Recently with unfathomable power of daimoku, I realized boundless potential in self, without worry and in high life state - I won over Covid. 7 patients in 4 households, 5 hospitalized, 4 senior or super senior citizens. No sickness can stand infront of NMRK. All one needs is steadfast faith and conviction. (India)
@Meenakshi Khanna, I contracted bacterial meningitis and covid in less than three years. I got severe blood clots both times and almost died, but I defeated both illnesses with daimoku, even when esophagitis made it almost impossible to speak. If you can only mouth it, the universe will still hear you if you keep your goal in focus and your determination strong! As Nichiren said in "Reply to Yasaburo", "The reason you have survived when so many have died is so that you would meet up with this moment...." I have a few members in my district from India who either started their practice with BSG or embraced the Gohonzon through SGI-USA after coming here to New Jersey. They have added so much to the organization here!

Please chant without thinking about negative things. The situation will be better. Now the situation changes when the situation is bad. The better you feel, the better your surroundings. If you don't like someone in front of you, don't react emotionally. I want you to change. I want you to grow. If you have difficulty chanting, I'm sure something will improve just by listening to this chanting.

Please study what was the intention of Nichiren Daishonin? and what has been handed down from the remote past till today in the core of Lotus Sutra? That is the issue. Piyusha Sinha you should instead make the Law the center of your life. SGI doesn’t worship the gohozon. It is the tool that we use to reveal our Buddha nature through chanting the Law of Cause & Effect. The gohozen has no power in itself. Do not worship the gohozen.

Have faith in the mystic law. Things start happening mysteriously and the transformation iz so subtle you don't even notice it but one fine day you get up and realise oh I have come so far. your honest self assessment mean hat you understand the value of this ritual, I read a piece in Zen Buddhism called the the great disenchantment (I cant remember the exact title) but it refers to the fact hat many of us me include has stopped or practice for various reasons, his often is the opportunity to reassess and ask more questions, I after returning after an approximate 3 year hiatus I am charged more than ever,..you may consider this period as a learning period that I am positive you will in the future learn to dearly appreciate as I now do…additionally once you embrace the teachings you never lose them..nmhrk

Dear SGI members, I was a member of Soka Gakkai for almost 70 years. My mentor is Toda sensei. The most important thing that Soka Gakkai changed is the core doctrine of Nichiren Daishonin called The Three Great Secret Laws. On November 8th 2014, Soka Gakkai deviated from it. This is a colossal mistake in the history of Buddhism. I went against this deviation which is serious slandering the law. But I had no power to change the organization so I left because I can't betray Nichiren Daishonin as my master, parents and teacher. The all TODA sensei's family left Soka Gakkai as well. My mentor Toda sensei said if this kind of deviation occur, Soka Gakkai must be disband. My saying is not personal at all but strictly matter of our faith to the true Buddhism based on The Three Great Secret Laws. As a result, without any hesitation, SGI today says Daimoku is the cause. Daimoku is the honzon. I see SGI has not accepted anymore the advent of Nichiren Daishonin that is the same as other heretical sects of "Nichiren Buddhism" Soka Gakkai SGI was supposed to be practicing ""Nichiren DAISHONIN Buddhism" Maybe today's members even don't understand the point of the issue I am talking. I will say NO to SGI. WHY has SGI changed as the organization which goes against the advent of Nichiren Daishonin? Daimoku is not the true cause but the true effect. Daimoku is one of the actual teachings from the Three great secret laws. What is the one great secret law? I am asking you. You members have kept avoiding your straight answer for several years. My criticism to SGI is not personal but strictly based on my faith for Nichiren Daishonin. One great secret law which is the Dai Gohonzon is the ultimate cause of Daimoku as its effect. You are confused because SGI has deviated from Nichiren Daishonin. Denying is not answer. If the organization has some issue with the temple, SGI could have kept the Dai Gohonzon as "内得信仰"(To keep the faith to Dai Gohonzon in our heart even physically don't see it. ) It was intended that way until the moment of Kosen Rufu of The Three Great Secret Laws. However, during the "campaign of Soka Renaissance" Soka Gakkai changed our "one and only object of worship" became no longer the object of our worship, and additionally, Soka Gakkai itself certifies gohonzon after that day became a new regulation. This is the very specific point I have been telling to all my friends in SGI with all documented proofs from Gosho and Lotus Sutra. No matter how Soka Gakkai has built up cheap logic as an excuse to not accept the advent of Nichiren Daishonin, Soka Gakkai can not change the fact and truth of Nichiren Daishonin. No matter what! Denying and rejecting the advent of Nichiren Daishonin can not be forgiven. The purpose of the Lotus sutra is to propagate the Three Great Secret Laws of Nichiren Daishonin. The worst offense of Soka Gakkai is redefining the language for the three great secret laws as tactful deception to SGI members. The advent of Nichiren Daishonin is to inscribe his life on the Dai Gohonzon on October 12th 1279 for his view of Kosen Rufu not a mere expansion of the memberships of SGI organization. I left SGI to protect the true Kosen Rufe which was defined by Nichiren Daishonin to Nikko Shonin. The advent of Nichiren Daishonin is describing the Dai Gohonzon. All other Gohonzon is transcribed Gohonzon from The Dai Gohonzon. Take this to heart.

