For the bows, take a length of appropriately colored sewing thread and dab a tiny bit of super glue to and end of the bow then stretch the thread not too much and glue it to the other end of the bow, using scissors or nail clippers to trim the thread ends if there is extra. I did this with green thread for my dcuc Green Arrow bow and it looks great drawing the bow with an arrow :)
All you need is a red COBRA insignia on the white one and you'll have yourself a straight up Storm Shadow. A brown or grey Ninja would also work. Those are very cool nonetheless. I like when Retro Blasting mixes it up and reviews relevant modern toy lines. It elaborates on the differences between vintage and modern.
I am glad that other companies are making their own super articulated figures with tons of accessories and display stands. Imagine if they acquired actual 80's licensed properties to make figures we never got, like the A-Team, Michael Knight, etc.
The other cool ninja we never got and should have was the ninja from Batman, the Animated Series. I can’t believe they didn’t make that figure. I heard there is a gentleman out there making a custom??
Been watching your channel for a few years now - your Thunder Cats review got me hooked! Glad to see you’re back doing reviews again - keep them coming!
Great vid! I have a few of these myself, glad you like them. About the bow, while it doesn’t come with a string you can add one as others have stated, but also if you look the arrow can be positioned in between one of the sets of hands and placed in a ready to fire position. It doesn’t just have to sit in the quiver.
Nice review. I enjoyed you talking about those ninjas. It would have been nice to see more photos of different poses or the other products you mentioned... maybe in the background like a picture-in-picture. Really enjoy your videos. Keep blasting.
Michael, I LOVE that you've included "Ninja Gaiden's" Ryu Hayabusa when discussing the iconic ninja characters from our childhoods! You nailed his arcade 'stalking' pose, well done! :)
Great video! I just found your channel and man quality video!! I just started a channel myself and you inspired me to show and talk about some of the vintage toys that I have. Thanks again and I subscribed!!!
I didnt know tbe hands came off so easy. That really sucks. Regardless if you arent playing withem, they should be made better so they dont fall off that easy.
Was hoping you would have the other ninja toys like remco secret of the ninjasl, storm shadow and snake eyes and jix of gijoe, super ninja and his ninjas of chuck norris and karate kommandos, ninjor of he-man toys and white and black dragon of rambo and the force of freedom in that segment.
I SO wish The Fwoosh would do another line of these and give us a proper Sho Kosugi OR an 80's weapons pack like you say with the straight blade shorter sword! ...Speaking of which, did you ever show your SK Ninjato on the channel Michael?? Would LOVE to see it! Be great to see you do a review of it!!
I believe the bow has no string as a legal / safety precaution. That's why Bow's bow from MOTUC had no string. But it's probably possible to fashion one of your own I'd imagine.
I don't say this often.. Where were these when I was 10?! They would have saved a few Storm Shadows from the "custom" Testors paints treatments I made back then.
timely review since i just got a set of these when Fwoosh had their Labor Day sale. i got a couple of the red ninjas to use as Marvel Legends Hand ninjas. had to get a white one for Storm Shadow and the 'modern' one for Snake Eyes. also got the accessory pack. these would be perfect if we got a Sho Kosugi head to put on the black one.
They are beautiful Ninja figures and I've been a fan of Pure Ninjas from the 80s Craze an on but at 50 bucks or more it's hard to see myself buying a bunch of these figures. I would like to see you do an 80s review of Ninja Magazine from back in the day. If you loved Ninjas back then they you had to of gotten a magazine or two. Also a best Ninja figures of the 80s is in order eventually.
An Important differance Micheal actually is kid of pointing out: 80s Ninja is not the same as a historical Ninja I am actually impressed, that if I am Comparing Micheals Ninja Fandom to the One of Gaijin Goomba - one can see the difference between a love for the 80s Ninja and the love for the Historical Ninja... But I would immagine that Micheal would love the Historical ninjas as much as the 80s ones... I would Recomand Gaijin Goombas Which Ninja series... but I am not shure it would meet Micheals tastes. I find Goomba to be a great source for this kind of stuff though... And wow... these Figures Really speak to me from a General cool Action figures Standpoint...
Fun fact: In the movie Dead or Alive, the actor who played Ryu Hayabusa is Sho Kosugi son Kane Kosugi.
I love those roof displays. I want something like that in a 3D printable file.
Enter ninja was one my favorite movie

What the world needs now is ninja sweet ninja
Knowing is half the battle. The other half of the battle is ninjas.
Another black ninja with the Oni mask painted gold would complete the Revenge of the Ninja collection!
I am so glad to have found Retroblasting. It provides a good mix of memory lane and education and definitely entertainment.

