What happens when you take Terraria and crank the spawn rate to 300x? Chaos. Endless enemies. Zero peace. I set out to beat the entire game - bosses, events, everything - with the most insane spawn rate imaginable, and let's just say... I wasn't ready.

@SmeefyboyI like your editing style, you seem to do more timelapses than jump cuts, you are open with things like qol mods you are using and don’t shout at the mic/use a lot of music which is good. Makes for a relaxing watch :)

Kinda just ended up being happenstance, we weren’t aware of it when the QOL stuff was added but definitely took advantage of it
Exactly what I thought the whole point of that gun being powerful is that the ammo is limited and none craftable
I completely misread the title of this video as "300% Spawn Rates" and thought "oh okay, so three times as normal! that isn't TOO bad" but then realized less than a minute in how many slimes were spawning and realized just how insane this challenege was

This is exactly what i saw 😮
The king slime thing wasn't a bug. There's this feature where King Slime has about a 1/1000 chance to spawn every in-game hour if you're in the outer thirds of the world, and I'd assume the heightened spawn rates also affected that. With rough math I'd say it upped the chances of this happening to 3/10, which would certainly explain the frequency for you.

Tha happened to me once as a kid on the 3ds, it scared me really badly, but i did have post mech gear so it didn't really do anything. Cool memory i still remember to this day though, i miss the wonder i had for this game sometimes
Also, the slime king spawn after 100 slimes(more or less) a slay in a day. The same rain make it easier because os the slime numbers, but killing a lot os slimes will make it spawn too.

@GodOfShadow666 No, that's exclusively a slime rain thing. The only ways to spawn King Slime manually are during a slime rain and using the summon (and he can spawn naturally with the 1/1000)

The reason why you got presents is because completing the frost moon enables christmas energy for 1 whole terraria day meaning christmas items can drop (in this example presents), the same can be said with the pumpkin moon releasing Halloween energy and enabling common enemies like zombies to have costumes

The Shimmer makes getting the Ankh charm/shield MUCH easier. You can swap each one of the pairs for the other, so you could've swapped an extra blindfold for the mirror. One of the many reasons the shimmer is kinda op.

Pro tip: Getting to Wave 15 in the Pumpkin Moon makes the game think it's Halloween, and getting to Wave 15 in the Frost Moon makes the game think it's Christmas
Copper watch?! If you didn’t know, there are tiers of watches which depend on the material you make it out of. Gold and platinum give the most accurate time.

On top of that, the tiers are linked to the ore tiers so copper/tin is worst, then iron/lead, then gold/platinum is the best

If you know, when did that become a thing? im not sure i remember that happening the last time i played which was a couple years ago.
I think it's been a thing since before I started playing in 1.2. Another possibility could be that you had slime rain and that the dungeon slimes counts towards King slime spawn.

57:22 The Truffle doesn't spawn there since he needs a house in a *surface* glowing mushroom biome - that one is underground, as you can see by the background to the left there still showing even without walls. Edit: Aaaand that's what I get for commenting before finishing the video...
Also, I can't help but feel you would have greatly benefited from the knowledge that a tiny single pixel high layer of lava will block all spawns in the area above - making a flat space and just dumping barely enough lava to cover it can block all spawns in an arbitrarily tall empty vertical area without needing a bajillion walls. Can even get the lava level low enough that nothing gets deleted in it - you can easily check the depth with a copper coin, and seeing if that gets voided when you toss it on the lava. Lava waders or Terraspark boots will also let you walk on top of that fine without getting burned, so can be used for much easier spawn-proofing. Often used in large scale mob farms, to keep mobs from spawning anywhere aside from where you want them.
Harpies and most other space enemies are a notable exception to that spawn blocking, since they are some of the few ones that can spawn in air itself, rather than picking a random block, checking the ground beneath it, and being cancelled if there is lava there.