I first encountered the Buddha in Viet Nam when I was out on a patrol...we had gotten lost and were literally "wondering around in a jungle" the NVA (our adversary) can´t say they were the enemy, it was their homelands....we were the enemy I think it is more accurate, anyway...e had been walking for a long time and erre looking for a place to sack.out and we were really tired....as we walked endlessly, we came around a turn in this trail...and into a small clearing and there sat, smack dab in the middle of this clearing a huge Buddha...30 to 50 ft I swear....so we just threw down our rucks and sat down around this Buddha and all of us fell to sleep, we didn't put out any security nothing and we slept all night or what was left of the night...true story. I served with the 101st Airborne Division of the 1st BDE 2/502 this was in April 1968 in A Shau Valley...Home of the Hmong Peoples as I found out years later. Now I am a Buddhist and chanting as often and long as I can each day every day and I do not expect reward or recognition my image is still of that giant Buddha I guess STILL sitting in that same place for all these decades....no doubt. That´s my image me lost and scared and only a pup 18 y/o....sitting down and feeling relief and relaxed by the presence of Buddha a place or an idea of "peace of mind." So now me and my family chant and my wife has Cancer and I am very old and I was wounded 3 times in Nam and fought the Establishment when I returned to my homelands in what is called the United States...I am Native American
My introduction to Nichiren Buddhism was not as auspicious as being in combat. I went to Nam, but that’s a different story. Briefly, I was introduced to Nichiren Buddhism in Tokyo in 1956 by my soon to be wife. I was currently in the US Air Force at the time. I started chanting in 1958-it was one of the conditions for her to marry me. We came to my home in California in 1959 and we were pioneers and were fortunate to receive Certificates. Members were scarce in 1959; and although we were small in numbers-but we made a lot of causes. Sensei established the SGI-USA headquarters less than a 30-minute drive from my home. We are also fortunate there are many community centers within an hours drive from my home. My wife and I were married for fifty-five years and cancer took her from me in May 2014. Without fanfare, among her last words to me was her mission was complete! 🙏🏻