You should get somebody to do a mural or a matt painting in scale with those roof display stands on a small piece of your wall somewhere.
What about a camouflage ninja, in honor of Richard Harrison in those Godfrey Ho ninja films?
What?! No Gray Ninja from Ninja 3:The Domination!! These are great!
Fwoosh are coming out with a Grey, Green and purple soon and Reissuing the older line
So I was not the only kid who wanted a Sho Kosugi action figure growing up in the early 80's.
Needs more Rikimaru
These look better in person.
my new favorite saying: we are gonna 80's it up!
Retroblasting saves the day again, great video pal!

Talking of accessories I always think of grappling hooks whenever I think of ninjas (which I do way more often then is probably healthy :-). )
Great video as usual keep up the awesome work
You chose an excellent pose for your Ryu Hayabusa; a distinctly classic edge.
Anyone have an estimate on the size/scale of these? Around 1/12th or bigger? I don't see any info on their site.
6 inches tall.
Yeah I don't get why reviewers dont mention scale most of the time. Directly effects if I'm gonna purchase a figure.
You could get those water-float "tattoos" from eBay to put the Arashikage symbol on them.
Great video! I just found your channel and man quality video!! I just started a channel myself and you inspired me to show and talk about some of the vintage toys that I have. Thanks again and I subscribed!!!

Cut a small notch in each the end of the bow and use thin fishing line to string the bow.
Great video as always. Love ninjas!!! Don’t care what size. Excellent review.

"Supply and demand"? Nice, honest (as ever) review.
I'm still waiting for those that do "Ninja Rap"

If they have a snake eyes he needs an uzi cause he’s an American ninja
Lol love your videos retoblasting
The have a Modern Ninja called Solitaire. He does come with a revolver and a commando snake eyes looking head.
He was a Commando before he was a ninja. The only thing tougher then a ninja is a ninja that goes commando.
Isn't Snake Eyes Jewish? ;)
@@Track_Tension HA! I got it.
Maybe use a ninja turle weapons rack for the weapons to display. Or checkout Budget Jedi's channel for mini diorama displays.
I believe the other video you did was of the soul of chogokin Voltron, that's my guess.
Great vid, Snake eyes is my favorite ninja.
You ever see Mirai Ninja, aka Cyber Ninja?
An Important differance Micheal actually is kid of pointing out: 80s Ninja is not the same as a historical Ninja

what no snake eyes, storm shadow an snake eyes are a package deal ,you can't have one with out the other : )
There is no snake eyes in this line.
"Economies of Scale" :)
Do they have Kung Fu grip?
Ninjitsu grip!
Ningas. Love em.
Bow and arrow? It would be better if they came with Bo and Luke....
Womp womp.
My Facebook cover photo is Revenge of the Ninja
I only buy certain pieces because Micheal is honest and thorough with his reviews. Vintage and Modern. Very cool review, Micheal! Salute!
To bad they don't scale with modern era Joe's.
How much$$
Where did you get them.?
I’m not really sure if this is your thing, but do you have any plans to talk about captain N?
It’s not letting me edit for some reason, but Great Video as Always!
A little bit to ketchup and those extra heads become nice prop pieces. Ninja Carnage!
actually get some wax paper, a hot glue and red Citadel paint and you can make some effective blood splatters.
they are too expensive, have cheap loose joints also. I have owned 4 of them...
Thats an easy fix. Pledge Floor Care or clear nail polish on the joints
Easy fix is make them better in the first place. For the price you shouldn't have to fix the joints after you buy them.
