It's not, I haven't listened to a lot of Linkin Park for about 10 years. But I still come back to this song often.
In fact as someone who isn't a die hard fan of the band, I gotta say I may be in the minority, because I like Minutes to Midnight more than Hybrid Theory and Meteora.

This song was relevant for as long as humans existed.
It's weird how in general this album is less heavy than its 2 predecessors, but 2 specific songs (this and Given Up) are some of the heaviest songs they've ever made, beaten only by By Myself.

Nothing has hurt me more than losing Chester. Over a year later and I'm still incredibly depressed about Chester. I might need to go see a therapist, I'm still that upset and broken.

If you know anything about Chester, his past, and what he was fighting for, you would realize this song is about his life and the life we all share. Chester was awake and more wise. My interpretation of the lyrics to this song is that he is talking about the hypocritical elite vs the people of earth. Rules for thee but not for me. RIP to a legend, your message is loud and clear Chester!

I know this is a political song but whenever I listen to this song, I always interpret this song as being put down, ignored betrayed for too long (Bullies and fake friends) and the chorus makes me feel like i`m striking back and taking control of my own life and standing up for myself.