I have a large family. During this outbreak being stuck in quarantine, all of us around the state of Alaska, we use zoom app for all of us to get together and do gongyo. Great way to stay in tune with everyone and group gongyo.
Our chapter has been chanting every morning at 10 am. We started many weeks ago. Members can come as go as they please. It is great to chant with others. Of course this recording is great, too. It is fast and galloping, and really is motivating Thanks Greg.
I have been practicing Buddhism when I joined after moving to Denver in 1968. I continued to practice when I moved back to Durango, CO and when I moved to Phoenix in 1980. In Phoenix, I was very glad to have meetings to go to and especially people to chant with. Since then I have moved to Durango again and Denver again and am back in Durango once more. Durango is home and is very beautiful but lonely, especially since the pandemic. I always (well almost, always not possible) pray facing my Gohonzon but i can feel the difference in power when there are many people chanting together, so thank you for doing gongyo and diamoku with me, thank you for the power, the rhythm, the connection and the inspiration to chant for 30 minutes instead of 10 or for 60 minutes instead of 20.
NMRK is a powerful mantra..i have placed my full faith in it..i will be victorious at the end with this strongest pillar no matter how many big dangerous hurdles may come in my way, my chantings will fare me well through my difficult times🙏

Been chanting my entire life and found myself living now in a country with no SGI! Having videos like this help me continue my 20yrs+ practice. The struggle to continue to push through a solo practice has been tricky but with the guidance from sensei i know i can do it!
Case, also since you speak English there is in the U.K. a Richard Causten channel SGI-UK, that is awesome. Old study talks small snippets on other things. They memorialized his talks and great when you practice alone. Especially study lectures, including the priest hood talks.

I started a Gongyo Practice 7 days ago and though i am no where near as fast as this recording i listen everyday knowing that one day i will be. In just this first week I have already noticed an increased since of peace and joy with an almost euphoric expectation of greatness to come. I love This video and I LOVE GONGYO!!!!! So Jason, are you super fast now? When I first started I had headaches and was so slow that I thought I would never be able to get to a decent speed , five years later, I do Gongyo quite fast and enjoy it just as I did on day one. Hope all is good too.
I fell away from the practice for a while came back about 2 or 3 weeks ago and then these replys come in to a comment when i first discovered Nicherin Budhhism... Maybe one day i can make the 3 hour drive to the nearest community center but right now i dont have a car and they arent responding to my emails and inquiries about meeting someone in a local district. All is as it should be... I even managed to get my brother to begin practicing the Daishonin's Buddhism :-)

I have been practicing since the 70. I have not been consistent. I have been a sleeping member off and on. I know how powerful Daimoku is, and I have been fighting my way back. All you new members never never give up. Daimoku and Gongoyo is the only solution to over come any hardship. Never have a singin faith, but gunkie spirit. DAIMOKU is the only way to over come any problem to reach human revelation and to change your karma. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is the only way to go, and to be a happier person. ALWAYS carry your juso with U. In your pocket or purse. It's a weapon against evil.

For me that is between 1 am and 5 am. I'm so joyous doing it feeling I'm sitting in the room with Sensei 💯. This is a wonderful recitation of the Lotus Sutra, I remember a month ago thinking that this was too fast and difficult to remember, and know after almost a month of chanting day and night I am capable to chant it at this speed and say the lyrics by heart! Although I don't have a gohonzon like the one SGI uses I use the one at my heart, our buddha inside that lives in every being! chanting has helped me a lot and now I am sure of my faith in the lotus sutra. Something magical occurred while chanting along with this video. I chant to many of these videos, mostly from Greg and Nigel, and usually there's one comment visible. But this time, a different comment kept popping up every 10 seconds and I found that so helpful in my daimoku, fellow SGI members I never met giving me exactly what I needed to hear at this time of great uncertainty. @Meenakshi Khanna, I contracted bacterial meningitis and covid in less than three years. I got severe blood clots both times and almost died, but I defeated both illnesses with daimoku, even when esophagitis made it almost impossible to speak. If you can only mouth it, the universe will still hear you if you keep your goal in focus and your determination strong! As Nichiren said in "Reply to Yasaburo", "The reason you have survived when so many have died is so that you would meet up with this moment...." I have a few members in my district from India who either started their practice with BSG or embraced the Gohonzon through SGI-USA after coming here to New Jersey. They have added so much to the organization here!