11:05 - you know that when you built your hellevator with rope to get up and down it, you know could do so without removing the platforms? just leave the platforms there and start placing the rope/chain/vine from the top and it will keep on extending downwards from there, even through platforms, visually it will look like they cross each other as if the rope is a background tile but it will still function both as a full platform tile and rope tile at the same time. 3 tiles needed for that effect: 1 rope above, 1 rope below a platform tile and you will see the effect

This is a great video. Most other spawn increased Terraria challenges I see start low and increase as they die, or aren’t increased to this extent. It’s really interesting this way. I also like seeing the infrastructure you build, instead of just hearing a passing comment or something. Good work!

the reason the truffle didnt spawn is because it needs to be a surface mushroom biome. use the depth meter to mkae sure the house isnt classified as being in the "underground" area

king slime has a chance to spawn on the outer third of the world whenever you are near a water candle. so with the crazy spawn rates he would indeed spawn constantly

45:16 So the reason the dummy did nothing is bc its actually technically 2 things. The furniture and an invisible invincible enitiy that tracks dmg.
A. The spawns capped out and the dmg tracker couldnt spawn
B. You didnt have a dps meter on which is the dummy's main usage.
With a dps meter it shows exactly how much dmg ur dealing and a dummy is one of the only creatures other than say a boss that can survive long enough to give you an accurate reading considering it cant be killed.

1:05:05 The reason you started getting presents is pretty cool actually; after you defeat the Frost Moon, the next in-game day counts as a 1-day christmas season! Same goes for the Pumpkin moon, the next in-game day becomes a 1-day halloween season! That way, you can get presents and trick-or-treat bags at any time of year!

Just to me, when the premise is 300x spawnrates, when ya have somethin' like, excavator that allows ya to mine an entire vein, it means that the mobs don't have as much time to spawn. Like I said, I get why they're there, I just feel like it detracts from the challenge.
At the temple mining the spawn table and moving it might have worked.

also i personally wouldve gone with Corruption as the swarms of Eaters would be easier to deal with and also the Vilethorn is INCREDIBLE for early game group shredding

You can right-click accessories and armor to switch them if there is no other available slot, such as the wings. With vanity armor, if I remember right, prioritizing the vanity armor slots instead of the actual armor slots.
Then there's the fact you can shimmer the Clentaminator and Rod of Discord post-moon lord to become the Terraformer and Rod of Harmony. The Terraformer goes a farther range than the Clentaminator, by a good amount, with the Rod of Harmony allowing you to teleport infinitely without health lost due to it not longer giving the debuff called "Chaos State".
the clentaminator and rod of discord in the shimmer is something i really wish I new while I was playing it would've shaved off so much time

The infinite consumables were a bit too strong especially the infinite ammo, fallen stars and the infinite money ammo. Otherwise great video!
I think it was totally fine, farming for stars for the star cannon is one of the most tedious and annoying of grinds in this game. Also its not like it gave him any more of an advantage that just using the gun, it just skipped the grind for the ammo, completely understandable
Before I watch the rest of the video, imagine what jungle will look like.

you can make a chlorophyte "garden" by placing a single chlorophyte ore in the midde lof a 7x7 of mud. but you want to space out each "garden" by at least 25 blocks. the exact values are probably findable somewhere, but with how much time you guys need for a play like that. checking the "gardens" every hour or two should yield about 30 ore per "patch" per hour.
we tried this but was wayyy to slow for it to be a main source.
@Smeefyboy oh, was it slow? I mean, YEAH it's slow...on my games, I usually set up like 12 of those plots, but most games I"m sooooo danged busy with stuff that enough time passes between "harvests" it works out fine.
If you made the glowing mushroom biome in the underground or cavern layer, the truffle wont spawn
9:12 you couldve used the mace as a passive weapon, had one of you open/close a trapdoor and throw the mace up to sit there and couldve made it like a lava afk farm

in my defense, We could have just grinded plenty of them. All the mod did was save time, conner and I both needed to farm 297 of them before we could craft it anyways.

Cool video. The mining speed at 12:20 mark or so is definitely cheated though. Whats the point of the challenge if you’re just going to use a cheat menu for mining speed? I know how fast a platinum pick mines and with no minings buffs you aren’t mining as fast as you were showing in the video legitimately. Even if you had mine speed accessories.
Not all all, I'd be upfront if it were. download all the mods in the description and maximize your mining accessories and buffs you'll see what I mean. that includes pickaxe speed.
