Will you kindly acknowledge the fact that Princess Diana and Dodi al-Fayed (pronounced "F"eye"..ed") died in 1997, not 1977 as stated by your commentator. A number of people on this page have pointed out this fact, but you haven't even had the courtesy to acknowledge the fact.
Before immigrating to Australia just after my 17th birthday I was privileged to work at Harrods over Christmas in their toy store driving a large train set. It was interesting but more importantly made me realize that I had a natural ability with electrical, mechanical things. Many years later in OZ I became a mobile service engineer servicing medial, research & diagnostic instruments around Asia Pacific for thirty plus years, an interesting job & a great way to see the world for free. 75yrs & retired now but still remember Harrods, my work starting point in life.
Chloe Gale I do understand slogan in Latin it says it a shop for all people at all prices right. I love to come promised dinner by Mr fayads Secretary at the time I wrote to him now under Qatari Royal family but maybe they will still allow it to be honoured after had my hip replacement I will please God go to Harrods after a long long time absent Bless Harrods and all the family Regards. Well actually i did my induction yesterday and today and two things are wrong. The most expensive thing sold was a horse head. The silver replica is kept at Harrods
I know I’m late but just curious. Have you heard of the Harrods Amex, I live credit cards and this one intrigued because I’ve never seen and you can nearly find it on the internet. It would be cool to know more.
I was in Harrod's last month and they've done away with the carrying of rucksack requirement. People were wearing them on their backs as they should be worn.
I've actually shop lifted in Harrods ,it was such a buzz , it was only three promotional pens and a bar of chocolate , but c'mon , it was in Harrods )))))
Went into Harrods with my dad a couple of years ago. £45 later, we walked out with a small box of chocolate which had 8 pieces of chocolate in it. I dream that one day I’ll be afford to shop there all the time
i have lived in London for 5 years and i used to go to Harrods to play chess in the basement area where toys where located !!! what a fun moments.... what days in London !!!!
Salaam, I have come to Harrods many times to have lunch and buy Chocolate truffles and I had written a POEM to Mr. Mohamed AL Fayad and about the loss of Diana and Sodium may Godbless their souls Ameen.xx Once I have had my hip operation hope to go to Harrods and have lunch again for the days visit god willing I am sure I will have a great day having High Afternoon Tea it will be a treat as it will be my birthday... The most interesting fact is that they opened a boutique in Buenos Aires (Argentina) that did well for many years before closing... opened in 1914 and clsoed in 1998.
When I was a child in 70's I used to go there at Christmas time to have a photo with the living Santa Clauss, and to choose my special gifts! The toy store in the top floor was the heaven for me...
@@dany3356 wow, I commented on this 3 years ago. Had already forgotten about it. Yes... I think it's really a shame they didn't mention it in the video, I trully am convinced it was the most interesting fact about it. You can go on for minutes explaining the geo-politics that made it possible and, even more, highly profitable. Anyways... I would have love to have seen it while it opperated in it's golden years, you truly are lucky!
I love Harrods , i have been two times 2006 , 2016 , both experiences was amazing. I wasn't over dressed just tidy i was surprised i got in to be honest .The gentlemen opened the door to my mum , me & my little boy who was still in his push chair. One of the first things i wanted to see was Dodi & Diana's statue & pictures ..So over whelming & heart breaking & comfort . Anyway bought two beautiful teddy bears for me & my son and we still cherish them forever. What i want to say is be true to yourself don't feel anyone is above you or your made to feel your looked down on by other people. Make your day your day, as your just as special and important as anyone else.😊PS: if you haven't tried a high tea ... then i recommend it to all who have sweet tooth ...yummy.👍😊😊😊 Enjoy the store even if you just go in for a plastic bag ..it's Amazing..I just wished i got the chance to meet Mr Al fayed.💙xxx
I have worked for Harrods when Mister Al Fayed was the owner! Now the shop it's open on sundays! Which for me it's too commercial with out the glamour in the past !😳🤑
It annoys me intensely that Harrods became a tourist Mecca. Years ago it was fun shopping there, and you literally could find anything you needed. You could do a proper grocery shop there, have your dry cleaning done and pick up a new shirt or pair of shoes. Now it's so luxury orientated only the incredibly wealthy actually shop there, but on the odd occasion one does visit with a specific purchase in mind you have to battle your way through vast crowds of camera phone wielding tourists. It's almost impossible to get something to eat or drink unless you have booked, you used to be able to just find a seat at the counters. If you do want to buy food you have to fight to the front of the displays and it's almost impossible to see what is on offer due to the sheer number of people who have come simply to look and maybe buy a Harrods branded tin of biscuits. Harrods know these people don't spend enough money to justify being there, but can't ban them for fear of being called elitist. So instead they focus all their attention on a small number of super rich shoppers, each known personally to staff, who between them spend hundreds of millions a year. This drives a vicious circle of increasingly expensive and extravagant goods on display, which further draws the camera wielding peasants.
I was in Harrods Christmas 2019 and I bought a musical pop up card of the snowman and it plays walking in the air also got a couple of chocolates I got myself lost in the store they need to have a map it’s so big
I brought a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti sneakers and they have been my favourite pair of shoes ever since - please can you do a video about Giuseppe zanotti at some point in the future, love the videos
I couldn't find a perfume I was looking for anywhere until I stumbled upon Harrods. To be honest, I knew nothing about the place and because I couldn't find it anywhere else, I took a risk and bought it there. Glad I found this video tho, pretty confident that it's legit for sure now 😁
16th thing you need to know: Harrod’s is the King’s PERSONAL store only for him (like his own closet of his house), so idk why people are inside of it, the harrods where where we are supposed to shop at is actually down the road. 17: if you don’t care of the 16th rule ride down the escalator (just one) to have (start(the right way)) that luxury shopping experience.
I was there in the 80ies, i think before Al Fayed bought the store and the Egyptian room was not there yet. I could not buy anything but i sure wanted to eat one of the big really expensive pralines. I love the tiles in the fish department.
Harrods also lost the royal warrant from the Queen..Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Charles...this means they no longer shop here or are supplied by them.
I kept getting distracted by the mispronunciation of ‘facade’. I think it’s hilarious that you guys never thought to check before posting these videos. The script readers regularly misread their dialogue in these videos. You guys do know that most wealthy people can afford an education, right?
What happened to the previous speaker 😒 ?? This one mispronounces a lot. And yes 1997...not 1977. Al- (Fah-yet) not fayed. 😅 man this was hard to listen to. 😐 ouch.
@@camshannon7952 You MUST be joking. Time to bone up on history AND word pronunciation. This pitiful and VERY nasal narrator is irritating at best. Not worth watching.
Honestly, this young woman's jejune delivery takes away from this. She clearly was hired to read words and has no idea what she is reading. Harrods deserves better! No El Coward? Al Faid? 😣
I had to immediately stop watching this video at 11:17 . The mispronunciation of names , I thought that was bad enough....WRONG!!! The narrator stated the year for Princess Diana and Dodi's death being 1977!!! I can't deal with this channel any longer. please replace the narrator with someone who can properly pronounce simple words.