Piyusha Sinha you should instead make the Law the center of your life. SGI doesn’t worship the gohozon. It is the tool that we use to reveal our Buddha nature through chanting the Law of Cause & Effect. The gohozen has no power in itself. Do not worship the gohozen.

your honest self assessment mean hat you understand the value of this ritual, I read a piece in Zen Buddhism called the the great disenchantment (I cant remember the exact title) but it refers to the fact hat many of us me include has stopped or practice for various reasons, his often is the opportunity to reassess and ask more questions, I after returning after an approximate 3 year hiatus I am charged more than ever,..you may consider this period as a learning period that I am positive you will in the future learn to dearly appreciate as I now do…additionally once you embrace the teachings you never lose them..nmhrk

Just wanted to say, our family is chanting around the clock while we are on self/imposed quarantine....here in Buenos Aires, ARG,., we set 5 hours minimum and 24 max....so far, we have done 15 hours in 3 stages....as our max//// we want to send out our hope and blessings to all the world Kosen Rufu and please be safe....just a note: "3 thousands realms in a single moment of life..."

I am so grateful to you Greg and the group of members who put this together! I can sense each of you sincerity in every daimoku and the unity and strength and confidence that comes through is so clear and refreshing. Unfortunately, not every group, District, Chapter, Area or country has the benefit of members chanting this way. As I am going through a poison into medicine time, a Winter into Spring time, a darkness into dawn time I need strong conviction daimoku and this presents exactly that. I am truly grateful to you all and I pray it influences all of our gongyo and daimoku throughout the world! I have shared It to many. And thank you SGI members for the positive posts here. You are all Buddhas!

Dear SGI members,
I was a member of Soka Gakkai for almost 70 years. My mentor is Toda sensei. The most important thing that Soka Gakkai changed is the core doctrine of Nichiren Daishonin called The Three Great Secret Laws.
On November 8th 2014, Soka Gakkai deviated from it. This is a colossal mistake in the history of Buddhism.
I went against this deviation which is serious slandering the law. But I had no power to change the organization so I left because I can't betray Nichiren Daishonin as my master, parents and teacher. The all TODA sensei's family left Soka Gakkai as well.
My mentor Toda sensei said if this kind of deviation occur, Soka Gakkai must be disband. My saying is not personal at all but strictly matter of our faith to the true Buddhism based on The Three Great Secret Laws.
As a result, without any hesitation, SGI today says Daimoku is the cause. Daimoku is the honzon.
I see SGI has not accepted anymore the advent of Nichiren Daishonin that is the same as other heretical sects of "Nichiren Buddhism" Soka Gakkai SGI was supposed to be practicing ""Nichiren DAISHONIN Buddhism"
Maybe today's members even don't understand the point of the issue I am talking.
I will say NO to SGI. WHY has SGI changed as the organization which goes against the advent of Nichiren Daishonin?
Daimoku is not the true cause but the true effect.
Daimoku is one of the actual teachings from the Three great secret laws.
What is the one great secret law?
I am asking you. You members have kept avoiding your straight answer for several years.
My criticism to SGI is not personal but strictly based on my faith for
Nichiren Daishonin.
One great secret law which is the Dai Gohonzon is the ultimate cause of Daimoku as its effect. You are confused because SGI has deviated from Nichiren Daishonin.
Denying is not answer. If the organization has some issue with the temple, SGI could have kept the Dai Gohonzon as "内得信仰"(To keep the faith to Dai Gohonzon in our heart even physically don't see it. )
It was intended that way until the moment of Kosen Rufu of The Three Great Secret Laws.
However, during the "campaign of Soka
Renaissance" Soka Gakkai changed our "one and only object of worship" became no longer the object of our worship, and additionally, Soka Gakkai itself certifies gohonzon after that day became a new regulation.
This is the very specific point I have been telling to all my friends in SGI with all documented proofs from Gosho and Lotus Sutra.
No matter how Soka Gakkai has built up cheap logic as an excuse to not accept the advent of Nichiren Daishonin, Soka Gakkai can not change the fact and truth of Nichiren Daishonin. No matter what! Denying and rejecting the advent of Nichiren Daishonin can not be forgiven.
The purpose of the Lotus sutra is to propagate the Three Great Secret Laws of Nichiren Daishonin.
The worst offense of Soka Gakkai is redefining the language for the three great secret laws as tactful deception
to SGI members.
The advent of Nichiren Daishonin is to inscribe his life on the Dai Gohonzon on October 12th 1279 for his view of Kosen Rufu not a mere expansion of the memberships of SGI organization.
I left SGI to protect the true Kosen Rufe which was defined by Nichiren Daishonin to Nikko Shonin.
The advent of Nichiren Daishonin is describing the Dai Gohonzon.
All other Gohonzon is transcribed Gohonzon from The Dai Gohonzon.
Take this to heart.

