placer county and has a little sister just a few years older than this poor girl, my heart hurts for her and her family. Just hits way to close to him, may she Rest In Peace
Proud of you boys. I salute you, keep up the good work.
I love you guys so much! I took a break for a while for my own mental break from watching these. Watching the families and the emotions you all go through took a toll on my heart. I could not imagine how much it takes out of you to do this every day. I know that the families absolutely feel that you are a blessing. I hope you always get what you need and get the support you deserve. I was shocked to see you on another forum called Popcorned Planet that I watch daily, and you all have made it all around the world and back again. May God watch over you and your families while you bless the world with your gifts.
I’ve seen videos of them recovering other peoples cars that were missing. It’s always such a raw, bittersweet feeling. Sadly, a lot of police forces don’t look in places family suspect them to be in, and that’s usually where they are(doesn’t seem to be the case here) People who have been lost for YEARS are found in less than an day all because someone just took the time to look in the right spot
These guys are so humble. First class humans. Please take care of your self as well AWP. Thank you for what you do.
You guys are so wonderful for taking your time to find missing people. I feel so bad when the weather is cold and the water is freezing!
Thank you for what you do. I'm sure it can't always be pleasant when there are remains.
I miss Jared. I hope he's doing good.
Incredible work. I’m sure her family is so grateful for your assistance and hard work. And so are the rest of us who were so worried about Kiely, it’s good to have a resolution even if it’s so sad.
I only heard about them through Kielys case and their videos on RUclips are really amazing to watch. Takes a special type of person with strong character to enter those waters and come up on a vehicle containing bodies of people that have been missing. Its chilling and very emotional seeing them pull the cars out of the water for the first time.
Welcome to the AWP family and thank you for your kind words about these guys
Not only that, you can tell they are kind and compassionate people. You can hear the emotion in their voice when dealing with family members. Truly impressive people.
Adventures w/ a Purpose are amazing ppl! Thank you for helping this Family🥺❤️. My Condolences to the Family 🙏🏽❤️. RIP Babygirl 🥺💜
Some people use the internet to make money with only fans and Instagram, others do things like this and help give families answers and closure! It is a proud and noble organization you guys at Adventures with Purpose, have perfected! Respect!
It begs the question as to how law enforcement can’t locate those that are missing, literally right under their noses, in this case 14ft of water 55 ft out from where she went in and AWP can locate in under an hour. Are they not seriously searching to the best of their ability? AWP has solved 23 cold cases so far that law enforcement, over the years, could not solve. Great work AWP! Big fan…
Normally when a car goes in a lake it doesn’t get very far because the water stops the cars momentum pretty quickly, she had to be going super fast to get that far out. They probably just thought it wasn’t possible for her to be that far out.
If you watch their videos, every time they show a vehicle on sonar it doesn’t even look like a vehicle to me. They are so experienced they can immediately tell what it is on sonar.
@@biguncle554 not true.
If you watch their videos they admit that with time and experience they've learned techniques and skills that have enabled them to become the experts they are.
One solved case, they went back 3 times until they finally found the car they were looking for.
@@rainy2090 wasn't that the missing retired mayor? I was watching that clip they scanned the lake 2 or 3 times and a cell ping kept telling Jared to go back. When he went back he finally found the former mayor's car and Jared took it hard because he told the man's family eye to eye that the lake was cleared after numerous checks.
What a great group Adventures with Purpose is! Love and respect for them. I am so thankful they came to look so quickly.
I'm amazed that these private companies have more experience, technology, and will to out do law enforcement

I have watched Adventures with a Purpose since they started their You tube channel. They have grown and added so much gear to help them in their purpose. I hope all the law enforcement who turned them away and treated them poorly, see what they are doing. God bless you Adventures with a purpose! Keep up God’s work.
Blows my mind how quickly they found this poor girl
The fact police couldn't find her but volunteers did in no time is just sad praying for the healing of her family and rest in peace to such a beautiful life lost too soon 🙏😔
Law enforcement already searched the body of water where she was found and told AWP there was nothing there. AWP searched there anyways. They don't leave a single stone unturned.
This was the best video about finding Kiely I've seen. Thank you.
Blessings to you for the work you do to help families with closure in a painful situation. Praying for these guys, they need counseling as well with each find, and being away from their families for long periods.🙏🏼
God Bless the volunteer group. Condolences to the family 🙏
My positive thoughts go out to these wonderful men. Their services are emotional and overwhelming to think about but answers are priceless. My condolences go out to the family. Rest in peace 🕊 🕊 🕊 sweet angel
AWP, classy and well spoken as always. I've watched them for a while and it still amazes me how they have brought so many people home to their loved ones. I will never understand how often times, LE either searches and doesn't find anything, or they refuse to look. Not having the equipment is not an excuse. We can afford it. This happens often enough that it is time each state puts together a team or two specifically for underwater searches with the proper equipment. I know sometimes they do the best with the resources they are provided, like in this case, but I've seen LE straight up decline their assistant or lie. I think they feel embarrassed that a group of youtubers is trying to do their job for them instead of focusing on what is important - bringing the deceased home and bringing closure to their loved ones.
Thank you for bringing this sweet girl home so she can rest in peace. I know it cannot be easy to do this job. Her family finally has the answers they needed so they can start the healing process. I can't imagine how scared Kiely must have been.... That is a horrible way to go. 💔
Super appreciate these people and you have a nice way of interviewing.
AWP is definitely on top of their sonar skills. I watching their videos I learned it the optimal speed is somewhere around 2 mph And for years I have watched my local fire department dive search boat go much faster.
It seems like most law enforcement agencies do the bare minimum they should all have this equipment and they should all have extensive training ...why have a dive team if they're useless?
It’s the system and routine that AWP uses that makes all the difference. Their equipment and the way they approach the search is what makes them heroes.
@@June-tb4vi AWP said they do have that equipment.
I hope they get the reward money so it can go towards expanding their team, equipment, and training others. They are humble and deserve the recognition they are getting. So sorry for this tragic ending, heartbreaking.
They dont take money
They make plenty of money off of the 20 mi views per month. They’re making well over 100k a month from RUclips
@@LEA-yr7bb Jared Leisek started the movement. Jared Leisek, Adventures With Purpose.
Leisek said rewards and donations are how his group funds their searchers and allows them to purchase new gear.

"I'm sure they will know in their hearts what the right thing here is to do in knowing the efforts our organization put in, not only in bringing answers to your community but also in continuing our efforts throughout other communities across the nation to help other families."
@@11chewee11 I’m aware of who Jared is. I’ve watched many of their videos last year and some this year. Yes I’ve heard Jared say Rewards and donations are how they fund their searches and i eye roll every time. I just want to say thank you for all of the families that you help, and the closure that you're able to give them.
AWP are angels and an amazing group of men whom VOLUNTEER their time to help family. It's so disappointing that so many law enforcement agencies have treated them badly and get mad when they try to help and don't like when they're there. It boils down to they don't want to be embarrassed or have anyone think that someone can do their job better than they can. Thank you AWP for another person you brought home. Over 20 in 2 years is more than what anyone else could have done. ♡♡♡
I've been subscribed to AWP for years and have watched ALL of their videos. I truly commend them on their dedication and hard work; ESPECIALLY how empathetic and sympathetic they are towards family members.
Thank you for such a good and professional interview.