Alux.com no Dina diyed in 1997 not 1977
Dodi and Diana were killed in a car crash in 1997 not 1977
williammorgan97 yeh they got rid of her
I had to listen twice when the narrator said that to make sure she said 1977. Pretty big mistake.
williammorgan97 you'd think they would proof read stuff before releasing this video
@@patriciahernandez7484 exactly.
Diana died in 1977? Stuff like that added to the mispronunciation of words like facade and Al-Fayed, diminishes your credibility.
Doug Pettey I was thinking the same thing.
agreed. Not credible at all
Doug Pettey this woman is Wong and she dyed in 1997
I hate this women and she diyed in 1997
no...Aug 1997

I visited Harrods in 1995 as part of a QEII Transatlantic cruise tour. The store has exceptional quality and craftmanship.

I find your content interesting but PLEASE change the narrato, do some fact check, and pronunciation check. It's very uncomfortable and cringy to hear
Pretty much everything we already knew about Harrods then. The pronunciations and incorrect 'facts' were hilarious by the way.

Harrods is cool, but minimalism seems to be the enemy of Harrods. It is ridiculously crowded. Kinda overpriced too, but it's still worth checking out.
The dress code applies to everyone except me, I'm the only one who can walk around and enter the store in his boxers and I intend to keep it that way.