I first encountered the Buddha in Viet Nam when I was out on a patrol...we had gotten lost and were literally "wondering around in a jungle" the NVA (our adversary) can´t say they were the enemy, it was their homelands....we were the enemy I think it is more accurate, anyway...e had been walking for a long time and erre looking for a place to sack.out and we were really tired....as we walked endlessly, we came around a turn in this trail...and into a small clearing and there sat, smack dab in the middle of this clearing a huge Buddha...30 to 50 ft I swear....so we just threw down our rucks and sat down around this Buddha and all of us fell to sleep, we didn't put out any security nothing and we slept all night or what was left of the night...true story. I served with the 101st Airborne Division of the 1st BDE 2/502 this was in April 1968 in A Shau Valley...Home of the Hmong Peoples as I found out years later. Now I am a Buddhist and chanting as often and long as I can each day every day and I do not expect reward or recognition my image is still of that giant Buddha I guess STILL sitting in that same place for all these decades....no doubt. That´s my image me lost and scared and only a pup 18 y/o....sitting down and feeling relief and relaxed by the presence of Buddha a place or an idea of "peace of mind." So now me and my family chant and my wife has Cancer and I am very old and I was wounded 3 times in Nam and fought the Establishment when I returned to my homelands in what is called the United States...I am Native American

My introduction to Nichiren Buddhism was not as auspicious as being in combat. I went to Nam, but that’s a different story. Briefly, I was introduced to Nichiren Buddhism in Tokyo in 1956 by my soon to be wife. I was currently in the US Air Force at the time. I started chanting in 1958-it was one of the conditions for her to marry me. We came to my home in California in 1959 and we were pioneers and were fortunate to receive Certificates. Members were scarce in 1959; and although we were small in numbers-but we made a lot of causes. Sensei established the SGI-USA headquarters less than a 30-minute drive from my home. We are also fortunate there are many community centers within an hours drive from my home. My wife and I were married for fifty-five years and cancer took her from me in May 2014. Without fanfare, among her last words to me was her mission was complete! 🙏🏻

I have a large family. During this outbreak being stuck in quarantine, all of us around the state of Alaska, we use zoom app for all of us to get together and do gongyo. Great way to stay in tune with everyone and group gongyo.

Our chapter has been chanting every morning at 10 am. We started many weeks ago. Members can come as go as they please. It is great to chant with others. Of course this recording is great, too. It is fast and galloping, and really is motivating

I have been practicing Buddhism when I joined after moving to Denver in 1968. I continued to practice when I moved back to Durango, CO and when I moved to Phoenix in 1980. In Phoenix, I was very glad to have meetings to go to and especially people to chant with. Since then I have moved to Durango again and Denver again and am back in Durango once more. Durango is home and is very beautiful but lonely, especially since the pandemic. I always (well almost, always not possible) pray facing my Gohonzon but i can feel the difference in power when there are many people chanting together, so thank you for doing gongyo and diamoku with me, thank you for the power, the rhythm, the connection and the inspiration to chant for 30 minutes instead of 10 or for 60 minutes instead of 20.

