I'm so glad to know it was repaired and looks mint again. Chris is giving so much to the collector community every week that's why we'll want him to enjoy this hobby without bad experiences.
It was awesome to have a chance to see this Chris because while I haven't had a break like this one I've had a few in the past and it's always great to see how someone who really knows what they're doing repairs it. Plus I'm very glad for you that you were able to get this magnificent statue repaired in a way that allows you to display it without any concerns...It's certainly one of the favorites of my collection..
Incredible work Eric. Really love your attention to detail in ever aspect of the repair. Is really nice to have this type of talent in the community!!!
This is absolutely incredible to watch this repair process and the artist care. Amazing job Eric - simply awesome to watch you work - a true artisan🤘🏼🦇👊🏼!
Above and beyond words for this amazing talent u have Eric keep it up looking like brand new again enjoy it Chris cause it a sweet piece u add to your collection.
Awesome, super informative video! I was wondering, could you recommend a paint brand or type to use to cover up a chip? I don't have access to an air brush unfortunately. Any advice at all is appreciated!
Thanks..I like using Vallejo or Tamiya. But you can even get away with using cheap acrylic craft paint from Michaels or Hobby Lobby.. it'll just take more layers and not give as good of coverage. The more expensive paint is more opaque and has higher pigments. Hope that helps.
Thanks. It's my paint thinner. Homemade concoction of water, IPA, and glycol. I may do a video in the future covering paint thinning. Any acrylic ink will do.. this one is Liquitex.
I apologize in advance, but I fought the temptation to say this: "INSTEAD I WILL SIMPLY BREAK YOU." 😂😅 Love the repair videos. I've been studying them because as I get more and more into statue collecting, I want to learn to repair and paint them. Couple of questions for you. How did you align the bottom part of the leg with the top half? Not sure, but looks like you drilled a wider hole in the upper leg, so you had a little wiggle room to work with. And how do you color match a particular color? Do you eyeball it, or is there a technique to it? Thanks
Thanks for the question. The boot had a small gap between the leg where it broke but not all the way around. I was able to get an idea of where it needed to go. Also right after gluing the boot back on, I stood the statue up on the base to make sure everything aligned with the foot placement on the base. The boot/leg was dry fit as a test run before gluing. And yes I always drill a little wider than the rod.. when using epoxy paste, because it's so thick it needs a little air flow otherwise a vacuum is created when pushing the two parts together. The epoxy will then fill the extra space around the metal rod. It also allows for more surface adhesion. As for color matching. There's really no tricks. It's something I have an eye for. I've only been painting statues for a few years but have a lifetime experience painting, drawing, designing, etc..with a background in art. But running different sample tests and blending will help. Hope that helps!
@@itsallthingsart Thanks for your reply! That's reassuring. Please consider doing an updated statue room tour video of your collection! So much has changed in your amazing set up since the last one!
Tough decision as I really do like that statue. I've always liked the Detective 1000 Batman and once it started shipping and I found out the dimensions weren't as bad as what was listed on the website.. I purchased that one as my main Batman centerpiece. So in the end it came down to space, which Batman I liked better, and not wanting too many of the same character in the collection.
That was Amazing, well Done, Question: how do I get in touch with you, I bought a Prime 1 Dark Knight Returns body off of EBay and I like the body/ suit to be a darker grey color, please let me know how to get in touch with you, thanks, J. B.
Thanks, would love to work on that. My info is in the video description. I respond quickest on Facebook/Instagram (ItsAllThingsArt) or you can email ItsAllThingsArt@Gmail.com
Casting issue on this one. Looks like an air bubble was trapped in the mold. They definitely did go lighter on this statue but overall their statues are very solid. 👍

Thanks Slash! Anytime 👍
Awesome work
Thanks George 👍
Perfection! I hope I never have any major breaking of my statues, but if I do I’m contacting you first thing!
Thanks Dylan. Yes hopefully not 😎
This is mega impressive! Repair Master! Question though, what would you recommend for a break where a part of the piece is missing?
Thanks DB. I would have to either hand sculpt a new piece for anything missing. Or sometimes I can 3D print a new part.. depending on what it is.

Great work. Eric where did you get the Zack Snyder Justice League Hoodie from? Looks awesome!
Thanks. It was from about two years ago from his Kickstarter campaign to raise money for suicide awareness after the incident with his daughter.
Amazing!! What is the liquid you mix with the ink wash ? and what type of ink do you use ? thanks

@@itsallthingsart Thanks for all the good info.
Amazing video!!! Do you think that all of the Batman Daned statues have this casting problem or was it an one-off situation? Now I worry about mine!
Thanks. Hopefully not. This was the first and only one I've seen have this or any issue. I think it'll be ok 👍
