JB earns my greatest respect (whatever that may be worth...) for taking the challenge to play this rather unusual musical context for him and really stepping back from the front man role. knowing you don‘t have to prove anything anymore can be quite liberating, I guess.
Unbelievable! Joe really is one of the baddest players on the planet! The band is NO joke! All world class players! So motivated by this performance . . . OMG! Wish I was there. Impromptu at its finest! Definitely changed my opinion of another child prodigy (Joe Bonamassa). Such soul, such passion . . .
Wow he really crosses over in this one. At first I thought he was lost but he reaches in and pulls it off after he straightens it out. Just goes to show you he can play just about anything....I kept hearing the fiddle and kept wondering where was the accompaniment until I saw the bow in the background. :) Groovy Hoovy
bonjour je suis un FAN de JB .Je joue de la batterie depuis4ans et j'ai 58ans (allez sur youtube et tapez "un grand espace",joué par dédé) merci pour vos interprétations musicales et a bientot j'espère bye,bye......
No disrespect, I understand JB prowess and voice, have we ever consider JB may be in awe of the canvas Bruce has produced that allosw JB to add touches....anyway, Jerry Gracia graced this song on the original album. It always starts with a wave created then many follow after it....Bruce is really the most underrated treasure where he shared it with others...
Sorry, but I expected from the encounter between Bruce Hornsby & Joe Bonamassa! BH is hardly heard because of mediocre sound & JB is technically good at guitar, but his playing is soulless!
every time bruce hornsby plays a song that we all like , he always screws it up. Always jazzes it up. can you not play your own stuff anymore like the record. you have to jazz everything up to make us all think your wonderful and talented. Its the song Bruce, that lives.I would rather hear a tribute band do your music rather than you. What happened to you Bruce. Have you forgotten your fans
@@wisslers6370 If a fan wants to hear a song exactly like it was on the album, why not just listen to the album instead of going to a live concert or listening to a recording of a live concert? I used to be annoyed that Rush would play songs live almost identically to the studio version. I wanted to hear them improvise. Thankfully, they later started jamming again (not quite like they did in the mid-1970s, though). It wasn't just Rush that played songs live almost identically to studio versions. The keyboardist for Genesis, Tony Banks, rarely jammed live. He preferred playing the song the same way (as the studio version) when on-stage. Seems silly to me to have a live performance and then play the songs exactly like they were played on the studio album. Might as well listen to the studio album in that case.
The Best Guitarist I've ever heard until today!!
My god Joe........What a sweet solo.

Obviously, not a Bruce fan! Wow.
His genius is the ability to make the song his own and play it differently every time. You obviously don't get it.
The jazz is why I'm such a huge fan.

Bobby, you're a bit of a knob.