Just wanted to express my gratitude for this video. I've been chanting for over 30 years, still every day unfolds in a way for us to understand more of life and vast potential of the Universe. We never stop learning.. This videos help me concentrate as I'm on a 3 hours daimoku per day since November 2020 to fulfill my mission as an artist (opera singer) for kosen rufu. I started a Gongyo Practice 7 days ago and though i am no where near as fast as this recording i listen everyday knowing that one day i will be. In just this first week I have already noticed an increased since of peace and joy with an almost euphoric expectation of greatness to come. I love This video and I LOVE GONGYO!!!!! I will chant this for the rest of my Life
I use a slower recording to set the pace for my actual practice :-)
So Jason, are you super fast now? When I first started I had headaches and was so slow that I thought I would never be able to get to a decent speed , five years later, I do Gongyo quite fast and enjoy it just as I did on day one. Hope all is good too.

I fell away from the practice for a while came back about 2 or 3 weeks ago and then these replys come in to a comment when i first discovered Nicherin Budhhism...
Maybe one day i can make the 3 hour drive to the nearest community center but right now i dont have a car and they arent responding to my emails and inquiries about meeting someone in a local district.
All is as it should be... I even managed to get my brother to begin practicing the Daishonin's Buddhism :-)

I have been practicing since the 70. I have not been consistent. I have been a sleeping member off and on. I know how powerful Daimoku is, and I have been fighting my way back. All you new members never never give up. Daimoku and Gongoyo is the only solution to over come any hardship. Never have a singin faith, but gunkie spirit. DAIMOKU is the only way to over come any problem to reach human revelation and to change your karma. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is the only way to go, and to be a happier person. ALWAYS carry your juso with U. In your pocket or purse. It's a weapon against evil.
Constant consistent daimoku no matter what is the only path to nirvana.pls make daimoku a habit.

When I‘ve starded daimokus 1987_1988 I was working in a youthhostel in the south of Paris and I had the extraonary chance to meet 3 travellers from USA. We chanted together in front of Gohonzon. I’d never forget it. There is no distance with daimokus and everything is possible. Sophie
Today 6 May 21, again I chant with this one video during covid-19 indoors time. I've been doing gongyo during the hours I'm told President Ikeda does morning gongyo. For me that is between 1 am and 5 am. I'm so joyous doing it feeling I'm sitting in the room with Sensei 💯. I chant daimoku for the human revolution and thus obtaining the desired goals of everyone in health, happiness, peaceful Family Relations, CommUNITY Relations of Peace, Obtaining of Everyone's Personal Goals of Good, Fighting Against Arrogance, Jealousy, Grudges, Hatred and the other 14 Slanders and Leaders to not accept stagnation in personal and thus their local SGI Organization growth and members protect the Soka Gakkai International by using their voices beyond Prayer citing President Ikeda's guidances and thus Peace and Justice in Society and good weather and eradication of Covid19 and it's related multiplicity of Diseases Including Anger in Families and Society Violence. I am happy to announce that I have several people Chanting the daimoku and gaining Benefit and some sharing with others both now and during the start of the Covid19 gift Season in 2020! I wish All to respond to Sensei both shakubuku'ing and Better Taking Care of their shakubuku.

This is a wonderful recitation of the Lotus Sutra, I remember a month ago thinking that this was too fast and difficult to remember, and know after almost a month of chanting day and night I am capable to chant it at this speed and say the lyrics by heart!
Although I don't have a gohonzon like the one SGI uses I use the one at my heart, our buddha inside that lives in every being! chanting has helped me a lot and now I am sure of my faith in the lotus sutra.

Something magical occurred while chanting along with this video. I chant to many of these videos, mostly from Greg and Nigel, and usually there's one comment visible. But this time, a different comment kept popping up every 10 seconds and I found that so helpful in my daimoku, fellow SGI members I never met giving me exactly what I needed to hear at this time of great uncertainty. To see all of these rotating was sheer magic and amazing proof of the great & mostly unexpected benefits of this practice.
